  • This paper will present some basic and simple graphical methods of exploratory data analysis for the instrument of data analysis at school mathematics. Human beings perceive visual patterns more readily than patterns in collections of numbers. This is especially important in exploratory data analysis because pictures dramatically reveal things that we did not expect to find in the data set. Here are graphical methods as the stem and leaf plot, the box plot, the star plot and the face plot. These methods impulse the motivation of students in real life. And the subject can be taught in secondary school with several applications. Also It is important for students to get a feel for working with and manipulating data before studying the more theoretical aspects of statistics.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate factor of principals' trust in teachers which principals of secondary school recognized and to explore their needs on building trust in teachers. For this purpose, this study used survey question of which investigated conception of principals' trust in teachers and performed with 296 secondary school principals. First, gap of two statuses was proven by t-test. Second, the order of priority was presented by Borich model. Third, the result of the locus for focus model was presented in the form of coordinate plane. Lastly, top priority and the second priority were determined. The result of this study was as following. 'Class management, instruction, and caring for students' category is highest in needs of secondary school principals on trust in teachers. Next, second priority category is 'partnership with parents'. It means secondary school principals recognize that students and parents are most important on education and their trust in teachers. Based on the review, finding and implications are discussed.

  • Cosmic rays are ions that move at relativistic speeds. They generate secondary cosmic rays by successive collisions with atmospheric particles, and then, the secondary particles reach the ground. The secondary particles are mainly neutrons and muons, and the neutrons are observed by the ground neutron monitor. This study compared the diurnal variation in cosmic ray intensity obtained via harmonic analysis and that obtained through the pile-up method, which was examined in a previous study. In addition, we analyzed the maximum phase of the diurnal variation using four neutron monitors with a cutoff rigidity below approximately 6 GV, located at similar longitudes to the Oulu and Rome neutron monitors. Expanding the data of solar cycles 20-24, we examined the time of the maximum cosmic ray intensity, that is, the maximum phase regarding the solar cyclic modulation. During solar cycles 20-24, the maximum phase derived by harmonic analysis showed no significant difference with that derived by the pile-up method. Thus, the pile-up method, a relatively straightforward process to analyze diurnal variation, could replace the complex harmonic analysis. In addition, the maximum phase at six neutron monitors shows the 22-year cyclic variation very clearly. The maximum phase tends to appear earlier and increase the width of the variation in solar cycles as the cutoff rigidity increases.

  • With the emergence and advancement of artificial intelligence, the world is rapidly changing. As artificial intelligence is applied across various fields of society, individuals must develop the ability to understand and effectively utilize it. Consequently, interest in AI literacy has been growing. This study was conducted to measure AI literacy among pre-service secondary school teachers. An online survey was administered to 105 students enrolled in the College of Education at A University. Data analysis included descriptive analysis, independent samples t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The results are as follows. First, an analysis of the mean differences in AI literacy sub-factors and overall scores by gender revealed that female pre-service teachers scored higher than males in AI understanding, AI usage, AI application, and AI literacy overall, with these differences being statistically significant. Second, based on the number of courses completed related to teaching methods, there were statistically significant differences in AI creation and AI identification. Specifically, pre-service teachers who had not completed any relevant courses scored lower in AI creation and AI identification compared to those who had completed at least one course. Third, the overall level of AI literacy among pre-service secondary school teachers was found to be relatively low. Based on these findings, implications for teacher education are discussed.

  • Objectives: As the suspicion was raised that 'Agent Orange' was reclaimed 30 years ago at Camp Carol, located in Waegwan, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the government conducted an investigation of the influence of environmental and health effects around Camp Carol through a public-private joint investigation team. As part of the investigation of population health effects, this study was carried out in order to observe changes and regional differences in diseases, particularly cancer, by year. Methods: We authors conducted an analysis of secondary health data, such as cancer registration data, mortality data, and health insurance data. We drew an age standardized incidence ratio (SIR), death rate (SDR), mortality ratio (SMR), and health care utilization rate using these data. Results: For gastric cancer in women, and other cancers in men, a significant increase in incidence was observed compared to the control area. For biliary tract cancer, gallbladder cancer, and thyroid cancer in women, and prostate cancer in men, a significant decrease in incidence was observed compared to the control area. In the national statistical analysis of data, such as health insurance data and mortality data, we did not observe a significant increase at the Waegwan region compared to other regions. Conclusions: We must consider the limitations of this study. Because thirty years have passed from the time of the estimated landfill of 'Agent Orange', recent national statistical data may not reflect the past real situation. Therefore, the monitoring of secondary data for health effects at the municipal level should be carried out continuously.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a method for identifying target markets of potential urban park users by their sociodemographic variables. Data was classified into(ⅰ) users vs. nonusers ; (ⅱ) of chosen three urban parks ; or(ⅲ) users of each urban park then analyzed by discriminant analysis. The results showed that linear combination of selected sociodemographic variables could be used for identifying target markets in some cases. In general, season and sex were the most powerful discriminant variables. But the other cases were not satisfactory. The weak points of this study due to adapting secondary data for analysis were discussed.
