  • In Mobile IP protocol, because a mobile node still uses its home IP address even though it moves to foreign network from home network, authentication among mobile node, foreign network and home network is critical issue. Many researches about this issue have been based on shared secret, for example mobile node and home agent authenticate each other with pre-shared symmetry key. And they missed several security issues such as replay attack. Although public key scheme could be applied to this issue easily, since the public key cryptography is computationally complicated, it still has the problem that it is not practical to realistic environment. In this paper, we describe several security issues in Mobile IP protocol. And we propose new Mobile IP authentication protocol that is applicable to realistic environment using public key algorithm based on certificate. It has scalability for mobile nodes and is applicable to the original Mobile IP protocol without any change. Finally we prove security of the proposed protocol and that it might not affect performance of the original Mobile IP protocol.

  • ID security policy is generally formulated from the input of many members of an organization, including security officials, line managers, and ID resource specialists. However, policy is ultimately approved and issued by the organization's senior management. In environments where employees feel inundated with policies, directives, guidelines and procedures, an ID security policy should be introduced in a manner that ensures that management's unqualified support is clear. This paper will discuss Next Generation Cyber Certificate security policy in terms of the different types program-level and issue-specific, components, and Design and Implementation of Security Algorithm Simulation based on 4GL, PowerBuilder7.0.

  • In the last few years, the massive development in wireless networks, high internet speeds and improvement in car manufacturing has shifted research focus to Vehicular Ad-HOC Networks (VANETs). Consequently, many related frameworks are explored, and it is found that security is the primary issue for VANETs. Despite that, a small number of research studies have taken into consideration the identification of performance standards and parameters. In this paper, VANET security frameworks are explored, studied and analysed which resulted in the identification of a list of performance evaluation parameters. These parameters are defined and categorized based on the nature of parameter (security or general context). These parameters are identified to be used by future researchers to evaluate their proposed VANET security frameworks. The implementation paradigms of security frameworks are also identified, which revealed that almost all research studies used simulation for implementation and testing. The simulators used in the simulation processes are also analysed. The results of this study showed that most of the surveyed studies used NS-2 simulator with a percentage of 54.4%. The type of scenario (urban, highway, rural) is also evaluated and it is found that 50% studies used highway urban scenario in simulation.

  • Database-as-a-Service is one of the prime services provided by Cloud Computing. It provides data storage and management services to individuals, enterprises and organizations on pay and uses basis. In which any enterprise or organization can outsource its databases to the Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and query the data whenever and wherever required through any devices connected to the internet. The advantage of this service is that enterprises or organizations can reduce the cost of establishing and maintaining infrastructure locally. However, there exist some database security, privacychallenges and query performance issues to access data, to overcome these issues, in our recent research, developed a database security model using a deterministic encryption scheme, which improved query execution performance and database security level. As this model is implemented using a deterministic encryption scheme, it may suffer from chosen plain text attack, to overcome this issue. In this paper, we proposed a new model for cloud database security using nondeterministic encryption, order preserving encryption, homomorphic encryptionand database distribution schemes, andour proposed model supports execution of queries with equality check, range condition and aggregate operations on encrypted cloud database without decryption. This model is more secure with optimal query execution performance.

  • Recently, a social issue has arisen involving RDDoS attacks following the sending of threatening emails to security administrators of companies and institutions. According to a report published by the Korea Internet & Security Agency and the Ministry of Science and ICT, survey results indicate that DDoS attacks are increasing. However, the top response in the survey highlighted the difficulty in countering DDoS attacks due to issues related to security personnel and costs. In responding to DDoS attacks, administrators typically detect anomalies through traffic monitoring, utilizing security equipment and programs to identify and block attacks. They also respond by employing DDoS mitigation solutions offered by external security firms. However, a challenge arises from the initial failure in early response to DDoS attacks, leading to frequent use of detection and mitigation measures. This issue, compounded by increased costs, poses a problem in effectively countering DDoS attacks. In this paper, we propose a system that creates detection rules, periodically collects traffic using mail detection and IDS, notifies administrators when rules match, and Based on predefined threshold, we use IPS to block traffic or DDoS mitigation. In the absence of DDoS mitigation, the system sends urgent notifications to administrators and suggests that you apply for and use of a cyber shelter or DDoS mitigation. Based on this, the implementation showed that network traffic was reduced from 400 Mbps to 100 Mbps, enabling DDoS response. Additionally, due to the time and expense involved in modifying detection and blocking rules, it is anticipated that future research could address cost-saving through reduced usage of DDoS mitigation by utilizing artificial intelligence for rule creation and modification, or by generating rules in new ways.

  • With the advent of ubiquitous computing society, many advanced technologies have enabled wireless sensor networks which consist of small sensor nodes. However, the sensor nodes have limited computing resources such as small size memory, low battery life, short transmission range, and low computational capabilities. Thus, decreasing energy consumption is one of the most significant issues in wireless sensor networks. In addition, numerous applications for wireless sensor networks are recently spreading to various fields (health-care, surveillance, location tracking, unmanned monitoring, nuclear reactor control, crop harvesting control, u-city, building automation etc.). For many of them, supporting security functionalities is an indispensable feature. Especially in case wireless sensor networks should provide a sufficient variety of security functions, sensor nodes are required to have more powerful performance and more energy demanding features. In other words, simultaneously providing security features and saving energy faces a trade-off problem. This paper presents a novel energy-efficient security architecture in an IEEE 802.15.4-based wireless sensor network called the Hybrid Adaptive Security (HAS) framework in order to resolve the trade off issue between security and energy. Moreover, we present a performance analysis based on the experimental results and a real implementation model in order to verify the proposed approach.
