  • The watertight property of concrete was examined, that is affected by the sort of self waterproofing admixture and the change of the addition ratio of admixture. Various self waterproofing admixtures were made by changing the mixing ratio of silica fume, zinc stearate and silica sand. The result showed as follows. As the adding ratio of self waterproofing admixture increases, the fluidity is increased and the setting time is delayed. While compressive strength of concrete with self waterproofing admixture A which is currently using is increased until the adding ratio of self waterproofing admixture reached 18kg/㎥ and decreased over 24 kg/㎥, that with self waterproofing admixture B, C and D which are developed are higher than that of A. Absorption is decreased as the adding ratio of self waterproofing admixture and the increasing of age in concrete. Especially, when self waterproofing admixture has a lot of zinc stearate, absorption is decreased manifestly. The property of permeability is similar to that of absorption; permeability is decreased as the adding ratio of self waterproofing admixture and the increasing of age in concrete. Consequently, when the ratio of silica fume, zinc stearate and silica sand in self waterproofing admixture is 1 : 2 : 1 and addition ratio of self waterproofing admixture is 6kg/㎥, the high quality concrete is obtained comparing to the concrete with existent self waterproofing admixture.

  • This study is the things to experiment and evaluate the performance of self-healing water-proofing on the concrete to be using the crystal growth composite waterproofing admixture. The cylinder to be making on the concrete by ${\varnothing}150{\times}300$ mm for evaluating the performance of self-healing water-proofing was aging 90 days and cut on a 50 mm. So, it prompted the crack and applied. After it measured the quantity of water to be flow the water throughout the crack part of the cylinder, it applied the basic formular of Darcy's law and calculated the coefficient of water permeability. So, it verified the performance of self-healing water-proofing on the basis of the changing shape of the water permeability. This experiment is the thing to be applied the general evaluation of the structure to demand the real watertightness on doing for the evaluating of performance of the quantity of water leak and self-healing water-proofing about the various penetration crack.

  • This study is intended to develop the self water proof admixture for durability concrete by anti-corrosion inhibitor. Chloride induced corrosion of reinforcement is one of the main factor which cause the deterioration of concrete structure. When the substitute anti-corrosion agents for a part of self waterproofing agent, the corrosion-proof increases for the increased water proofing capacity. And proper self waterproofing agent by cement weight in concrete was generally positive effect to concrete compressive strength, slump, freezing and thawing resistance. Also, permeability and absorption show a straight decrease when self waterproofing agent is added.

  • Concrete with Self-healing Admixture provides waterproof protection by using a organic-inorganic chemical compound throughout the concrete. Using cement chemicals eliminate the need to use additional waterproofing, If crack is occurred, this system enhance self-healing ability to increase the structural safety. In this study, we investigate material properties to conclude mixture rate of concrete to apply a construction site.

  • This study was performed to get information of self-healing mechanism in cement system and the influence of waterproofing admixtures for concrete on self-healing property. For testing, cement paste specimens cured for 7, 14 and 28 days were prepared and crushed into plate-shape pieces. Screened specimens with thickness not more than 1mm were covered with wet rags and cured in a plastic container for 7 and 28 days. After stopping hydration process of the specimens by treatment with acetone, the surfaces of specimens have been contacted with wet rags were analyzed by XRD, DSC, SEM and EDX. The analysis results showed that cement paste has self-healing property and this property is mainly affected by water. Self-healing in cement system is more effective and faster at an early stage of hydration as there is enough content of unreacted cement to make an additional hydration in this period. The results of this study also showed that waterproofing admixtures for concrete have a considerable effect on self-healing of cement pastes; i.e., they improved self-healing effect of cement and, especially, the specimen using admixture C has shown a lot of needle-like or fibrous hydration products which are estimated as ettringite. It is supposed that these ettringite products are effective to enhance self-healing in cement system.
