간호대학생의 공감능력과 임상실습 스트레스 (Empathy and Clinical Practice Stress in Nursing Student)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 공감능력과 임상실습 스트레스 정도 및 공감능력과 임상실습 스트레스와의 관계를 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. 2013년 9월 1일부터 2013년 12월 31일까지 252명의 간호대학생을 대상으로 설문지를 이용하여 자료수집 하였다. 설문에 응답한 249명의 자료를 서술적 분석, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 간호대학생의 공감능력 수준은 하위영역별로 관점 취하기 3.57점, 상상하기 3.59점, 공감적 관심 3.72점, 개인적 고통 3.15점으로 중간 이상의 수준이었고, 임상실습 스트레스는 3.03점으로 중간 이상의 수준이었다. 임상실습 스트레스는 공감능력의 하위영역 중 개인적 고통과 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 간호대학생의 임상실습 스트레스를 개선시키기 위해 개인적 고통 수준이 높은 간호대학생의 경우 임상실습 스트레스 수준을 어떻게 관리할 것인지에 대한 방안이 강구되어야 하겠다.

상급종합병원 간호사의 근거기반실무에 대한 지식과 태도 및 수행 (Registered Nurses' Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practice about Evidence-Based Practice at General Hospitals in Korea)

  • Purpose: Evidence-based practice (EBP) has emerged as a marker for healthcare quality and a global issue in nursing care. This study was conducted to identify Korean registered nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and practice about EBP in Korea. Methods: With a cross-sectional design, the EBP questionnaire (EBPQ) was administered to a convenience sample of nurses (N=453) recruited from 44 general hospitals. To increase the response rate, the directors of nursing were individually contacted by the researchers. The final response rate was 95.7%. Results: The majority of participants were females (99.3%), staff nurses (57.8%), and with bachelors degree (40.6%). Most of them (314, 73.4%) had ever heard about EBP. The overall mean score for the EBPQ was $4.72{\pm}0.69$ out of maximum score of 7. The mean score for the knowledge of EBP, attitudes towards EBP, and practice/use of EBP were $4.61{\pm}0.75$, $4.85{\pm}0.94$, and $4.90{\pm}0.88$, respectively. Educational level, age, and exposure to EBP were statistically significant predictors of Korean nurses' EBP perception. Conclusion: The findings showed that nurses with higher education are more likely to use and value the best available evidence for practice. This study suggests needs not only for further exploration but also for developing educational plans provided by each institute to assist nurses with the process of EBP and the associated skills.

가상간호시뮬레이션을 활용한 정신간호실습 교육의 효과 (Effects of Psychiatric Nursing Practice Education Using Virtual Simulation for Nursing)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생에게 가상간호시뮬레이션을 적용한 정신간호실습 전·후 전이동기, 학습자기효능감의 차이를 비교하고 실습 후 실습만족도를 비롯한 전이동기, 학습자기효능감 간의 상관성을 확인하여 효과적인 정신간호실습 교육의 기초자료로 제공하기 위함이다. 본 연구는 2020년 10월 부터 12월 까지 진행되었으며 U시 소재 대학 3학년에 재학 중이고 가상간호시뮬레이션을 적용한 정신간호실습 교육을 받은 41명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료분석은 Paired t-test와 피어슨상관관계(Pearson's correlation coefficient)로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 가상간호시뮬레이션을 적용한 정신간호실습 후 실습 전에 비하여 전이동기는 유의하게 상승하였고 학습자기효능감은 상승하였으나 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 가상간호시뮬레이션을 활용한 정신간호실습 후 전이동기, 학습자기효능감, 실습만족도는 통계적으로 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 이를 통해 가상간호시뮬레이션을 활용한 정신간호실습 교육은 부분적으로 효율적인 실습 전략임이 확인되었다.

요양병원 간호사의 간호근무환경, 도덕적 고뇌가 인간중심돌봄에 미치는 영향 (Nursing Practice Environment and Moral Distress Impact on Person-centered Care of Long-term Care Hospital Nurses)

  • 본 연구는 요양병원 간호사의 간호근무환경, 도덕적 고뇌가 인간중심돌봄의 관계를 확인하고, 인간중심돌봄에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위한 서술적 조사연구이다. D시와 G도 소재 요양병원에서 현재 근무하는 간호사를 대상으로 시행되었다. 자료수집은 2020년 5월 1일부터 31일까지로 총 154명을 SPSS 25.0로 분석하였다. 간호근무환경은 2.42점, 도덕적 고뇌는 3.27점, 인간중심돌봄은 3.60점이었다. 인간중심돌봄의 영향요인은 간호근무환경, 도덕적 고뇌로 나타났다. 이는 요양병원 간호사의 인간중심돌봄을 증진시키기 위한 방안으로 관리자들의 지속적인 관심으로 요양병원 간호사의 근무환경 개선과 도덕적 고뇌의 감소를 위한 실질적인 방안 마련이 필요해 보인다.

Investigation of Dental Hygienists' Practice about Rules on Dental Disputes Prevention

  • Background: This study analyzed the practice of dental medical dispute prevention rules of dental hygienists to present an improvement plan for improving perceived importance and practice and provide data for the development of effective medical dispute prevention programs. Methods: A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted targeting dental hygienists who were providing assistance at dental hospitals and dental clinics in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do regions from March 22 to April 28, 2022. The questionnaire collected from 273 dental hygienists consisted of eight questions on general characteristics, 30 questions on medical dispute experience, and 14 questions on medical dispute prevention. Results: Complaints showed a high experience rate in 'Consultation & reservation', medical disputes in 'Patient handling (unkind) related', and 'Prosthesis installation and cement removal'. In both the importance and practice of medical dispute prevention rules, 'Preservation of medical records and other medical-related data' was high, and 'Management of patients on standby for a long time' was low in terms of practice. 'Lack of time' and 'Lack of manpower' were cited as reasons for not resolving dental treatment disputes. The importance of dental dispute prevention rules was found to be significant according to age and position, and it was also found to affect the level of practice. Conclusion: Seventy-six-point six percent of the respondents said that education on the prevention of medical disputes was necessary, although they lacked recognition of prevention rules compared to their perceptions and experiences. This study suggested specifying prevention rules in dental hygiene subjects and expanding education, improvement of dental treatment system, revise the law on the range of work to improve the recognition and practice of prevention rules.

간호대학생의 그릿, 긍정적 정서, 팀워크가 임상실습 만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Grit, Positive Emotions, and Teamwork on Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 그릿, 긍정적 정서, 팀워크 및 임상실습 만족도의 정도를 파악하고, 임상실습 만족도에 영향을 주는 요인을 확인하기 위해 시행된 서술적 조사연구이다. 대상자는 U시와 G시 소재 2개 대학 간호학과 4학년으로 하였다. 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램으로 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson 상관계수, multiple regression 분석을 하였다. 연구결과, 임상실습 만족도는 그릿, 긍정적 정서, 팀워크와 양의 상관관계가 있었다. 팀워크는 그릿, 긍정적 정서와 양의 상관관계를 보였고, 긍정적 정서는 그릿과 양의 상관관계를 나타냈다. 임상실습 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 팀워크와 긍정적 정서였으며 설명력은 43.6%였다. 따라서 간호대학생의 임상실습 만족도를 향상시키기 위한 전략으로 팀워크와 긍정적 정서를 향상시킬 수 있는 교육 프로그램 개발과 방안 모색이 필요하다.

지역사회 거주 노인의 COVID-19 관련 염려와 우울이 손 씻기 수행도에 미치는 영향: 2020년 지역사회건강조사 (Impact of COVID-19-related concerns and depression on handwashing practice among community-dwelling older adults: a secondary analysis of the 2020 Korea Community Health Survey)

  • Purpose: This study investigated hand-washing practice among community-dwelling older adults during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and aimed to identify the impact of COVID-19-related concerns and depression on hand-washing practice. Methods: This was a secondary analysis of data extracted from the 2020 Community Health Survey. The primary data were collected through self-reporting from August 10 to September 8, 2020 in a cross-sectional study. The subjects comprised of 1,350 adults aged 65 or older living in Jeju Province who participated in the 2020 Community Health Survey. Results: The factors affecting hand-washing practice among older adults were male older adults (β = -.18, p < .001), age (β = -.07, p = .001), no education (β = -.20, p < .001) and elementary, middle, and high school graduation (β = -.15, p < .001) compared to a college or higher education, poor health perception (β = -.13, p < .001), COVID-19-related concerns (β = .08, p = .005), and depression (β = -.07, p = .001). To summarize, the factors negatively affecting hand-washing practice included male gender, lower education level, poor health perception, and depression. In contrast, factors positively associated with hand-washing practice included COVID-19-related concerns. Conclusion: These findings show the importance of considering these multifaceted determinants when designing targeted interventions and educational programs to promote hand-washing among older adults. Additionally, based on the relationship between hand-washing practice and COVID-19-related concerns and depression, interventions that can alleviate mental problems along with providing proper education are required.

Factors Affecting Clinical Competence in Dental Hygiene Students

  • Background: This study aimed to examine the factors that influence clinical performance of dental hygiene students to provide useful data for developing strategies to improve clinical competence. Methods: The effects of variables on clinical competence by quantile level were analyzed using quantile regression analysis in 247 dental hygiene students. Quantile regression and multiple regression analyses were conducted using the Stata 11.0 program to analyze predictors of clinical competence. Results: The clinical competence score of dental hygiene students was 42.69±5.90, the satisfaction of clinical practice was 49.90±7.44, the clinical practice stress was 50.62±7.37, and the professional self-concept was 31.68±4.41. Empathy was the highest at 50.87±4.93. Multiple regression analysis showed that school year, stress from clinical training, satisfaction with clinical training, professional self-concept, and empathy had significant impact on clinical competence. Quantile regression analysis showed that the effects varied depending on the clinical competence level. School year and professional self-concept had a significant positive effect, regardless of the clinical competence level, while empathy had a significant positive effect at the top 10% (Q90) of the clinical competence level. Satisfaction with clinical practice affected clinical competence at Q25, Q50, and Q90. Stress from clinical practice had significant effects at Q25, Q50, and Q90 (p<0.05). Conclusion: According to the study results, different factors affected clinical competence according to the quantile of clinical competence. This study provides valuable implications for designing clinical competence enhancement programs and strategies. In addition, objective indicators for considering factors that may affect the clinical competence, such as academic competence and satisfaction of practice hospitals, are expected to require detailed analysis and measures.

Associations Between Conventional Healthy Behaviors and Social Distancing During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence From the 2020 Community Health Survey in Korea

  • Objectives: Many studies have shown that social distancing, as a non-pharmaceutical intervention (NPI) that is one of the various measures against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), is an effective preventive measure to suppress the spread of infectious diseases. This study explored the relationships between traditional health-related behaviors in Korea and social distancing practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Data were obtained from the 2020 Community Health Survey conducted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (n=98 149). The dependent variable was the degree of social distancing practice to cope with the COVID-19 epidemic. Independent variables included health-risk behaviors and health-promoting behaviors. The moderators were vaccination and unmet medical needs. Predictors affecting the practice of social distancing were identified through hierarchical multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: Smokers (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 0.924) and frequent drinkers (aOR, 0.933) were more likely not to practice social distancing. A greater degree of physical activity was associated with a higher likelihood of practicing social distancing (aOR, 1.029). People who were vaccinated against influenza were more likely to practice social distancing than those who were not (aOR, 1.150). However, people with unmet medical needs were less likely to practice social distancing than those who did not experience unmet medical needs (aOR, 0.757). Conclusions: Social distancing practices were related to traditional health behaviors such as smoking, drinking, and physical activity. Their patterns showed a clustering effect of health inequality. Therefore, when establishing a strategy to strengthen social distancing, a strategy to protect the vulnerable should be considered concomitantly.

반복연습형 CAI 프로그램을 통한 초등 학생의 전류 개념 변화 연구 (Elementary School Students' Conceptual Change on Electric Current by Drill and Practice Type CAI Program.)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate what kinds of idea the children have after formal instruction in school, and to investigate what is the children's conceptual change on electric current after implementation of drill and practice type CAI program about electric circuit. The CAI program was developed by KEDI research project team the author of this article was joined. The subjects were 20 eleven yaers old(elementary fifth year) children sampled from a elementary school in Seoul, Korea. They had already learnt about electric circuits for two years before implementing this CAI program according to the formal science curriculum. The pretest were accomplished before implementing the CAI program, and posttest were accomplished a week after implementation of the CAI program. The results of this study are as follows: Even though they had studied electric circuits, only 5% of the students had scientific ideas before pretest, and even after drill and practice type CAI program only 30% of the students have changed their misconceptions into scientific conceptions.
