The smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method is applied to construct the dispersion of fluctuations in quasi-hydrostatic configuration of an isothermal self-gravitating slab. The uncertainty of the implementation is evaluated, and a novel technique (acceleration error) is proposed to weaken this uncertainty. The two-fluid quasi-hydrostatic diffusion of small fluctuations is used to support the importance of the acceleration error. The results show that the uncertainty converges to a few percent by increasing of the SPH particle numbers. Considering the acceleration error weakens the uncertainty, and prohibits the serious dynamical consequences in slow dispersion of fluctuation in the quasi-hydrostatic evolution of the slab.

Child abuse can cause children to sustain various damages including physical, mental, psychological, behaviour damages, and etc., and damages thereof have long term effects as well as short term effects. Because of its serious negative consequences, punishment of child abuser and prevention measures are necessary. It was for this reason that we decided to produce this work which would define child abuse by examining existing studies of child abuse cases in Korea and would suggest prevention measures by analysing current situation.

Nowadays, container transport services play a substantial role in global cargo transportation by serving as an intermodal between the exporter and importer. Container shipping has become increasingly important over the past few decades due to its obvious advantages. However, Vietnam's container market has shown severely ongoing competition among numerous domestic and foreign shipping lines resulting in serious consequences occurring such as the freight rates substantially decreasing within the last ten years. In fact, Vietnam's sea lanes have become more defensive to cover the losses of shipping companies. Selection of criteria for competitive evaluation of container transport companies is necessary to help recognize the problems within the enterprise especially relating to its position in the market and from here, business management are able to put strategic plans in place and reasonable policy in order to be able to survive and grow.

Klinefelter syndrome is the most common genetic form of male hypogonadism, but the phenotype becomes evident only after puberty. It is characterized by infertility, small testes, sparse body and facial hair, increased body weight, gynecomastia, increased LH and FSH, and a low level of testosterone. Early recognition and treatment of Klinefelter syndrome can significantly improve the patient's quality of life and prevent serious consequences. Here, we report an infertile man with a rare variant of Klinefelter syndrome with a 47, XY, i(X)(q10) karyotype.

Subsea pipelines are exposed to several potential risks of damage due to wave, soil instability and other hazards. Structural failure of the steel pipelines will result in serious consequences such as release of transported hydrocarbons, pollution to the ocean environment and heavy costs due to repair. This paper examines the safety of subsea pipelines with free span which is one of high potential damages. The variation of an allowable length of static free span is examined for different boundary conditions and is given in a curve which is useful for the dsign of the subsea pipeline with a free span.

Complex cervical spine fractures are a serious complications of maxillofacial trauma and associated with high mortality and neurological morbidity. Strict vigilance in preventing further insult to the cervical spine is a crucial step in managing patients who are at risk for neurologic compromise. We report a rare case of a right transverse process of atlas fracture with right-sided vertebral artery injury that was associated with a comminuted fracture of the body and angle of the mandible, which restricted mouth opening. Airway management was performed by an awake fiber-optic nasotracheal intubation, where neck movement was avoided with a cervical collar. Vertebral artery injuries may have disastrous consequences, such as basilar territory infarction and death, and should be suspected in patients with head and neck trauma. After mandibular plating, the patient was on cervical collar immobilization for 12 weeks and anti-coagulant therapy.

Cold spraying is a fairly new coating technique, which within the last decade attracted serious attention of research groups and spray companies. As compared to thermal spraying, the low process temperatures in cold spraying result in unique coating properties, which promise new applications. Since particles impact with high kinetic energy in the solid state, new concepts to describe coating formation are requested to enable the full potential of this new technology. The present contribution gives a brief review of current models concerning bonding, supplying a description of the most influential spray parameters and consequences for new developments. With respect to spray forming by cold cold spraying, microstructures and thick, further machineable structures are presented.

Safety critical systems are those in which a failure can have serious and irreversible consequences. Nowadays digital technology has been rapidly applied to critical system such as railways, airplanes, nuclear power plants, vehicles. The main difference between analog system and digital system is that the software is the key component of the digital system. The digital system performs more varying and highly complex functions efficiently compared to the existing analog system because software can be flexibly designed and implemented. The flexible design make it difficult to predict the software failures. This paper reviews safety standard and criteria for safety critical system such as railway system and introduces the framework for the software lifecycle. The licensing procedure for the railway software is also reviewed.

Despite all preventive efforts, aspiration of foreign body during clinical dental procedures occurs occasionally. Careful clinical physical examination, proper assessment of radiography and prompt emergency treatment can prevent any potentially serious consequences. In this report, we will report serial cases of foreign body in different situation from mild cases to severe cases and suggest some clinical guidelines to dental health care providers.

Prior knowledge of arterial supply to the head and neck is of substantial importance for well-planned surgeries involving the concerned region. We are reporting an unusual and rare variation in the branching pattern of external carotid artery in a 60-year-old female cadaver. A common trunk known as thyrolinguofacial trunk, originating from the anterior surface of the external carotid artery (right and left) giving of superior thyroid artery and a linguofacial trunk during a routine neck dissection. The linguofacial trunk then divided into a lingual and a facial artery. Vascular abnormalities are usually detected either on the dissection table or by the radiologists during imaging or accidently during surgeries leading to serious consequences.
