In this study, it enabled to perform keyword search on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) more flexibly by taking in the concept of geographic thesaurus in order to make the keyword search that was more efficiently. The search procedure depends on the history when user information is included. This study provides a system for keyword searching as well as check the validity of the system. Furthermore, by establishing this reference method, the search that took in the query of a user flexibly is attained rather than a chosen type reference system.

As B2B (Business to business) develops swiftly, at home as well as in other advanced countries, plans for activating Electronic business are made and proceeded in a national viewpoint. However, it is essential task for the construction, advancement and activation of B2B framework to make an efficient search for differently built -up data from B2C and thus to look for optimal business partner suitable for his/her own business. For this, in the last Aug. of 2001, government has also referred to ebXML, the exchange model for electronic business data based on XML, as a suggestion for B2B framework. The purpose of this study is to develop search system for efficient choice of business partner and this will play an important role for data processing and competitiveness strengthening of small and medium enterprises. Meanwhile, this system is built up by using systemic characteristics registered in ebXML Registry/Repository and ‘question-expanding’ searching ways based on the particulars of business profiles for both objectiveness and maximum efficiency of search result.

In the W-CDMA system, cell search is one of the imporant functions of the mobile station searching for a cell and achieving spreading code and time synchronization to its downlink scrembling code. For the methods of cell search to optimize codes, three stages are considered: 1) slot synchronization, 2) frame synchronization, and 3) scrambling code identification. Channels for cell search are Primary Synchronization Channel (P-SCH), Secondary Synchronization Channel(S-SCH), and Common Pilot Channel (CPICH). In this paper, cell search is analyzed based on simulation. Rake receiver provides improvement of Performance as an increase of bandwidth because there are more available multipaths. In this paper, the performance of W-CDMA system employing RAKE receiver is evaluated by computer simulation over the types of ITU_R wideband channel model and spreading rate. The result shows that the performance of CDMA adapting RAKE receiver is improved by the increase of multipath components in equal level of the received power.

In managing organizational tacit knowledge, recent researches have shown that it is more applicable in many ways to provide expert search mechanisms in KMS to pinpoint experts in the organizations with searched expertise. In this paper, we propose an intelligent expert search framework to provide search capabilities for experts in similar or related fields according to the user′s information needs. In enabling intelligent expert searches, Fuzzy Abstraction Hierarchy (FAH) framework has been adopted, through which finding experts with similar or related expertise is possible according to the subject field hierarchy defined in the system. To improve FAH, a text categorization approach called Vector Space Model is utilized. To test applicability and practicality of the proposed framework, the prototype system, "Knowledge Portal for Researchers in Science and Technology" sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Korea, was developed.

네트워크로 연결된 환경에서 클라이언트는 서버가 보유한 파일을 요청함으로써 자원을 공유하였으나 서버의 부하로 P2P 시스템이 그 기능을 대신하고 있다. 이러한 P2P 시스템에 관한 성능 향상을 목표로 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 P2P 검색 시스템을 이용하는 사용자의 사용성 개선 효과를 기반으로 P2P 검색 시스템의 전처리 검색 기반 그룹 검색 알고리즘을 제안한다. 이는 사용자가 검색 용어를 검색 리스트 기반으로 전처리 과정을 거쳐 검색 속도를 높이고자 한다.

In most conventional design optimization of dynamic system, design sensitivities are utilized. However, design sensitivities based optimization method has numbers of drawback. First, computing design sensitivities for dynamic system is mathematically difficult, and almost impossible for many complex problems as well. Second, local optimum is obtained. On the other hand, Genetic Algorithm is the search technique based on the performance of system, not on the design sensitivities. It is the search algorithm based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. GA search, differing from conventional search techniques, starts with an initial set of random solutions called a population. Each individual in the population is called a chromosome, representing a solution to the problem at hand. The chromosomes evolve through successive iterations, called generations. As the generation is repeated, the fitness values of chromosomes were maximized, and design parameters converge to the optimal. In this study, Genetic Algorithm is applied to the actual dynamic optimization problems, to determine the optimal design parameters of the dynamic system.

본 논문에서는 다양한 콘텐츠들을 특징을 이용하여 각 콘텐츠에 적합한 특징들을 설계하고 수행할 수 있는 개인화 검색 시스템의 프레임워크를 개발하였다. 이를 이용하여 한국과학기술정보 연구원에서 제공하는 국내학술, 특허, 동향 정보 등 다양한 콘텐츠들을 이용하여 개인화 검색 시스템의 다양한 알고리즘에 적용하여 수행하였다.

In this paper, Computer Colour Matching and Kitchen System (CCMKS) is developed on the basis of delphi package and one-chip processor with fuzzy-PID control. CCMKS will be widely used in the colour dyeing industry as an integrated colour matching and dispensing system which have more advantages than the conventional matching or dispensing system, when controlling the real dyeing processes. Delphi is utilized in making database and search/matching routes. The developed matching function reduces the search and matching time to about one third. One-chip processor is designed and manufactured for the distributed control of three-phase induction motors. Fuzzy-PID control is applied to the speed control of three-phase induction motors for a very precise weight of colour at CCMKS. The developed kitchen function decreases the dispensing time to about one twentieth. The experimental results show CCMKS has more excellent search time, more precise weight and much high fidelity than conventional colour matching or dispensing system, in the performance.

In this paper we propose Personal Information Management System for Library Database. It manages personal search pattern for the given user and provide specific book list for library book search system. With the proposed system, the conventional overlap searching time will be decreased with personalized information and search history. This system manages the individual data according to personal searching pattern, sequence and usability. Therefore, the user can locate necessary book information more accurately with their distinct interest and search history.

전력사용 시설물은 사고시 대지에 전류를 흘려 보내고, 시설물의 손상, 화재와 인체의 감전 충격을 방지하기 위해서 반드시 효과적인 접지를 하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 Pattern Search법을 이용하여 접지시스템의 최적의 각종 파라메터를 구하고자 한다. Pattern Search법을 이용하여 구한 파라메터를 입력으로 하여 시뮬레이션한 결과 최적의 접지 시스템을 확인하였다.
