셀룰로오스계 파일직물의 탄화가공 (A Study on the Burn-out Printing of Cellulose-blend Velvet)

  • The burn-out technique is used to result in the velvet cloth being patterned in open and solid areas by carbonize the cellulose fiber. It is examined how to burn out the cellulose part of the velvet without damage of the other part. The print paste indalca solution is mixed with sodium hydrogensulfate and lycerine and then screen-printed on the back side of the velvet. The effects of process conditions such as concentration of sodium hydrogensulfate dry heat fixation temperature and time pull no. and glycerine contents on the properties of ground farics were investigated. The yellowness index and the breaking load of silk ground fabrics afected by the process conditions especially concentration of sodium hydrogensulfate dry heat fixation temperature.

감물염색을 활용한 전통 문화상품의 개발 (Development of Traditional Cultural Products Using Persimmon Dyeing)

  • This study purposed to restructure representative traditional patterns formatively, manufacture actual cultural products with traditional dyeing technique using persimmon, and commercialize the results of the research. Traditionally in Korea, the dying of natural fiber such as cotton, flax and silk with persimmon was called Galmul dyeing, and clothes made through Galmul dyeing were called Galot. Galot was very useful because it is strong, does not pick up dirt easily, dries easily, and is cool in summer. In addition, cloth dyed with persimmon becomes stiff, so it does not need to be starched or ironed after washing. Moreover, it does not transmit heat under direct rays and is highly air-permeable, so it is cool and useful for standing the heat. In this study, we used traditional persimmon dyeing technique, printing traditional patterns fit for contemporary people's aesthetic sense not through dip-dying but through printing. When persimmon dyeing is used in expressing patterns, it produces not only visual effect but also embossing effect due to the characteristic of persimmon that makes printed patterns stiff, so we can obtain unique texture distinguished from other printing methods. We chose seven motive patterns, which were lotus pattern symbolizing eternal life, peony pattern symbolizing wealth and rank and prosperity, character Su(壽) pattern widely used as a symbol of health, bird and cloud pattern in the Goryeo Dynasty, Sahapyeoeuisohwa(四合如意小花) pattern printed on brocade in the Goryeo Dynasty, lattice pattern, cloth pattern on wall paintings from the Period of the Three Kingdoms. From each pattern chosen as a motive was extracted unit patterns and the original pattern was restored using Adobe Illustrator. Restored patterns were restructured to be applied to cultural products fit for contemporary formative sense. Fabrics used in dyeing were cotton, linen, ramie, silk, and polyester. Although the same persimmon dyeing was applied, we produced different feelings of patterns using various fabrics and in some cases gold and silver powder was added for the effect of gloss in addition to the embossing of patterns. Using printed fabrics we manufactured tea pads, place mats, cushions, wrapping cloth for gifts, wallet, lampshades.

분산제 함량에 따른 전도성 카본블랙의 분산 특성 및 스크린 인쇄된 OTFTs용 소스-드레인 전극 물성 (Effect of Dispersant Contents on the Dispersity of Conductive Carbon-black and Properties of Screen-printed Source-drain Electrodes for OTFTs)

  • 유기 박막 트랜지스터 (OTFTs)의 소스-드레인 전극을 스크린 인쇄를 통해 제작하였고, 전극용 페이스트로써 전도성 카본블랙 페이스트를 사용하였다. 전도성 카본블랙 페이스트를 제조하기 위해 서로 다른 분자량 및 고분자 사슬 구조를 갖는 2종류의 분산제(DB-2150, DB-9077)를 사용하여 분산제 함량(SOF; solid on powder, 10-40%)에 따른 카본블랙 밀베이스의 분산 특성을 검토한 결과, 분산제 함량이 증가함에 따라 분산 특성이 더 우수해 짐을 알 수 있었다. 전도성 카본블랙 페이스트를 제조하여 레올로지 측정을 통해 카본블랙의 분산상태 및 응집구조에 대해 검토한 결과, 분산제로 DB-2150을 사용한 페이스트들은 분산제 함량이 증가함에 따라 페이스트의 분산 특성이 향상되어 저장 탄성률(G')이 감소하였지만, DB-9077을 사용한 페이스트들은 카본블랙 사이의 상호작용에 의해 망목구조가 존재하였고, 분산제 함량이 증가함에 따라 카본블랙과 분산제간 또는 분산제간의 상호작용에 의해 페이스트의 저장 탄성률(G')은 더욱 증가하였다. 이러한 응집구조는 페이스트의 내부 저항력 (tacky)을 발생시켜 DB-9077을 사용한 페이스트들은 분산제 함량이 증가함에 따라 스크린 인쇄 적성이 좋지 못하였다. 하지만, 스크린 인쇄된 OTFTs용 소스-드레인 전극의 전기적 특성은 카본블랙 사이에 형성된 망목구조에 의해 카본블랙의 도전 경로(conduction Path)가 형성됨에 따라 DB-2150을 사용한 페이스트들의 OTFTs에 비해 더 우수하였다. 그러나, 2종류의 분산제를 사용한 페이스트 모두, 분산제의 함량이 증가함에 따라 카본블랙 표면을 감싸는 분산제 함량 또한 증가하게 되어 이로 인해 카본블랙간의 도전 경로 형성은 어렵게 되고 전극의 특성은 점점 열화되었다.

Fabrication of field emitters using a filtration-taping-transfer method

  • There have been several methods to fabricate carbon nanotube (CNT) emitters, which include as-grown, spraying, screen-printing, electrophoresis and bonding methods. Unfortunately, these techniques generally suffer from two main problems. One is a weak mechanical adhesion between CNTs and the cathode. The as-grown, spraying and electrophoresis methods show a weak mechanical adhesion between CNTs and the cathodes, which induces CNT emitters pulled out under a high electric field. The other is a severe degradation of the CNT tip due to organic binders used in the fabrication process. The screen-printing method which is widely used to fabricate CNT emitters generally shows a critical degradation of CNT emitters caused by the organic binder. Such kinds of problems induce a short lifetime of the CNT field emitters which may limit their practical applications. Therefore, a robust CNT emitter which has the strong mechanical adhesion and no degradation is still a great challenge. Here, we introduce a simple and effective technique for fabrication of CNT field emitter, namely filtration-taping-transfer method. The CNT emitters fabricated by the filtration-taping-transfer method show the low turn-on electric fields, the high emission current, good uniformity and good stability. The enhanced emission performance of the CNT emitters is mainly attributed to high emission sites on the emitter area, and to good ohmic contact and strong mechanical adhesion between the emitters and cathodes. The CNT emitters using a simple and effective fabrication method can be applied for various field emission applications such as field emission displays, lamps, e-beam sources, and x-ray sources. Improved Surface Morphologies of Printed Carbon Nanotubes by Heat Treatment and Their Field Emission Properties

  • This paper presents heating process for obtaining standing carbon nanotube emitters to improve field-emission properties from the screen-printed multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) films. In an atmosphere with optimum combination of nitrogen and air for heat treatment of CNT films, the CNT emitters can be made to protrude from the surface. This allows for high emission current and the formation of very uniform emission sites without special surface treatment. The morphological change of the CNT film by this technique has eliminated additional processing steps, such as surface treatment which may result in secondary contamination and damage to the film. Despite its simplicity the process provides high reproducibility in emission current density which makes the films suitable for practical applications.

  • The effects of paste components on the properties of porous $TiO_2$ film electrodes prepared through screen-printing technique were investigated in order to efficiently control and optimize the main fabrication step of the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). The screen-printed porous $TiO_2$ films were characterized by ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and applied as a part of the DSC for the energy conversion. The fabricated DSC were evaluated by a solar simulator. The experimental results indicate that the microstructural characteristics of the printed films and the performances of the DSC are dependent on the paste compositions. As a result that the efficiency of DSC prepared by manufactured paste was 0.5%~1% higher than existing paste.

나노입자를 첨가한 전극용 무연 silver 페이스트의 제조 (Preparation of Lead-free Silver Paste with Nanoparticles for Electrode)

  • Silver paste with low sintered temperature has been developed in order to apply electronic parts, such as bus electrode, address electrode in PDP (Plasma Display Panel) with large screen area. In this study, nano-sized silver particles with 10-30 nm were synthesized from silver nitrate ($AgNO_3$) solution by chemical reduction method and silver paste with low sintered temperature was prepared by mixing silver nanoparticles, conventional silver powder with the particle size 1.6 um and Pb-free frit. Conductive thick film from silver paste was fabricated by screen printing on alumina substrate. After firing at $540^{\circ}C$, the cross section and surface morphology of the thick films were analyzed by FE-SEM. Also, the sheet resistivity of the fired thick films was measured using the four-point technique.

  • 스크린 프린팅법을 이용하여 NOX 감지용 WO3 후막형 가스센서를 제조하였다. 본 실험에서는 감지막의 소성 온도에따른 감도변화 및 Ru을 첨가함으로써 감도의 증진을 중점적으로 조사하였다. 또한 NO2 50 ppm하에서 CO, H2, CH4 그리고 i-C4H10등의 가스에 대하여 cross sensitivity를 조사하였다. WO3 가스센서는 소성온도 50$0^{\circ}C$, 작동온도 30$0^{\circ}C$에서 최대감도를 얻었다. 순수한 WO3에 Ru(0.004 wt%)을 첨가시 NO2 및 NO 가스에 대한 감도가 크게 증진되었다. 그러나 순수한 WO3 센서는 Ru(0.004 wt%)이 첨가된 WO3 센서보다 더 우수한 cross sensitivity를 보였다.

Touchpad for Force and Location Sensing

  • This paper presents the design and fabrication model of a touchpad based on a contact-resistance-type force sensor. The touchpad works as a touch input device, which can sense contact location and contact force simultaneously. The touchpad is 40 mm wide and 40 mm long. The touchpad is fabricated by using a simple screen printing technique. The contact location is evaluated by the calibration setup, which has a load cell and three-axis stages. The location error is approximately 4 mm with respect to x-axis and y-axis directions. The force response of the fabricated touchpad is obtained at three points by loading and unloading of the probe. The touchpad can detect loads from 0 N to 2 N. The touchpad shows a hysteresis error rate of about 11% and uniformity error rate of about 3%.

  • The piezoelectric thick films were fabricated on silicon substrates by screen printing method. By developing a low-temperature sinterable piezoelectric composition and a new poling technique, we fabricated the high-performance piezoelectric thick films on silicon which can be applied for piezoelectric MEMS applications such as micropumps of the ink jet printer heads.
