As a results of the analysis, re-employment will of high school graduates is higher than that of college graduates, but re-employment possibility is lower. This is somewhat contradictory results with other studies. This seems to be influenced by a large number of highly educated baby boomers' retire. 50s' re-employment will was lower than 60s'. As job factors, employed period and scale has a positive effect. In contrast, type of industry, job haven't. • While the survival rate of preterm infants and employment rates of mothers with infants have been dramatically increasing, little is known about the impact of maternal employment and having premature infants on maternal health recovery after delivery. The purpose of this longitudinal study was to examine differences in postpartum health by mother's employment and infant's prematurity over time during the first 3 months postpartum. The study used a longitudinal design and was secondary data analysis from a large study. A convenience sample of 132 mothers was recruited with mothers who had fullterm or preterm infants through the postpartum unit. They were followed up for 3 times (at 1-2 days, 6 weeks, and 3 months) during the first 3 months postpartum period. Level of fatigue and hysical symptoms were indicators for postpartum physical health; Positive affect and negative affect were assessed for postpartum mental health, and role functional status after childbirth was for role performance. Finding indicated that health indicators changed significantly over time but there was no main or interaction effect for maternal employment status. There were main effects of infant's prematurity on positive affect, negative affect, and role functional status (self-care and social and community activities). This study enhanced the understanding of postpartum health of mothers with preterm infants as well as those with fullterm infants during the postpartum period.

  • This study was planned to analyze the effect of the types of employment on work-related injury experience. The types of employment may have influenced on working conditions including the exposure to risk factors. Korean Working Conditions Survey have collected the various working conditions as household survey with structured questionnaire. The probability of work-related injury of self-employed is more than that of regular worker. But there is no difference of probability of work-related injury experience between regular and irregular worker controlled by general characteristics and the exposure to risk factors. Authors have found that the type of employment have indirect effect on work-related injury experience via the exposure to risk factors. The result of this study may be heuristic one because of data limitation as cross sectional survey data. In future, well designed survey data can evaluate the effect of the type of employment on safety and health status.

  • Self-sufficiency (SS), which is often used in the social welfare policy of the American welfare system, is an important concept in the field of social welfare and has been studied so much. Among such studies there are also studies on how the employment hope scale and the perceived employment barrier scale, which the psychological SS (PSS) consists of, affect the economic SS (ESS) for low-income job seekers in the United States. These studies are generally conducted using survey data, which are mainly analyzed by structural equation model (SEM) in the field of social science field. In the survey data, the number of measurement variables is generally large and there is a correlation between variables. In such cases, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) can be used. The purpose of this study is to compare the results of SEM and PCA on the survey data mainly dealt with in the social science field. We compare the performance of the two analyzing methods through a small simulation study. We also analyze a real survey data of the ESS and the PSS by using these two methods and compare the results.

  • This article examines the relationship of career indecision, job search behavior, and employment among college seniors based on sub-scales of career indecision (lack of career information, lack of self-clarity, decisiveness, lack of necessity recognition, external Barrier). This study explored the effect of career indecision, job search behavior, and employment successes(number of application, number of interview, number of job offer) in longitudinal method. In result, career indecision had negative effect on job search behavior. In other words, the higher career indecision level is, the less job search behavior is performed. Especially, career indecision is connected with preparatory job search behavior and informal job search behavior. Another finding is that job search behavior in time 1 (first semester of college senior) had a strong effect on all of employment success variables in time 2(second semester of college senior). Finally, the theoretical and practical implications of this research were discussed. Based on the limitation of this study, several directions for future research were also suggested.

  • Military organizations have stricter ranks than other organizations, and the age of retirement is lower than that of civil servants in other fields. In a rapidly changing society with a high unemployment rate, it is very important to prepare psychological resources for self-management by improving individual positive strengths throughout life, including job search activities. Various studies are being attempted on positive psychological capital, employment, and productivity that emphasize the strength of positive resources and, from this point of view, contribute to productivity improvement. In this study, the effect of the positive psychological capital of discharged soldiers on their will to re-employment was investigated through questionnaires targeting actual veterans. As a result, it is found that hope, self-efficacy, resilience, and optimism influenced the will to re-employment in the order.

  • This study purported to examine the effects of precarious employment and social capital on the changes of self-rated health status among the middle aged and the young-old population in South Korea. The study analyzed 12 year follow-up data generated by the Korean Labor and Income Panel Study(KLIPS 6-17), which included 10532 employed subjects aged 55 to 75. Multi-level growth curve modeling was performed by fixed and random effect models using STATA 13.0 program. Afterwards, Hausman test was performed, which resulted in support of the estimation by fixed effect model. The results showed that a day labor position was significant factor affecting the deteriorated changes of self-rated health status over time. In addition, wage, weekly working hours, and private/relational social capitals were also found to be significant factors affecting the changes of the self-rated health status. The results supported the divergence hypothesis as well as the cumulative advantage theory. Efforts should be made to develop and implement various employment support policies and social service programs to alleviate the health inequality of the employed workers over their middle-aged to young-old period.

  • Work ability is a fundamental factor to determine who are the recipients of disability benefits or employment services. Disability Grade based on medical impairments is used as a work ability assessment in Korea, but it has been heavily criticized that it does not assess disabled person's work ability adequately. This study tried to find out an index which explains employment status of disabled persons the best among four work ability assessment indexes of disability grade, level of ICF activity limitations and participation restriction, level of help needed with daily activities, and self-assessed health status. As a result, the level of ICF activity limitations and participation restriction explained the employment status the best, and help needed for daily activities is the second, disability grade is the third, and self-assessed health status is the last. In conclusion, level of ICF activity limitations and participation restriction is the best work ability assessment in Disabled People Pension and Employment Policy for Disabled People. Therefore, it is the basic premise to develop a new work ability assessment index which consists of items in ICF activity limitations and participation restriction.
