  • In this paper, we propose a new learning algorithm, ASOFM(Adaptive Self Organizing Feature Map), to solve the defects of Kohonen's Self Organiaing Feature Map. Kohonen's algorithm is sometimes stranded on local minima for the initial weights. The proposed algorithm uses an object function which can evaluate the state of network in learning and adjusts the learning rate adaptively according to the evaluation of the object function. As a result, it is always guaranteed that the state of network is converged to the global minimum value and it has a capacity of generalized learning by adaptively. It is reduce that the learning time of our algorithm is about $30\%$ of Kohonen's.

  • Purposes: Family living with dementia patients have the burden for caring and suffer from health problems. Therefore, proper supports for their health disorders are required. The purpose of this study with regard to this is to subdivide unmet healthcare needs of family living with dementia patients into affordability, accommodation, and accessibility and figure out the relevant factors. Methodology: The 2017 Community Health Survey was used, and 2,331 families living with dementia patients was included. To figure out the factors with regard to the types of unmet healthcare needs, multinominal logistic regression analysis was conducted. Findings: According to the analysis result, sex, age, monthly household income, economic activity, self-rated health, self-rated stress and perception of depressive symptoms turned out to be the factors related to unmet healthcare needs. Regarding affordability, unmet healthcare needs were low when the object was female, over 65, highly educated, and monthly household income were high. On the other hand, unmet healthcare needs was high when self-rated health was bad, self-rated stress was high, and had depression. With regard to accommodation, unmet healthcare needs were low when the object was over 65. Unmet healthcare needs were high when the object was female, economically active and had depression, and self-rated health was high. Regarding accessibility, unmet healthcare needs were low when the object was high school graduate, but it was high when self-rated health was bad. Practical Implication: This study confirmed that the family with dementia patients had a high proportion of unmet healthcare needs due to affordability and accommodation. The existing main discussion was that the experience of unmet healthcare needs normally occurred due to economic reasons, but a consideration on various cases and factors is required to ultimately achieve the policy goal to reduce the unmet healthcare needs of the family living with dementia.

  • Electrostatic suspension offers an advantage of directly suspending various materials such as conductive materials, semiconductors and dielectric materials without any mechanical contacts. This is a specific feature compared with electromagnetic suspension which can suspend only ferro-magnetic material. In general, the electrostatic suspension systems require position sensors for stabilizing the suspended object. Therefore, a lot of displacement sensors and a switching circuit are required for moving the object through a long distance. In order to circumvent this problem, this paper proposes a self-sensing method which can provide the gap displacement between electrodes and suspended object without external sensors. Moreover a simple on-off controller is presented for stabilization. Experimental validation of the proposed scheme has been performed through the successful levitation of a 4-inch silicon wafer.

  • The politics penetrating through the contemporary art since modernism to postmodernism is to accomplish the 'Non-representation' in the artworks. This study argues that postmodernism did not put an end to the formalistic feature of modernism but intended to accomplish it. Modernist art aimed at purity, i.e. self-referential and self-definition art advocated by Clement Greenberg, and it carne to the end by accomplishing flatness and materiality. It was an 'evasion to the matter' which allocated the object from visuality of outer object to the psychic image of the subject. It failed being 'non-representational' as what it really achieved was transition of object. Jean Baudrillard's theory tried to overcome the representational quality by 'being simulacre'. In the representative artworks of the past, the meaning of artworks was reverted under the outer context or object. The meaning again failed being 'Non-representational' as it was restored to the psychic image of the subject in modernist artworks where the definite illusion was demolished Meanwhile, artwork advocating simulacre acquired Non-representational quality by liberating from both models. It did not deconstruct the self-referential tendency of modernism but maximized the Non-representational modernistic principle. After creating 'Non-representation' through simulacre, the existential status and function of an artwork is the inclination and moral of contemporary art as 'Non-representation'. The image theory of Henri Bergson sets the existential status of 'image' as it does not belong to either subject nor object. It provides significant foundation for arguing the existential status of simulacre. Moreover, though an artwork as a fragment forming a movement image in the world cannot represent the object, it can however sustain certain kind of fractal resemblance with the world by letting the two parties communicate. The theory of sense by Gilles Deleuze is of profound significance as it specifically indicated way how the stage of absorption through the unity of subject and object is realized in forms of artworks, and configured the latent and invisible energy.

  • The category of pairs is the category whose objects are maps between two based spaces and morphisms are pair-maps from one object to another object. To study the self-homotopy equivalences in the category of pairs, we use covariant functors from the category of pairs to the group category whose objects are groups and morphisms are group homomorphisms. We introduce specific subgroups of groups of self-pair homotopy equivalences and put these groups together into certain sequences. We investigate properties of these sequences, in particular, the exactness and split. We apply the results to two special functors, homotopy and homology functors and determine the suggested several subgroups of groups of self-pair homotopy equivalences.

  • This study attempted to extract a suggestive point to help the design of a program, which is used to promote physical activities, by applying a social cognitive theory based on literature review on the physical activity based on a social cognitive theory. This study considers 10 journal articles that used a social cognitive theory, physical activity, and exercise as the major variable using the EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier and Educator's Reference Desk (ERIC). The type of papers was analyzed using a certain criterion, which can be configured according to the number of each year's papers, characteristics of research subjects, application type of a social cognitive theory, and classification of the application of objects in a social cognitive theory. The characteristics of each year's papers presented no specific characteristics for each year's papers, but the study in 2004 especially presented a high level. The characteristics of research subjects presented four highest cases in the case of the college student, and there were zero cases for children. The application type of studies on physical activities using a social cognitive theory can be largely classified as three types. The results of the measurement using a sectional investigation for SCT objects were 2 cases, the application of SCT for promoting physical activities was 1 case, and the demonstration of evaluation for the effect of SCT objects presented 8 highest cases. Although the social cognitive theory in the characteristics of the classification of object applications can be classified as 10 objects, there were no cases that used 10 all objects, partial applications of the object were measured in 8 studies, and two cases presented no detailed considerations on the object. Most of studies used a part of the object where the application of self-efficacy were measured by 8 highest cases. In addition, there were no measurements on the situation, observation learning, answer and response, and self-management. The elements of attitude, cognitive activity, self-efficacy, and handicaps among the SCT object were commonly used, and studies that the self-efficacy largely affects on the promotion of physical activities presented the main current.

  • This study is to select an optimal object detection algorithm for designing a self-checkout counter to improve the inconvenience of payment systems for products without existing barcodes. To this end, a performance comparison analysis of YOLO v2, Tiny YOLO v2, and the latest YOLO v5 among deep learning-based object detection algorithms was performed to derive results. In this paper, performance comparison was conducted by forming learning data as an example of 'donut' in a bakery store, and the performance result of YOLO v5 was the highest at 96.9% of mAP. Therefore, YOLO v5 was selected as the artificial intelligence object detection algorithm to be applied in this paper. As a result of performance analysis, when the optimal threshold was set for each donut, the precision and reproduction rate of all donuts exceeded 0.85, and the majority of donuts showed excellent recognition performance of 0.90 or more. We expect that the results of this paper will be helpful as the fundamental data for the development of an automatic payment system using AI self-service technology that is highly usable in the non-face-to-face era.

  • A novel approach to estimate the real time moving trajectory of an object is proposed in this paper. The object position is obtained from the image data of a CCD camera, while a state estimator predicts the linear and angular velocities of the moving object. To overcome the uncertainties and noises residing in the input data, a Kalman filter and neural networks are utilized. Since the Kalman filter needs to approximate a non-linear system into a linear model to estimate the states, there always exist errors as well as uncertainties again. To resolve this problem, the neural networks are adopted in this approach, which have high adaptability with the memory of the input-output relationship. Kohonen Network(Self-Organized Map) is selected to learn the motion trajectory since it is spatially oriented. The superiority of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through the real experiments.

  • An object-oriented design was carried out for the digital photogrammetric processes. Classes were identified and implemented to develop an integrated digital photogrammetry system using a 3 dimensional self-calibration model for CCD cameras. This integrated system is deemed to be a significant progress from the conventional photogrammetric system which is a series of discrete processes. Object oriented methodology was selected for the implementation of the integrated photogrammetric system because it would be a very complex task to get the same result using a procedural programming language. Besides the simplification of development effort, object oriented methodology has further benefits of better management of program in case when updates to parts of the program are necessary. Using the classes designed in this study, a 3 dimensional self-calibration model was developed for a CCD camera. Classes for data input and image handling as well as classes for bundle adjustment were implemented. The bundle adjustment system was further enhanced with member functions to handle additional parameters for principal point coordinates and focal length, thereby, enabling the application to non-metric CCD cameras.
