The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference in the degree of self-determination between the criteria that general high school students consider important when selecting subjects (hereinafter referred to as 'importance') and the criteria that are actually applied when selecting subjects (hereinafter referred to as 'implementation'), based on the existing motivation type discrimination scale and subject selection criteria scale. As a result of analysis based on the data of a total of 786 high school students, the degree of self-determination was found to be different for all 34 questions and 8 factors in importance and implementation. In general, the questions and factors showed a simple structure with the motivation types and showed the lowest correlation with the motivations at both ends of the self-determination continuum. Among the factors that students consider important when selecting subjects and the factors that are actually applied, the 'SAT' factor showed the highest positive correlation with identification control. In addition, it was found that autonomous subject selection was more preferred than subject selection based on extrinsic motivation. These results are not only meaningful as the first study to analyze the degree of self-determination in the subject selection of high school students, but also can be used as useful data for customized subject selection guidance according to the degree of self-determination. The implications of this study and suggestions for follow-up studies were discussed.

To decide the type of airplane to purchase in air service agencies is a typical matter of multi-criteria decision making process. The selection of airplane type is very important because it has great impact on the budget and management of air service agency, once the decision has been made. AHP is being recognized as one of many effective methods of multi-criteria decision making processes. In this study, checklist for the selecting optimum type of light airplane to be purchased is developed by the AHP.

The purpose of this study is to construct the fundamental data for setting a valid viewpoint as the base of landscape planning and management practices. To do this, we analyzed the preceding dissertations and landscape plan reports which presented the selection criteria of viewpoint. 37 research samples containing the criteria of viewpoint were investigated. The selection criteria and trends of viewpoint were analyzed as follows : Firstly, by analyzing the preceding researches we were able to grasp the criteria that had been used to set viewpoint. Secondly, we investigated the differences in criteria of selecting the viewpoint according to the research type, research time and view object. Finally, we analyzed the trends of viewpoint selection criteria and classified the characteristics and selection criteria of viewpoint based on an overview of the research content. It can be concluded that the criteria of viewpoint are intimately linked to the view object, the purpose and role of viewpoint which is related to the landscape planning and management practices. According to this study, we can find that the selection criteria and trends of viewpoint have been used in the research related to the view plane following the 1990's. Hereafter, additional research and the comparisons with researches abroad is necessary to set the objective selection criteria of viewpoint.

We studied franchisees’ answers to the questionnaires to know their selective motives and criteria, their types and the reliability of a franchisor in the food-service industry. Then we showed the basic data about the selective criteria of a sound franchisor. The result of this study was as follows. First, we need a specialist and a department to present a financially sound franchisor. Second, we must determine the criteria of franchise fee, royalty and the other items on payment for the franchisor. Third, the alternative plan to trust the franchisor was needed for a large-scale franchisee.

We consider the experimental design problem of selecting values of design variables x for observation of a response y that depends on x and on model parameters $\theta$. The form of the dependence may be quite general, including all linear and nonlinear modeling situations. The goal of the design selection is to efficiently estimate functions of $\theta$. Three new criteria for selecting design points x are presented. The criteria generalized the usual Bayesian optimal design criteria to situations n which the prior distribution for $\theta$ amy be uncertain. We assume that there are several possible prior distributions,. The new criteria are applied to the nonlinear problem of designing to estimate the turning point of a quadratic equation. We give both analytic and computational results illustrating the robustness of the optimal designs based on the new criteria.

The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in clothing purchase behaviors among groups determined by subjective and chronological ages. The subjects of this study were teens and adults of up to 59 years of age residing in Seoul and the Metropolitan areas. Out of 700, 578 were used for final data analysis, Chi-square analysis, ANOVA, Duncans multiple range test and descriptive statistics were used for statistics analysis. The following results were found: the subjects were divided into 3 groups based on the subjective age. All age groups tended to perceive subjective age similar to chronological one. Regarding evaluative criteria for selecting clothes and stores, significant differences were found among all chronological and subjective age groups. By chronological age levels, significant differences were found among subjective age groups except the teens in the evaluative criteria used for purchasing clothing. Significant differences were found among subjective age group in all chronological age brackets in store selection criteria.

The use of inappropriate procurement methods to deliver construction projects has long been acknowledged as a major source of poor project performance and is particularly problematic for the Libyan Construction Industry. Poor procurement method selection has been recognised as a major contributory factor to frequent time and cost overruns. This paper offers a way of selecting specific procurement methods to maximize successful project performance. The methodology involves an intensive review of relevant literature, followed by a semi-structured questionnaire survey. The key findings of the study reveal that 11 out of its 12 common selection criteria exhibit a significant contribution to one or more project performance criteria (time, cost and quality). Project clients should therefore prioritise these criteria when selecting a design-bid-build method. Knowledge of the criteria that contribute positively to project performance will also enable clients to work out, prior to and during construction, the best measures and provisions for successful project outcomes.

2007년 개정 교육과정의 시행에 따라 새로운 정보 교과서가 2010년부터 중학교 1학년에 적용된 뒤 중등학교로 점차적으로 확대 시행된다. 그러나 정보 교과서 선택을 위한 평가 관련 연구가 미미하며, 특히 중학교 정보 교과서에 대한 선택 기준 개발은 전무한 상태이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 중학교 정보 교과서 선택 기준의 제안을 연구 목표로 하며, 그 세부적인 연구 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기존의 교과서 평가 관련 연구들을 일반 교과서 선택 준거, 탐구성에 대한 교과서 분석법, 기존 중등 정보 교과서를 분석한 선행 연구로 나누어 분석한 뒤, 중학교 정보 교과서를 위한 선택 기준을 제안한다. 둘째, 제안된 정보 교과서 선택 기준과 타 평가준거를 사용하여 중학교 1학년 정보 교과서 5종을 비교 분석하였다. 끝으로 본 논문은 중학교 정보 교과서에 대한 선택 기준 제안과 비교 분석을 통해 정보 교과서의 선정에 도움을 주고, 향후 정보 교과서의 평가 연구를 위한 개발에 구체적인 방향을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Selecting an appropriate railway system in urban railway project is an important step for an efficient public transport policy. This paper attempts to solve the railway system selection problems in the (pre)feasibility study or preliminary research of urban railway project, by the rough transportation demand forecasting and financial analysis. There are two stages in this paper: in stage one, we review the worthwhile and various criteria which presented in precedent studies; whereas in stage two, an structured selection criteria is proposed for determining the appropriate railway system in urban railway project. The utilization of the proposed criteria is demonstrated with the case of a newtown in the metropolitan area. The results show that proposed criteria can be used to make the rational decision for governmental financial condition and social benefit.

Purpose: Serum thyroglobulin (Tg) determination has been reported to be a sensitive indicator of persistent or recurrent differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) after total thyroidetectomy. In patients free of metastasese and recurrences after a complete thyroidectomy and radioiodine removal for DTC, the Tg is usually <1 ng/mL or can no longer be detected even with TSH stimulation. Therefore, report in low Tg levels and selecting criteria for retest is very important. The purpose of this study was to establish selecting criteria for retest which is efficient at reliability improvement and Turn around time (TAT). Materials and Methods: Sera from 137 patients with DTC were divided into two groups as first(<1.0 ng/mL or >4.0 ng/mL) and second(1.0-4.0 ng/mL). In case of group(<1.0 ng/mL) is in patient free of metastases and recurrences, >4.0 ng/ml is low coefficient of variation (CV%) at internal quality control and good linearity at standard curve. Therefore first group began with Delta/Panic check (D/P) and second group surveyed with the latest results. In that the latest results were <1.0 ng/ml, we checked the thyroxin withdrawal. Finally selected specimen retested with raw specimen. Results: In first group, we was able to reduce the retest rate(30.8% to 7.7%). and In second group, 40% to 5%. The total retest rate was 7.3%. Conclusion: If using the selecting criteria for retest, is helpful to accuracy and quickness of the result report.
