Protein Secondary Structure Prediction using Multiple Neural Network Likelihood Models

  • Predicting Alpha-helicies, Beta-sheets and Turns of a proteins secondary structure is a complex non-linear task that has been approached by several techniques such as Neural Networks, Genetic Algorithms, Decision Trees and other statistical or heuristic methods. This project introduces a new machine learning method by combining Bayesian Inference with offline trained Multilayered Perceptron (MLP) models as the likelihood for secondary structure prediction of proteins. With varying window sizes of neighboring amino acid information, the information is extracted and passed back and forth between the Neural Net and the Bayesian Inference process until the posterior probability of the secondary structure converges.

  • A coupling capacitor voltage transformer (CCVT) is used in an extra high voltage power system to obtain the standard low voltage signal for protection and measurement. To suppress the effects of ferro-resonance more effectively, a three winding CCVT is used. This paper proposes an algorithm for compensating the secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT. With the secondary voltage of the three winding CCVT, the secondary and tertiary currents are obtained; the primary winding current is obtained by considering non-linear characteristics of the core; the voltage across the capacitor and the inductor are calculated and then added to the measured voltage to compensate the secondary voltage. Test results indicate that the algorithm can reduce the errors of the three winding CCVT significantly.

Studies on Distribution of Secondary Amines in Raw Marine Fishes (해산류(海産類)중의 제(第)2급(級) 아민분포(分布)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • The materials carcinogenic agent, nitrosoamine, is distributed in food circumstances, and is formed when both nitrite and secondary amine are present. Nitrites are added to fishes as a color fixative or preservative and secondary amines exist in fishes. In order to find the distribution and contents of secondary amines, analysis of 19 kinds of fish was conducted. The results showed that, significant differences were not observed in the quantity of secondary amines in 19 kinds of fish by district. The highest value was 20.29 ppm in Theragra chalocogramma and the lowest was 0.022 ppm in Ostrea denselamellosa. Six fishes below 1 ppm were Nibea imbricata, Misgurnus mizolepis, Astroconger myriaster, Evynnis Japonica, Ostrea denselamellosa and Solen gouldi. Dimethyl amine only was identified and diethylamine or diphenylamine was not detected in all kinds of 19 fishes.

  • Predicting secondary structure of protein through assigned backbone chemical shifts has been used widely because of its convenience and flexibility. In spite of its usefulness, chemical shift based analysis has some defects including isotopic shifts and solvent interaction. Here, it is shown that corrected chemical shift analysis for secondary structure of protein. It is included chemical shift correction through consideration of deuterium isotopic effect and calculate chemical shift index using probability-based methods. Enhanced method was applied successfully to one of the proteins from Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It is suggested that correction of chemical shift analysis could increase accuracy of secondary structure prediction of protein and small molecule in solution.

  • Combustion experiments are carried out to obtain the fundamental data for application of a internally circulating fluidized bed combustor to the combustion of paper sludge wastes. Experimental parameters are identified as secondary air ratio, sludge weight and water contents. The secondary air ratio was varied from 0 to 20% and water content was 14%, 25%, 35%, 45%, 62% and sludge weight was 30g, 60g, 90g. As a result, carbon conversion ratio was higher than injection of primary air. Emission of CO and NOx reduced with an increase of secondary air injection.

On The Creep Threshold Stress in Secondary Recrystallized ODS MA NiAl (이차 재결정화된 기계적 합금화 ODS NiAl의 creep threshold stress에 관한 고찰)

  • NiAl based ODS (Oxide Dispersion Strengthened) intermetallic alloys have been produced by mechanical alloying (MA) process and consolidated by hot extrusion. Subsequent thermomechanical treatments have been applied to induce secondary recrystallization in an attempt to improve creep resistance in this material. The creep behavior of secondary recrystallized MA NiAl has been investigated and compared with those of as-extruded condition. Minimum creep rate were shown to be approximately two orders of magnitude lower than that in as-extruded condition. The improvement in creep resistance is believed due to the grain coarsening, restricting of dispersoid coarsening as well as increase in grain aspect ratio. Creep threshold stress behavior, below which no measurable creep rate can be detected, has been discussed on the basis of particle-dislocation interaction theory. The threshold stress becomes negligible after secondary recrystallization in MA NiAl, presumably due to dispersoid coarsening and a decrease in grain boundary area during secondary recrystallization.

An Integrated Game Theoretical Approach for Primary and Secondary Users Spectrum Sharing in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • In this paper, we address the problem of bandwidth sharing among multiple primary users and multiple secondary users in a cognitive radio network. In cognitive radio networks, effective spectrum assignment for primary and secondary users is a challenge due to the available broad range of radio frequency spectrum as well as the requisition of harmonious coexistence of both users. To handle this problem, firstly, Bertrand game model is used to analyze a spectrum pricing in which multiple primary users emulate with each other to acquire maximal profit. After that, we employ Cournot game to model the spectrum sharing of secondary users to obtain optimal profit for each user also. Simulation results show that our scheme obtains optimal solution at Nash equilibrium.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental medicine on 2 patients with secondary amenorrhea. Methods: The patients who had secondary amenorrhea were treated by oriental medical treatments such as herbal medication(Gami-joukyung-tang, Gwibi-tanggagam-bang), acupuncture and moxibustion therapy. Results: After oriental medical treatments, the patients could have their periods again and their menstrual condition was improved. Conclusion: This case report shows that the oriental medical therapy is effective for treating secondary amenorrhea.

  • Objectives: To report the effect of oriental medicine on 2 patients with secondary amenorrhea caused by autoimmune disease and thyroid grand disease. Methods: The patients who had secondary amenorrhea caused by autoimmune disease and thyroid grand disease were treated with the oriental medical treatments such as herbal medication, herbal acupuncture and moxibustion therapy. Results: After the oriental medical treatments, the patients could have their menstrual cycle again and menstrual condition was also improved. Conclusion: This case report shows that the oriental medical therapy is effective for curing secondary amenorrhea caused by autoimmune disease and thyroid grand disease.

  • This study purpose is extract on the architectural principles and architectural planning direction for Integrated Secondary School. The integrated secondary school has an expectation of the total education environment in which has some problem as regional, teaching, treatment, establishment equipment part because of the based relative establishments are abolished. The expectations are the education effective rising, the reduce of the responsibility of the teacher, a smooth teacher placing and saving the educating estimate. As the new education course propulsion is raising the school and students discretion and expanding the way of educating, being close to the course of studies, the integrated operation is earnestly needed and such as these versatile background the small school will keep on getting integrated. Investigate about the senses of the manager and teachers, so after these reserch I've concluded these things below about the integrated secondary school.
