Purpose: This study is to search for the core factors of improving business performance of small and medium venture manufacturing company and to do an in-depth analysis of the relations with management performance through systematic approach and to provide implications of importance of the management for the improvement factors for the domestic small and medium venture manufacturing company. Methods: The data have been analyzed via the regression and path analysis using AMOS. Results: this study is absorptive capacity affects the business performance of manufacturing companies. absorptive capacity has the role of the parameters of the Quality Management System and business performance. Conclusion: This study suggests how to run absorptive capacity according to type of management performance, and how to enhance Quality Management System to efficiently promote absorptive capacity in order to grow of management performance. also, this study shows a way to enlarge the valuation standard for management and customer performance reflecting the growth potential of an enterprise in circumstance where the valuation standard focuses on financial performance.

Continued efforts to build up Safety Management System(SMS) and to improve its efficiency in airports, to which customers have direct access, are taken for granted due to continuous development of the aviation industry in both quantity and quality and rapid growth of air transportation market. This thesis proposed efficient operation methods of SMS for domestic airport organizations including Incheon International Airport(IIA), the largest airport in South Korea, aiming at strengthening aviation safety from the perspective of airport operators who play a pivotal role in service provider SMS. Those are consolidation of the existing safety management organizations and various improvements to promote voluntary incident reporting system. To draw a proposal for the improvements, conducted a research on domestic safety management status, carried out an analysis on operating conditions and did a research on ICAO regulations, domestic legal system as well as statistics data. Relevant studies and researches were also gathered and analyzed. A search for further improvements can also help increase operational efficiency and promoting a higher-level of safety awareness among operators can establish mature safety culture at airports.

The explosive growth of Web-based educational resources requires a new approach for accessing relevant information effectively. Social searching in the context of social navigation is one of several answers to this problem, in the domain of information retrieval. It provides users with not merely a traditional ranked list, but also with visual hints which can guide users to information provided by their colleagues. A personalized and context-dependent social searching system has been implemented on a platform called KnowledgeSea II, an open-corpus Web-based educational support system with multiple access methods. Validity tests were run on a variety of aspects and results have shown that this is an effective way to help users access relevant, essential information.

There are many kinds of applications or software components to manage files in a local computer, but it is very difficult to organize personal documents in a consistent way and to search expected ones in a precise way. In this paper, we present our development of a document management and retrieval tool, which is named Ontalk. Our system provides a semi-automatic metadata generator and an ontology-based search engine for electronic documents. Ontalk can create and import various ontologies in RDFS or OWL for describing the metadata. Our system that is built upon.NET technology is easily communicated with or flexibly plugged into many different programs.

This study aims to examine the dynamics of the variables related to the program management of Community Child Centers in Daegu metropolitan area and further search for the measures to activate its development based on the Systems Thinking. For these purposes, the study deals with the followings. Firstly, it overviews the legal bases of the Community Child Centers and its present condition and further reviews the relevant studies. Secondly, it summarizes its methodologies. Thirdly, based on the results of the questionnaire and interviews, it draws the major variables to understand its program management and analyzes its causal feedback structure and dynamics. Lastly, it concludes with the measures to activate its program management. This study is expected to make a useful resource to dynamically understand the program management issue of the Community Child Centers in Korea.

A considerable number of construction disasters occur on pathways. Safety management is usually performed on construction sites to prevent accidents in activity areas. This means that the safety management level of hazards on pathways is relatively minimized. Many researchers have noted that hazard identification is fundamental to safety management. Thus, algorithms for helping safety managers to identify hazardous areas are developed using automated data collection technology. These algorithms primarily search for potential hazardous areas by comparing workers' location logs based on a real-time location system and optimal routes based on BIM. Potential hazardous areas are filtered by identified hazardous areas and activity areas. After that, safety managers are provided with information about potential hazardous areas and can establish proper safety countermeasures. This can help to improve safety on construction sites.

This paper proposes how to build an expert profile database in KMS, which provides the information of expertise that each expert possesses in the organization. To manage tacit knowledge in a knowledge management system, recent researches in this field have shown that it is more applicable in many ways to provide expert search mechanisms in KMS to pinpoint experts in the organizations with searched expertise so that users can contact them for help. In this paper, we develop a framework to automate expert classification using a text categorization technique called Vector Space Model, through which an expert database composed of all the compiled profile information is built. This approach minimizes the maintenance cost of manual expert profiling while eliminating the possibility of incorrectness and obsolescence resulted from subjective manual processing. Also, we define the structure of expertise so that we can implement the expert classification framework to build an expert database in KMS. The developed prototype system, "Knowledge Portal for Researchers in Science and Technology," is introduced to show the applicability of the proposed framework.

Japanese national health expenditure was 8.0% of GDP in 2004, and it was lower than average of OECD countries. But it has increased rapidly in recent years. Japan has relatively many acute care beds and high-price medical equipments, and the average length of stay is long. Japanese government is trying healthcare reform to contain healthcare expenditure, increase the efficiency of management and improve the quality of healthcare. As healthcare policies for hospitals such as DPC (Diagnosis Procedure Combination) for acute care beds, reduction of long-term care beds, and functional differentiation and liaison among healthcare institutions are implemented, the number of hospitals in financial difficulties is increasing. The serious situation urges hospitals to adapt to changes and search new directions of management. They need to establish and implement appropriate positioning strategy, and increase management efficiencies. Korean healthcare system has similarities with Japanese in many aspects. The recent reform and changes in Japanese healthcare system and hospitals give suggestions to Korean hospitals as to how they can prepare for environmental changes and improve management.

The purpose of this study is to establish a purchasing cost reduction program for the management practical use. The research method of this study is a bibliographical search of the materials available in the library at Keimyung University and the writer's private study, and the case analysis. The body of this study is divided into three sections. The first section deals with the purchasing management systems in terms of the nature and characters of purchasing management and purchasing cost in total management system. The second section includes purchasing cost reduction program through value analysis technique and the third section covers summary and the following conclusions : 1) Top management should be aware of the important position of purchasing activities from the cost point of view, and they should be aware that a good purchasing cost reduction program could be established through value analysis technique. 2) For such a purchasing cost reduction program to be carried out. effectively the management should support and back up the program. 3) There should be a training program to educate and develop the personnel who can manage and operate the purchasing cost reduction program through valuean analysis technique. 4) And cooperative system should be established in management and operative organization system from the total management systems, view for the effective use of the program.

Semantic search promises to provide more accurate result than present-day keyword matching-based search by using the knowledge base represented logically. But, the ordinary users don't know well the complex formal query language and schema of the knowledge base. So, the system should interpret the meaning of user's keywords. In this paper, we describe a user query interpretation system for the semantic retrieval of multimedia contents. Our system is ontological knowledge base-driven in the sense that the interpretation process is integrated into a unified structure around a knowledge base, which is built on domain ontologies.
