Photochromic Behavior and Its Stability of a New Bifunctional Dye Composed of Spirobenzopyran and a Cinnamoyl Moiety

  • A novel bifunctional dye composed of spirobenzopyran and a cinnamoyl moiety was prepared and its photochromic behavior under the illumination of monochromatic UV light was investigated. This colorless bifunctional dye exhibits typical photochromism in both the film and in solution, through the structural and geometrical transformation from spirobenzopyran to merocyanine accompanied by a photocrosslinking reaction between the cinnamoyl moieties. Two kinds of photochemical reaction were selectively achieved by irradiation with monochromatic UV light at wavelengths of 275 and 365 nm, respectively. The effect of the selective photochemical reaction on the photochromism of the dye and its decaying behavior was investigated.

  • Photochemical patterning of self-assembled mono layers (SAMs) has been performed by diode pumped solid state (DPSS) 3rd harmonic Nd:$YVO_4$ laser with wavelength of 355 nm. SAMs patternings of parallel lines have subsequently been used either to generate compositional chemical patterns or fabricate microstructures by a wet etching. This paper describes a selective etching process with patterned SAMs of alkanetiolate molecules on the surface of gold. SAMs formed by the adsorption of alkanethiols onto gold substrate employs as very thin photoresists. In this paper, the influence of the interaction between the functional group of SAMs and the etching solution is studied with optimal laser irradiation conditions. The results show that hydrophobic functional groups of SAMs are more effective for selective chemical etching than the hydrophilic ones.

  • $N_2O$는 주요 온실가스 성분의 하나로서 광화학 스모그의 유발, 산성비의 전구체 등 온실효과에 상당한 기여를 하고 있는 물질이다. 이러한 $N_2O$ 및 질소산화물을 제거하기 위하여 환원제를 이용한 Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) 반응 공정이 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Hydrotalcite 형태의 전구체로부터 Mixed Metal Oxide 촉매를 제조하고 그를 사용하여 $N_2O$ 분해를 위한 메탄 SCR 반응 및 CO의 생성효과를 비교 연구하였다. 실험결과 $CH_4$ 환원제의 첨가는 $N_2O$의 분해 반응에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 최적화된 $O_2/CH_4$ 비율의 조건에서 메탄의 부분산화에 의한 SCR 반응이 가장 높은 효율을 나타내는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Photochemical defluorination and substitution of fluorocarbon-resin surfaces using a pulsed Nd:YAG laser(266 nm) and copper-sulfate$(CuSO_4)$ aqueous solution were discussed. Interface of copper nuclei and fluorocabon-resin was chemically bonded through oxygen which was photodissociated from water in copper-sulfate aqueous solution under the laser irradiation. The reaction mechanism for chemical surface modification is discussed on the basis of x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and atomic force microscope analyses.

  • 구강악안면외과 영역의 전암병소와 종양의 치료를 위하여 국소적으로 ALA, 전신적으로 Forscan의 광감각제를 도포하거나 주입하여 기능적, 심미적으로 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 아직 장기적인 추적조사가 요구되지만 광역학 요법은 기존의 수술법, 항암요법, 방사선치료와 함께 종양의 새로운 치료방법으로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
