포항지역 지열수에 대한 지화학적 고찰

  • To investigate the evidence for the influence of sea water on Pohang geothermal groundwater, the chemical data for geothermal groundwaters from which are pumped during 48 hours and other hot groundwaters, another groundwater on the well for the purpose of agriculture, were considered. And to predict possible the secondary mineral which are easily to make the clogging, geochemical modeling was carried out using EQ3NR equilibrium solubility code. The results are that 1.4%~3.3%(bulk composition) of sea water were mixed with geothermal groundwater. From the well logging data, when the level of groundwater is drow down, the conductivity is increased in the geothermal groundwater, the existence of transition zone are recognized in the well. The predicted possible secondary minerals are Antigorite [Mg48Si24O85(OH)62], Chrysolite [Mg3Si2O5(OH)4] , Cristobalite, Dolomite, Talc, Tremolite. The recommended cooling temperature of best condition to minimize the production of secondary minerals is same as temperature of geothermal water pumped from the well.

Protecting Individuals from Secondary Privacy Loss using Breached Personal Data Information Center (개인정보 오.남용 방지 및 보호를 위한 정보공유센터 프레임워크)

  • This study focused on the role of the center for private information, which can manage and share the personal data from data breach incidents. Especially, this study addresses on the importance of establishing information management systems for preventing secondary misappropriation of breached personal data and private information. The database of breached personal data can be used for reducing privacy worries of potential victims of secondary misuse of personal data. Individuals who use the same IDs and passwords on multiple websites may find this service more effective and necessary. The effectiveness of this breached data center on reducing secondary privacy infringement may differ depending on the extend of data being shared and the conditions of data submission. When businesses experienced data breach and submission of data to this center is required by the law, the accuracy and effectiveness of this service can be enhanced. In addition, centralized database with high quality data set can increase matching for private information and control the secondary misappropriation of personal data or private information better.

Disorders of Secondary Neurulation : Mainly Focused on Pathoembryogenesis

  • Recent advancements in basic research on the process of secondary neurulation and increased clinical experience with caudal spinal anomalies with associated abnormalities in the surrounding and distal structures shed light on further understanding of the pathoembryogenesis of the lesions and led to the new classification of these dysraphic entities. We summarized the changing concepts of lesions developed from the disordered secondary neurulation shown during the last decade. In addition, we suggested our new pathoembryogenetic explanations for a few entities based on the literature and the data from our previous animal research. Disordered secondary neurulation at each phase of development may cause corresponding lesions, such as failed junction with the primary neural tube (junctional neural tube defect and segmental spinal dysgenesis), dysgenesis or duplication of the caudal cell mass associated with disturbed activity of caudal mesenchymal tissue (caudal agenesis and caudal duplication syndrome), failed ingression of the primitive streak to the caudal cell mass (myelomeningocele), focal limited dorsal neuro-cutaneous nondisjunction (limited dorsal myeloschisis and congenital dermal sinus), neuro-mesenchymal adhesion (lumbosacral lipomatous malformation), and regression failure spectrum of the medullary cord (thickened filum and filar cyst, low-lying conus, retained medullary cord, terminal myelocele and terminal myelocystocele). It seems that almost every anomalous entity of the primary neural tube may occur in the area of secondary neurulation. Furthermore, the close association with the activity of caudal mesenchymal tissue in secondary neurulation involves a wider range of surrounding structures than in primary neurulation. Although the majority of the data are from animals, not from humans and many theories are still conjectural, these changing concepts of normal and disordered secondary neurulation will provoke further advancements in our management strategies as well as in the pathoembryogenetic understanding of anomalous lesions in this area.

Analysis of Generating Mechanism of Secondary Flows in Turbulent Open-Channel Flows using DNS Data (DNS 자료를 이용한 개수로에서 이차흐름의 생성메커니즘 분석)

  • Using DNS data for turbulent flows in an open-channel with sidewalls, the mechanisms by which secondary flows are generated and by which Reynolds shear stresses are created, are demonstrated. Near the sidewall, secondary flows invading towards the sidewall are observed in the regions of both lower and upper corners, while secondary flows ejecting from the sidewall towards the center of the channel are created elsewhere. The distributions of Reynolds shear stresses near the sidewall are analyzed, connecting their productions with coherent structures. A quadrant analysis shows that sweeps are dominant in two corner regions where secondary flows invading towards the sidewall are generated, but that ejections are dominant in the region where secondary flows ejecting towards the center of the channel are created. Also, conditional quadrant analyses reveal that the productions of Reynolds shear stresses and the patterns of secondary flows are determined by the directional tendencies of coherent structures.

Analysis of Water Loss Rate and Irrigation Efficiency in Irrigation Canal at the Dong-Jin District (동진지구 관개용수로의 손실률 및 관개효율 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the paddy irrigation efficiency using real-time water level monitoring data and intermittent irrigation model in Gimjae, Dong-Jin irrigation district. For this study, the real-time water level data in Gimjae main canal and other secondary canals were collected from 2012 to 2014 and converted to daily discharge using rating curve in each canal. From intermittent irrigation model in paddy, irrigation water requirement was estimated and irrigation efficiency was calculated. The average amount of irrigation water supply per unit irrigation area was 1,011 mm in Gimjae main canal for 12,749 ha irrigation area, 1,011 mm in the secondary canal of upper region and 1,470 mm in the secondary canal of lower region. The median irrigation loss was 43 % in Gimjae main canal, 25 % in secondary canal of upper region and 35 % in the secondary canal of lower region. The larger irrigation area is, the irrigation loss rates tend to decrease in secondary canals. Monthly median irrigation losses in upper region were 10 (June) - 40 % (September) and those in lower region were 25 (May) to 40 % (April, June, August, and September). The results of canal management loss can be available as the basic data for irrigation water management and estimating guideline of optimal irrigation water supply to improve agricultural water use efficiencies.

Clues to Understand the Regulatory Metabolisms Governing the Biosynthesis of Fungal Secondary Metabolites

  • Fungi are of particular interest due to their capacity to produce an extensive array of secondary metabolites. While many secondary metabolites have no known functions to the producing fungal organisms, these metabolites have tremendous importance to humans with beneficial (e.g., antibiotics) or detrimental (e.g., mycotoxins) properties. In this study, two important filamentous fungi, Fusarium verticillioides and Mycosphaerella graminicola were selected as target species and the genes regulatory functions on the biosynthesis of secondary metabolisms were studied. Functional genomics including forward and reverse genetics, and proteomics were utilized to better understand the complex secondary metabolism regulations in both F. verticillioides and M. graminicola. Identified genes in either F. verticillioides or M. graminicola background were CPP1 (a putative protein phosphatase gene), GAC1 (encoding a GTPase activating protein), MCC1(encoding c-type cyclin), and the velvet gene, MVE1. Our data suggest that there are diverse regulatory genes on fungal secondary metabolites with distinct or overlapping functional roles.

Perspectives : The Role of Clinicians in Understanding Secondary Neurulation

  • During the last two decades, there have been remarkable advances in knowledge regarding secondary neurulation. An increased number of cases of occult spinal dysraphism and progress in basic embryology research have provoked the continuous discovery of new disease entities and the reclassification of occult spinal dysraphic lesions. Examples of such changes are described. The characteristics of secondary neurulation compared with those of primary neurulation are listed and discussed. Our fundamental questions include what the evolutionary significance of secondary neurulation is and what the advantages of having secondary neurulation are. However, our current data and speculations are insufficient to support scientific inference. The direction of future progress of research in this field is predicted. The role of clinicians in this progress is emphasized.

Architectures of Convolutional Neural Networks for the Prediction of Protein Secondary Structures (단백질 이차 구조 예측을 위한 합성곱 신경망의 구조)

  • Deep learning has been actively studied for predicting protein secondary structure based only on the sequence information of the amino acids constituting the protein. In this paper, we compared the performances of the convolutional neural networks of various structures to predict the protein secondary structure. To investigate the optimal depth of the layer of neural network for the prediction of protein secondary structure, the performance according to the number of layers was investigated. We also applied the structure of GoogLeNet and ResNet which constitute building blocks of many image classification methods. These methods extract various features from input data, and smooth the gradient transmission in the learning process even using the deep layer. These architectures of convolutional neural networks were modified to suit the characteristics of protein data to improve performance.

Affecting Factors of Nurses' Burnout in Secondary General Hospitals (2차 종합병원 간호사의 소진에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 심리.성격 특성과 업무특성중심으로-)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors affecting nurses' burnout in secondary general hospitals. Methods: Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 241 nurses working at the secondary general hospitals with below 400 beds in the P, C, and S city between April and May, 2009. Data analysis was done with independent t test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple stepwise multiple regression with SPSS WIN v 17.0. Results: Burnout was significantly different according to religion, age, clinical experiences, and shift work. Burnout score of the subjects was 58/100. Burnout of the subjects were positively correlated with job stress and negatively correlated with hardness, self efficiency, self esteem, spiritual wellbeing, social support, and job satisfaction. The explained variances for burnout was 51.8% and factors affecting nurses' burnout in secondary general hospitals were job stress, hardness, self efficiency, job satisfaction and shift work. Conclusion: These results showed the significant factors fo nurses' burnout in secondary general hospitals. These findings can be utilized to development of strategies for reducing job stress and enhancing hardness, self efficiency and job satisfaction.

Optimal Spectrum Sensing Framework based on Estimated Miss Detection Probability for Aggregated Data Slots in Cognitive Radio Networks (무선 인지 네트워크에서 군집형 데이터 슬롯의 미검출 확률 추정에 기반한 최적 스펙트럼 센싱 구조)

  • In cognitive radio networks, several research works typically address the framework which consists of a spectrum sensing period and a data transmission period. When the frame period is short, there is the problem that the throughput of secondary users decrease. In this paper, aggregated data slot structure is considered to increase the throughput of secondary users. Chapman-Kolmogorov equation is used for the modeling of the transmission probability of primary users and formulation of an optimization problem to maximize the throughput of secondary users. Solution of the optimization problem results in the optimal spectrum sensing time, the length of data slot and the number of data slots governed by a spectrum sensing.
