Effects of oral administration with fermented product from sewage in land-based seawater fish farm on haematological disturbance in the olive flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus was investigated. After 4 weeks of conditioning with a basal diet, fish were divided into 4 groups and provided experimental diet (0.1, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0%) supplement of fermented sewage for 80 days. Proximal analysis was performed for the product of sewage which was fermented by lactic acid and yeast. RBC count, hemoglobin concentration and hematocrit value were increased according to the treated periods, however, no statistical difference was observed between control and treatment groups. There were no significant difference in serum organic, inorganic compounds and enzyme activities between control and treatment groups. This study hypothesized that the supplement of fermented product from sewage in land-based seawater fish farm might be an additive supplement for source of fish diet in view of haematological examination. Recycling of the sewage may be an economic artificial sources of diet for fish aquaculture practices.

This paper shows the results of a study that predicts changes in seawater conditions in sea farms using machine learning-based long short term memory (LSTM) algorithms. Hardware was implemented using dissolved oxygen, salinity, nitrogen ion concentration, and water temperature measurement sensors to collect seawater condition information from sea farms, and transferred to a cloud-based Firebase database using LoRa communication. Using the developed hardware, seawater condition information around fish farms in Tongyeong and Geoje was collected, and LSTM algorithms were applied to learning results using these actual datasets to obtain predictive results showing 87% accuracy. Flask and REST APIs were used to provide users with predictive results for each of the four parameters, including dissolved oxygen. These predictive results are expected to help fishermen reduce significant damage caused by fish group death by providing changes in sea conditions in advance.

In this study, we analyzed the compositional characteristics of Melosira nummuloides mass-cultured using Jeju lava seawater. M. nummuloides showed the highest growth rate when cultured for 14 days at 17-20℃ and 15,000 lx. Proximate composition of raw-material (RM) and freeze-dried M. nummuloides (FM) showed high ash content (65-72%), while ethanol-extracted M. nummuloides (EM) had low ash and high lipid contents. The predominantly occurring mineral, Si, was 334 g/kg in RM and 269 g/kg in FM, but EM contained only 1.97 g/kg. The ratio of essential amino acids was similar in RM (38.93%) and FM (36.89%) lower in EM (17.83%), but branched chain amino acids required for muscle metabolism was high (63.40%). The polyunsaturated fatty acids of EM (34.74%) was 11% more than that in RM (23.81%), and the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids was 1:3.6. Furthermore, the concentration of total chlorophyll was higher by 5.15 times (62.32 mg/g) and that of fucoxanthin by 7.06 times (11.02 mg/g) in EM than in RM (12.11, 1.56 mg/g, respectively). The mass cultivation and filtration of M. nummuloides using lava seawater has high prospects of commercialization as a competitive bio silica, cosmetic and healthy functional food material.
To increase electrolysis performance, the applicability of seawater to the iron-fed electro-Fenton process was considered. Three kinds of graphite electrodes (activated carbon fiber-ACF, carbon felt, graphite) and dimensionally stable anode (DSA) electrode were used to select a cathode having excellent hydrogen peroxide generation and organic decomposition ability. The concentration of hydrogen peroxide produced by ACF was 11.2 mg/L and those of DSA, graphite, and carbon felt cathodes were 12.9 ~ 13.9 mg/L. In consideration of durability, the DSA electrode was selected as the cathode. The optimum current density was found to be 0.11 A/㎠, the optimal Fe2+ dose was 10 mg/L, and the optimal ratio of Fe2+ dose and hydrogen peroxide was determined to be 1:1. The optimum air supply for hydrogen peroxide production and Rhodamine B (RhB) degradation was determined to be 1 L/min. The electro-Fenton process of adding iron salt to the electrolysis reaction may be shown to be more advantageous for RhB degradation than when using iron electrode to produce hydrogen peroxide and iron ion, or electro-Fenton reaction with DSA electrode after generating iron ions using an iron electrode.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential of zeolite-supported sulfatereducing bacteria (SRB) in enhancing the removal of Cu2+, Ni2+, and Cr6+ in contaminated seawater. Our results show that SRB-immobilized zeolite carriers can enhance the removal of heavy metals. In addition, heavy metals were generally better removed at conditions of 37°C. Cu2+, Ni2+, and Cr6+ were effectively removed by 98.2%, 90.1%, and 99.8% at 100 parts per million concentration of the heavy metals, respectively. These results indicate that SRB-zeolite carriers hold great potential for use in the removal of cationic heavy metal species from marine environment.

In this study, we have developed a microbe-carrier that combined Desulfovibrio desulfuricans and zeolite for removal of Zn and As in contaminated seawater. Desulfovibrio desulfuricans, one of the sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) microorganism was exhibited stable growth characteristics in highly salted water and strong resistance to Zn and As contaminated seawater. Moreover, zeolites are one of the most useful carrier to remove heavy metals from wastewaters. The results showed that SRB immobilized zeolite carrier can enhance removal ratio of Zn and As. In addition, heavy metals tended to be better removed in medium at conditions of $37^{\circ}C$. In case of heavy metal concentration, they were effectively removed ranging from 50 to 100 ppm. These results show that SRB-zeolite carriers hold great potential to remove cationic heavy metal species from industrial wastewater in marine environment.

TEvaporator is key component in food, seawater distillation and waste water treatment system, which is basically to concentrate the raw liquid by evaporating the pure water under vacuum condition. The liquid concentration is performed through the membrane, electro-dialysis and evaporation. In this study, only the evaporating type was treated for evaluating the economic analysis with the various operating conditions. The results of this study showed that the performance of the OT-MSF desalination system is increased with decreasing the temperature difference between the neighboring evaporators, which means that the number of evaporators is increased, under the determined design conditions.
Grateloupia filicina (J.V. Lamouroux) C. Agardh (Halymeniaceae, Cryptonemiales, Rhodophyta) is an edible seaweed as well as an important source of carrageenan. In the present study, attempt has been made to develop a suitable protocol for effective regeneration of the seaweed and the rapid multiplication of the desired varieties. The young upright thallus of G. filicina was grown in axenic culture using both solid and liquid media. The various media tested were f/2, Provasoli’s Enriched Seawater (PES) and Enriched Seawater (ESW). The effect of glycerol (as a carbon source) and various plant growth regulators i.e. auxin (NAA) and cytokinins (Kinetin and BA) were tested. Although, regeneration of young thalli was observed from the cut ends in all the media, better growth was found in f/2, PES, f/2 (0.5% Glycerol), f/2 (NAA ${10^{-5}}_M)\;and\;f/2\;(BA\;{10^{-6}}_M$). On the other hand callusing was observed only in solid media supplemented with low concentration of Glycerol (0.5%) in f/2, NAA ${10^{-5}}_M\;in\;f/2,\;PES\;and\;BA\;{10^{-5}}_M$ in f/2. Young thalli were developed from the callus sub culture after 40 days of inoculation.
Variations of dissolved oxygen were studied for two years in two brackish lakes, Etang de Berre and Etang de Vaine related to the north-west Mediteranean Sea. The variations also were studied at the same time in nearby seawater, and in the four main tributaries of Etang de Berre. The distributions of dissolved oxygen values and their spatio-temporal variations were well matched with the characteristics of the water masses in different environments. The concentration of dissolved oxygen and the rate of oxygen saturation in seawater (Carry-le-Rouet) ranged from 5.0 to 6.0 ml.1$\^$-1/, and from 95 to 105%, respectively. The amount of dissolved oxygen in Etang de Berre oscillated between 0.17 and 11.43 ml.1$\^$-1/ with an average of 7.40ml1$\^$-1/.The rate of oxygen saturation oscillated between 2.9 and 168.3%. Annual values of the four tributaries are as follows (ml.1$\^$-1/ and %): Durance:8.68 and 113.6;Arc : 6.87 and 95.3;Touloubre: 6.87 and 91.0;Durancole;6.36 and 96.8 The data for the evolutions of dissolved oxygen in Etang de Berre on the period between 1965 and 1978 are presented. A rather good negative correlation links oxygen with temperatures.
During the last two decades, many industrial complexes for heavy and chemical industries have been established along the Korean coastline, thereby increasing the pollution materials burden on the coastal environment of seawater. Masan Bay is one of the most polluted coastal areas in Korea and the main soures of pollutants are domestic and industrial wastewater from Masan, Changwon. This study was aimed to evaluate relationships among the physicochemical parameters in the bottom water of Masan bay and to examine environmental factors affecting to pollutions of seawater by factor analysis. 'rife factor loading, 1 is showed higher increasing inclination after 1989 year in station 1. The variance of pollutant materials is showed 43.7% in which the coastal inflow water is indicated external loadings(factor 1 : NO3--N, TN, factor 4 : SiO2-Si) corresponded to domestic sewage, industrial wastewater, and earth-sands in the bottom water of Masan bay And the internal loadings(factor 2 : SS, salinity, factor 3 . W.T., DO) are explained 33.8%'corresponded the phenomena of sedimentary layer and oxygen concentration. Therefore, The external loadings are explained by the higher factor pollutantal variance in Masan bay.
