초·중등학생을 위한 디자인적 사고기반의 STEAM교육 프로그램의 효과 (Effect of Design Thinking-based STEAM Program for Primary and Secondary Students)

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of design thinking-based STEAM program for primary and secondary students. The design thinking-based STEAM program dealt with advanced scientific technology issues and it consisted of 8 topics. A questionnaire was developed to explore the change of Science concept awareness, Interest, Self-efficacy, Career consciousness of students through the program. The questionnaire consisted of following 4 areas, such as 'Science concept awareness', 'Interest', 'Career consciousness' and 'Self efficacy'. Pre-post test was conducted to 75 primary and secondary students. As a result of analyzing post-test compared to pre-test, 'Science concept awareness', 'Career consciousness' and 'Self efficacy' of students were improved. And the 'Interest' wasn't changed significantly. Through this research, it can be suggested that the design thinking-based STEAM program can be useful at school education to improve the Science concept awareness, Career consciousness and Self-efficacy of primary and secondary students. It is also proposed that further research of the various areas of interest and other affective variables will be needed.

Means of Visualization in Teaching Ukrainian as a Foreign Language to Modern Students with Clip Way of Thinking

  • Acceleration of the pace of life, increasing the amount of information, the emergence of "clip way of thinking" as a phenomenon has led to the problem of choosing forms of presentation of educational materials to students. One of the ways to solve this problem is to use the means of visualization of information flow, forasmuch as the thinking of modern youth is more effective in perceiving visual images than verbal means. The purpose of the research is to prove the effectiveness of the use of visualization in the process of teaching Ukrainian as a foreign language to students with clip way of thinking. The following methods have been used, namely: analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization and generalization of scientific literature; testing and surveys; pedagogical experiment; quantitative and qualitative analysis of data, interpretation and generalization of the research results. The essence of visualization means has been revealed; the expediency of their use in the methodology of teaching foreign students the Ukrainian language has been substantiated. It has been proven that the role of Ukrainian teachers lies in taking into account all new trends in teaching, integrating computer perception of information by foreign students into teaching technology and using cognitive visualization in order to intensify the learning process.

과학영재들은 어떻게 사고하는가 (How Do Scientifically Gifted Students Think)

  • 본 연구는 현재 과학 영재 교육 프로그램에 참가하고 있는 266명의 과학 영재들을 대상으로 Sternberg(1988, 1990)의 정신자치제 이론에 기초한 사고양식 검사 도구를 사용하여 그들의 사교양식의 특성을 밝히고, 사고양식과 지능 및 창의성과의 관계를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 과학영재들은 일반 학생들 보다 자유주의적이고 입법적인 성향, 그리고 사법적인 성향을 두드러지게 나타났다. 이러한 경향은 집행적이고 보수적의적인 성향보다 창의적이고 비판적인 사고에 적합한 양식이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 사고양식은 지능검사 및 과학적 탐구능력과는 거의 관계가 없었지만, 창의성 검사와는 부분적인 상관을 보여 주었다. 즉 자유주의적인 성향이 강한 학생들은 TTCT검사의 독창성에서 높은 점수를 받았고, 유창성은 보수주의적인 경향성과 부적인 상관을 보였다. 또한 사법적인 양식은 독창성 및 융통성과 긍정적인 상관이 있었다. 본 연구를 통해서 과학 영재들의 사고양식의 경향성을 파악할 수 있었으며, 이러한 점을 고려하여 과학 영재교육에 시사점을 제공하였다.

논의활동이 초등학생의 과학글쓰기에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Argumentation on the Scientific Writing of Elementary School Students)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 논의활동과 과학글쓰기와의 상호 관련성을 정성적으로 알아보는데 있다. 이와 같은 과제를 해결하기 위하여 과학적 상황 및 사회과학적 상황으로 구성된 9가지 논의 및 과학글쓰기 주제를 가지고 초등학교 5학년 학생을 대상으로 논의 및 과학글쓰기 활동을 행하였다. 논의과정에서 나눈 대화내용과 논의활동 전 후에 작성한 과학글쓰기의 내용을 녹음하고 전사하여 과학 글쓰기 세 가지 목표영역에 준거한 분석틀에 따라 비교 분석하였다. 이번 연구를 통하여 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 논의활동 중의 다양한 의견들은 논의 후 과학글쓰기에서 과학글쓰기 3가지 목표영역인 과학성, 논리성, 창의성이 신장되는데 긍정적인 효과를 주었다. 둘째, 논의활동이 논의 후 과학글쓰기에 나타나는 표현 형태는 크게 세 가지로 범주화할 수 있었다. 유형 1) 논의과정에서 새롭게 드러난 자신의 과학개념, 주장, 아이디어를 보충하여 표현하는 경우, 유형 2) 논의과정에서 다른 사람의 과학개념, 주장, 근거, 아이디어를 자기화하여 나타내는 경우, 유형 3) 논의활동에 기초하여 새로운 사실을 추론하거나 새로운 아이디어를 표현하는 경우이다.

초등학교 2학년 슬기로운 생활에서 창의적 과학글쓰기 프로그램이 창의성과 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Creative Science Writing Program on 2nd Grade Elementary School Students' Creativity and Scientific Attitude)

  • A creative science writing program was developed, and applied to 2nd grade elementary students. Two 2nd grade elementary school classes in Seoul district were selected for the current study. A Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design was applied. The experimental group adopted the creative science writing program and the control group maintained traditional lectures for 12 classes. TTCT(Torrance Test of Creative Thinking) figural test and a scientific attitude test were conducted on both groups. According to the analysis, TTCT score of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (p<.01). Among several subscales of TTCT, elaboration and resistance to premature closure was especially improved. Also, scientific attitude scale of the experimental group was significantly higher than that of the control group (p<.01). Among subscales of scientific attitude, the creative science writing program was effective on improving students' open-mindedness, critical mindedness, cooperation, voluntariness, and endurance. Gender was not a factor in the improvement of both students' creativity and scientific attitude.

과학과 핵심역량 요소를 기반으로 한 초등학교 과학 글쓰기 수업의 효과 (The Effect of Science Writing Classes based on Science Core Competencies in Elementary School)

  • The 2015 revised national science curriculum encourages students to cultivate the science core competencies such as scientific thinking, science process skills, scientific problem-solving ability, scientific communication skill, scientific participation and lifelong learning ability. To fill this purpose, we practiced science writing classes based on core competencies and examined the effect of its application. The target unit was 'weather and our life', 'acid and base', 'speed of an object', and 'structure and function of our body' in the fifth grade of elementary school. The results were as follows. First, it was proven that science writing activities based on core competencies did not help improving science process skills of learners. Second, it had a significant effect on the improvement of the learner's self-directed learning ability, in particular, owner spirit, meta cognition and information search. Third, this strategy for science writing changed learners' scientific attitude positively. The above-mentioned results show that this science writing classes can be applicable as one of effective methods in cultivating science core competencies.

오감을 이용한 벼 관찰활동에서의 만3세 유아의 과학과정기술 변화에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Fieldwork of Growing Rice on Promoting Children's Scientific Skills)

  • 본 연구에서는 유아가 오감을 이용한 벼 관찰활동을 통해 유아의 과학과정기술이 어떻게 변화하는지 살펴보고자 실시되었다. 연구참여자는 경기도 오산시에 소재한 Y어린이집에 재원중인 만3세 유아 10명이었다. 유아의 과학과정기술의 변화를 살펴보기 위하여 Spradley(1980)의 참여관찰 분석과정을 최정열(2000)이 수정 보완한 분석과정을 사용하였다. 분석자료에는 유아 인터뷰 자료, 유아관찰일지, 교사 관찰기록 등이 사용되었다. 연구결과 오감을 이용한 벼 관찰활동은 유아의 과학과정기술에 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 유아는 초기에 비해 후기로 갈수록 벼에 대해 예측하기, 관찰하기, 분류하기, 비교하기, 측정하기 능력이 향상되었다. 본 연구결과는 유아의 과학적 사고 신장을 위한 교수방법의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

만 5세 유아의 창의성 및 과학적 탐구능력을 위한 예술·과학 융합프로그램의 효과 (The Effects of a Convergent Arts and Science Program on Young Children's Creativity and Scientific Inquiry)

  • This study aimed to develop a convergent arts and science program for 5yearold children and to evaluate this effectiveness of the program. To meet the purpose of this study, 34 children (aged, 5 year) were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. To the experimental group, the creative arts and science convergence program of interest in this study was delivered over a period of 8 weeks. The children of the control group were delivered the Nuri Curriculum (standardized educational curriculum targeted for 3- to 5year olds) during the same experimental period. The levels of the children's creativity were assessed using the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking-Figural and those of their scientific inquiry ability were tested by using the Scientific Inquiry Ability Assessment Scale. The analysis of covariance calculated using by IBM SPSS ver. 21.0 revealed that the experimental group scored higher in creativity and scientific inquiry than did the control group. The results indicated that the proposed convergent arts and science program was effective in promoting creativity and scientific inquiry ability of young children. In this paper, along with the main results of this study, the implications for research and practice are discussed.

국민학교 저학년 아동을 위한 과학놀이 활동자료 개발연구 (The Materials of the play Activities for the Lowor Grades in the Elementary School)

  • It is the purpose of this study that is to develop the materials of the Scientific activities by the medium of "play" having influence on the growth of the lower grades in elementary school. For the sake of this object, this study develops and presents the materials of tile basic logical thinking play and sense-thinking play activities. And it analyzes the degree that they can be applied to the elementary science textbook of nature current now. As a result this provides 39 of materials of the sense-play and 23 of materials of the logical thinking play activities. And then, if the materials presented here are changed adequatly and have the same main subject as contents of the present textbook, we shall be able to utilize them for the textbook of nature.

Wait-time이이론이 초등학생의 과학교육에 미치는 영향 (An Effect of Wait-Time Theory on Science Education at Elementary School)

  • It is important that the teacher, in an inquiry learning gives his student sufficient thinking time regarding the teacher's question and the child's response. In an inquiry loaming, it is essential that children should have an enough time to understand question fully and find out correct answers. The purpose of this study is to investigate an effect of science teaching, when Wait-time theory is applied, on the scholastic and thinking ability, thinking trend and scientific attitudes of elementary children. We could draw several meaningful conclusions from the study concerned with improving the effect of science teaching that changed from teacher centered teaching to children centered erie.
