  • We study on the privacy preserving data mining, PPDM for short, by using randomization. The theoretical PPDM based on the secure multi-party computation techniques is not practical for its computational inefficiency. So we concentrate on a practical PPDM, especially randomization technique. We survey various privacy measures and study on the privacy preserving mining of association rules by using randomization. We propose a new randomization operator, binomial selector, for privacy preserving technique of association rule mining. A binomial selector is a special case of a select-a-size operator by Evfimievski et al.[3]. Moreover we present some simulation results of detecting an appropriate parameter for a binomial selector. The randomization by a so-called cut-and-paste method in [3] is not efficient and has high variances on recovered support values for large item-sets. Our randomization by a binomial selector make up for this defects of cut-and-paste method.

  • In this paper addresses the low-level behavior of fuzzy control and the high-level behavior selector for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) based on a Fuzzy Artificial Immune Network. The sensing information that comes from ultrasonic sensors is the antigen it, and stimulates antibodies. There are many possible combinations of actions between action-patterns and external situations. The question is how to handle the situations to decide the proper action. We propose a fuzzy artificial immune network to solve the above problem. and the computer simulation for an AMR action selector shows the usefulness of the proposed action selector.

  • Neuromorphic systems require integrated structures with high-density memory and selector devices to avoid interference and recognition errors between neighboring memory cells. To improve the performance of a selector device, it is important to understand the characteristics of the switching process. As changes by switching cycle occur at local nanoscale areas, a high-resolution analysis method is needed to investigate this phenomenon. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) is used to analyze the local changes because it offers nanoscale detection with high-resolution capabilities. This review introduces various types of AFM such as conductive AFM (C-AFM), electrostatic force microscopy (EFM), and Kelvin probe force microscopy (KPFM) to study switching behaviors.

  • A stronger result than that of Park and Marron (1994) is proved here on the asymptotic distribution of the plug-in bandwidth selector. The new result is that the plug-in bandwidth selector may have the rate of convergence ($n^{-4/13}$ with less smoothness conditions on the unknown density functions than as described in Park and Marron's paper. Together with this, a class of various plug-in bandwidth selectors are considered and their asymptotic distributions are given. Finally, some ideas of possible improvements on those plug-in bandwidth selectors are provided.

  • Capillary electrophoretic direct chiral separation method is described for the determination of the absolute configuration of chiral aromatic acids, The enantiomeric separation was achieved by capillary electrophoresis using HP $\beta$-cyclodextrin (CD) as the chiral selector. The effect of CD concentration was investigated to optimize the chiral separation and resolution. When applied to microbial culture fluid. the present method allowed positive identification of chiral aromatic acids and their chirality as well.

  • The chiral stationary phase derived from (+) (18-crown-6)-2.3, 11.12-tetracarboxylic acid (18-C-6- TA) as a chiral selector has been employed for resolution of several $\alpha$-amino acids in HPLC. In a quest for the origin of chiral recognition of $\alpha$-amino acids in the presence of 18-C-6- T, A, as a chiral selector, these interactions responsible for the differential affinities shown toward enantioners were investigated by NNR spectroscopy. • (R)-N-3,5-dinitrobenzoyl (DNB) phenylglycinol derived chiral selector was used as a HPLC chiral stationary phase (CSP) for the resolution of racemic N-acylnaphthylalkylamines. In this study, determination of optical purity was performed by both chiral chromatography and NMR spectroscopy by using the (R)-phenylglycinol derived chiral selector. The data of accuracy and precision of each optical purity value are calculated from the results of NMR and HPLC experiments by comparing with true value. Average error of the NMR method was +2.2% with average RSD of 4.54%, while that of HPLC method was -3.5% with average RSD of 3.23%.

  • This paper proposes a new addition algorithm to improve the addition speed which is one of the important factors for data path functions. We have designed a fast 64-bit adder utilizing al dynamic chain architecture based on the proposed Sum-Selector Generation (SSG) algorithm. Proposed adder is designed with pass-transistor logicto achieve a high speed operation in low voltage circumstance. Realized 64-bit adder with 0.8.mu.m CMOS double-metal process technology has been fully tested. it operates at 185 MHz with 5.0V and chip area occupies 3.66mm$^{2}$. It is also demonstrated that designed adder operates even at 2.0V power supply condition.
