  • In recent days, the number of users having multiple devices according to time and places continue to increases with the help of wide spreading plurality of mobile devices. Consequently, the need for a user to share a media content on his/her multiple devices; furthermore, this movement brings the expansion of N-screen service focusing on connectivity, mobility, and integrity. N-screen service is platform that mediates the use of content or services on multiple devices with the continuous playing scheme. However, N-screen services have the problem of being provided exclusively by a service provider. This paper aims to implement a continuous playing scheme based on RESTfull and on an open service platform; the prototype was successfully implemented on the Android - PC environment.

  • The 200mesh screen was tensioned and fixed on a frame. When applied tension to 5N and 10N per unit area, a side length of opening of the screen was 163.223${\mu}m$ and 168.224${\mu}m$, respective. But side length not tensioned was 158.879${\mu}m$. We knew that a side length of opening of the screen rarely changes with tension applied to the screen. The appearances that a side length of opening of the screen expand little are due to a decreasing diameter of thread by means of tension. In a thickness measurement of screen, While the high density mesh screen that had a lot of knots that crossed a line of latitude and longitude per unit area appeared a higher numerical value, the low density mesh screen that had a few knots appeared a low numerical value.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of exposure to body image in media and bullet screen on weight loss intention by specifically focusing on Bilibili, a video sharing website of China. For the study, a 3 (Social viewing: no bullet screen vs. complimentary bullet screen vs. critical bullet screen) x 2 (Body image in media: ideal vs. realistic) between-subjects factorial design was conducted. A total of 310 Chinese women in their 20s were recruited to participate in an experimental survey. The main results showed that viewing the ideal body image with the complimentary bullet screen and realistic body image with the critical bullet screen strengthened the participants' intention on weight loss. Finally, the interaction effect of social viewing and the types of bullet screen were examined. The higher weight-loss intention was revealed when social viewing was conducted with the complimentary bullet screen of the ideal image. The results of this study can enhance the understanding of the bullet screen as a type of social viewing and its effect on user behavior intention.

  • A fog screen consists of tiny water drops and the viewers see the image transmitted through the fog screen. In contrast to ordinary screens, the viewers can see the actors passing through the image on the fog screen on stage. In this paper, we describe methods to build a top-down fog screen where fog particles generated in top space fall by gravity forming a flat vertical screen. We use a fog generation technique in which fog particles come out of the water surface when ultrasound vibrators immersed in water tank vibrate. We describe how fog particles form a flat screen while coming out of the fog passage tunnel, by generating guiding winds beside the fog screen. This technique utilizes the principle that fog particles are generated on the surface of a water tank by an ultrasonic vibrator placed in a water tank. The technique of forming a guiding wind on both sides of the passage exit where the fog comes out and the design and manufacturing method of the fog screen generating device are described so that the generated fog group can maintain one plane.

  • In this paper, WiMedia Distributed-MAC protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-screen wireless service. Furthermore, to provide the OSMU (One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the seamless D-MAC protocol, a new Multicast-free DRP Availability IE is proposed and analyzed. In this Multicast-free DRP Availability IE, indicating Multicast DRP Owner and Receiver is required. The ACK frame transmissions are not required for Multicast transmissions in P2P N-screen services. Using this property, the Multicast-free DRP Availability IE scheme is proposed to expand the number of time slots available for unicast and multicast DRP reservations. Simulation results show that our Multicast scheme enhances performances in vewpoints of DRP reservation conflict and throughput.

  • In this paper, WiMedia Distributed-MAC protocol is adopted for development of multi-hop N-screen wireless services. Furthermore, to provide the multi-hop OSMU (One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the D-MAC protocol, a new multi-hop resource reservation scheme is proposed and analyzed to reduce end to end delay. For this Multi-hop resource reservation scheme, a new MSCDRP (Multi-Stage Cooperative DRP) IE is proposed. Simulation results show that our multi-hop MSCDRP scheme reduces the end to end delay and increases throughput at various multi-hop N-screen network environment.

  • Objective: This study aimed to investigate the moderated-moderated mediating effects of children's media content selection and parental restrictive media mediation on the relationship between children's screen media time and executive function difficulties. Methods: A total of 693 parents of children aged 5~6 years participated in this study and were asked to answer all survey questions. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using SPSS 27.0. Model 11 of PROCESS macro 4.3 was used to examine the moderated-moderated mediation model. Children's gender, age, childcare enrollment status, and household income were included in the analyses as covariates. Results: The moderated-moderated mediating effects of children's media content selection and parental restrictive media mediation were found to be significant. Specifically, bedtime mediated the relationship between screen media time and executive function difficulties only when parents did not appropriately implement restrictive mediation and children freely selected media content. Conclusion/Implications: It is recommended that parents understand the importance of implementing restrictive media mediation and selecting appropriate media contents for their child to prevent executive function difficulties in early childhood. Also, child education or day-care centers should offer education program about appropriate media use to reach more parents.

  • This experimental research explores the effect of screen size of smart media on viewer's evaluation and presence. For this experimental research, 2 groups of subjects composed of university students were exposed to TV document video clips which were shown by two different size of smart media, and evaluation and presence related questions were asked analysed. This research found that subjects exposed to large smart media showed higher degree of image aesthetic evaluation and presence than those exposed to small media. but the effect of screen size of smart media on viewer's program evaluation was not found. Through this study, screen size of smart media is main factor which has effect on image aesthetics and presence of TV documentary.

  • In this paper, a WiMedia Distributed-MAC (D-MAC) protocol is adopted for development of a seamless N-screen wireless service in Indoor and Ship Area Networks. Furthermore, to provide the OSMU (One Source Multi Use) N-screen service through P2P streaming in the seamless D-MAC protocol, a ATMT (Asynchronous Traffic Multi-hop Transmission) technology is proposed and analyzed. In this system, a WiMedia ATMT D-MAC bridge transmits control and managing information to various sensors and instruments, from a central integrated ship area network station. For this technology, a time slot allocation scheme for WiMedia asynchronous traffic and a multi-hop resource reservation scheme are combined to evaluate the performance of each scheme. From simulation results, the proposed ATMT scheme enhances performances in viewpoints of N-screen asynchronous data latency and throughput, compared to the conventional WiMedia D-MAC system.
