Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the appropriate management and implementation of the oral malodor prevention for the general people. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 420 subjects in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from March to October, 2013. Except 19 copies, 401 copies were analyzed. The instrument of subjective oral malodor awareness and status was adapted from Yoon and Youn and partly modified. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics(4 questions), oral malodor awareness(3 questions), oral malodor related characteristics(3 questions), self-diagnostic test of oral malodor(5 questions), and subjective oral malodor and health status(3 questions). Self-diagnostic test of oral malodor was score as yes(1 point) and no(0 point). The subjective oral malodor and health status scoring was done by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach alpha was 0.713 in the self-diagnostic test of oral malodor. Results: The self-recognition rate of oral malodor was 0.8%. When the level of oral malodor increased to 1 point, the self-test of oral malodor increased as the rate of 0.033(p<0.05). Conclusions: There existed no close correlation between subjective recognition of oral malodor and oral malodor self-test. Therefore, oral malodor should be measured by an expert counseling to make an accurate diagnosis. It is important to establish the appropriate oral malodor prevention program for the general people.

This study examined the factors influencing aging anxiety in university students. The participants were 239 nursing students from one university in Seoul. Data were collected from September to December in 2014 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. The average score for aging-anxiety was 2.94, for knowledge about the elderly 18.92, for attitude toward the elderly 65.5, for participants' supporting awareness of old parents 4.05, and for self-esteem 3.07. There were negative correlations between aging anxiety, attitude toward the elderly, supporting awareness of old parents, and self-esteem. Aging-anxiety was significantly influenced by age, gender, living with grandparents, attitude toward the elderly, supporting awareness of old parents, and self-esteem. In view of the results of this study, one of the strategic ways to help college students reduce aging anxiety is to provide an opportunity to participate in activities that they can experience positive relationship with elderly.

The purpose of this study aims to be used as base data of a policy which forms university students' appropriate behavior for the prevention of infection by analyzing some university students' prevention awareness of new type of infection. A self-administered questionnaire survey about students' seriousness, sensitivity, self-efficacy, and prevention behavior intent of new infection, was conducted in an university located in Gyeonbuk from April. 30th to May. 11th, 2018. Analyzing factors which affect the prevention behavior intent of infection with controlled general factor and health behavior, the prevention behavior intent was increased by ${\beta}=.125$ as seriousness increases and ${\beta}=.709$ as self-efficacy increases in Model 2, final model. However, sensitivity has no significant effect on the prevention behavior intent. Originally sensitivity has to be a significant factor regarding to the prevention behavior intent of new infection. But the result that sensitivity has no influence at all, shows that the students are insensitive to new diseases as they don't fear or sense danger of new infection. Therefore, a disease control policy which helps to increase sensitivity has to be established.
This study was conducted to analyze the effect on entrepreneurial intention and empirically analyze which factors have the greatest influence. To this end, self-achievement motivation, indirect experience, role model, awareness of entrepreneurs, and fear of business failure were set as independent variables as factors influencing entrepreneurial intention. In order to empirically analyze this, 399 valid samples for the general public were analyzed. SPSS 25.0 was used for statistical analysis. As a result of the empirical analysis of this study, self-achievement motivation, indirect experience, role model, awareness of entrepreneurs, and fear of business failure all had a positive and significant effect on entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study confirmed that self-achievement motivation had the greatest influence among the factors affecting entrepreneurial intention. It is significant in that indirect experiences and role models such as theoretical entrepreneurship lectures, special entrepreneurship lectures, and parents or acquaintances influence entrepreneurial intention.
The purposes of this study were to develop a scientific inquiry-based STEAM education program and to investigate its effect on changing middle school students' self-efficacy in science, job awareness, and attitudes toward STEM. A scientific inquiry-based STEAM program was developed with the theme of 'earthquakes', using the ADBA model, which was taking up the total of six class periods. The final program, which had been revised and completed after being pre-tested with middle school students, was implemented to 105 third-graders of middle school in a metropolitan city. One sample pre-post paired t-test before and after applying the program to the same group was conducted, and its effectiveness was analyzed in terms of self-efficacy in science, job awareness, attitudes toward science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Results showed that the STEAM program on the theme of 'earthquakes' demonstrated its effect on improving the students' of self-efficacy in science subject and their awareness of science-related jobs. Furthermore, this program indicated a statistical significance in improving middle school students' attitudes, awareness, and abilities, values, and continuing interest towards science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Therefore, we suggest that this scientific inquiry based STEAM program be used to help students to improve their scientific investigation skills as well as their creative and integrated thinking abilities in schools.
Objectives: The purpose of the study is to investigate the awareness and attitude toward health insurance coverage extension to scaling in dental service consumers. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 349 adults in Jeonbuk from May 4 to 15, 2015. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects (7 items), Awareness of the dental health insurance system(8 items), Health insurance system coverage extension to scaling(8 items), Self-perception of oral health(7 items), Recognition toward yearly scaling benefit(10 items). Results: There were significant differences according to age in opinions on the appropriateness of the frequency of yearly scaling benefit, and the respondents who were in their 20s, who were unmarried and who brushed their teeth three times a day had significantly different opinions on the appropriateness of the fee of yearly scaling benefit. Their opinions on the expansion of scaling benefit was significantly affected by age. It implies that scaling should be added to the coverage list of the national health insurance in every age group since there is an increase in periodontal diseases with age. Concerning awareness of dental health insurance policy, the better-educated respondents took a better view of this system as they showed a more positive interest in its policies and shifts. Conclusions: It is desirable to provide more precise information as to eligible age, frequency and cost through public promotion of health coverage of scaling, and the effort to improve the health insurance coverage policy should be made in order to extend the scope of health coverage of scaling in the near future.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of implant wearers about periodontal diseases and implant management, which were closely linked to implant durability, in an effort to obtain information on the right directions for oral health education related to implant self-care and specialized care. Methods : The subjects in this study were 217 patients who wore implant and visited 14 different dental hospitals and clinics in the metropolitan area. After a questioaire survey was conducted and collected data were analyed by the statistical package SPSS 18.0. Results : As for the awareness of the subjects on the regeneration of alveolar ridge by general characteristics, there were statistically significant intergroup gaps according to the number of possessed implant, implant satisfaction and subjective gingival health status(p<0.05). Regarding their awareness of implant durability by general characteristics, there were statistically significant gaps according to the number of possessed implant and oral health education experience(p<0.05). Concerning their awareness of the cycle of regular implant checkup by general characteristics, there were statistically significant gaps according to occupation, subjective gingival health status and oral health education experience(p<0.05). Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings suggest that in order to ensure the long-term safe maintenance of implant, the way of looking at periodontal diseases and implant management should be changed. Specifically, more intensive oral health education should be provided for implant wearers to be aware of the importance of self-care and specialized care to change their oral health behavior, and clinical dental hygienists should improve their role performance to make it happen.
Purpose: Artificial intelligence (AI) has had a profound impact on humanity; in particular, chatbots have been designed for interactivity and applied to many aspects of daily life. Chatbots are also regarded as an innovative modality in nursing education. This study aimed to identify nursing students' awareness of using chatbots and factors influencing their usage intention. Methods: This study, which employed a descriptive design using a self-reported questionnaire, was conducted at three university nursing schools located in Seoul, South Korea. The participants were 289 junior and senior nursing students. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaires, both online via a Naver Form and offline. Results: The total mean score of awareness of using chatbots was 3.49±0.61 points out of 5. The mean scores of the four dimensions of awareness of using chatbots were 3.37±0.60 for perceived value, 3.66±0.73 for perceived usefulness, 3.83±0.73 for perceived ease of use, and 3.36±0.87 for intention to use. Significant differences were observed in awareness of using chatbots according to satisfaction with nursing (p<.001), effectiveness of using various methods for nursing education (p<.001), and interest in chatbots (p<.001). The correlations among the four dimensions ranged from .52 to .80. In a hierarchical regression analysis, perceived value (β=.45) accounted for 60.2% of variance in intention to use. Conclusion: The results suggest that chatbots have the potential to be used in nursing education. Further research is needed to clarify the effectiveness of using chatbots in nursing education.

This study examines the human capital, economic capital, and psychological factors that influence social participation among the elderly in the future. The data, 'Survey on the Elderly in 2014', were collected from 'The Ministry of Health & Welfare' and the 'Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs'. The samples included 10,279 elderly people who were over 65 years of age. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the research model. The findings are as follows. First, the highest participation awareness level of all was for the hobbies and leisure activities, and the lowest participation awareness level was for volunteer activities. Second, human capital factors such as age, education level, and health status, and economic capital factors such as household consumption expenditure and standard of living signigicant affected social participation awareness among the elderly. Psychological factors such as self-esteem, depression, and the subjective age of becoming elderly, also affected the social participation awareness. Third, awareness differed by sex. In particular, age and depression were restrictions of social participation awareness that were more common among elderly women than among elderly men, although single women were more likely to participate in religious, learning, and hobby and leisure activities. In contrast, chronic diseases and household consumption expenditures were more restrictive of social participation awareness among elderly men compared to elderly women. These results show that human capital, economic capital, and psychological factors heavily influence the social participation awareness of the elderly, although the degree of influence of these factors differs by sex.
