This research deals with the problems encountered in designing systems for more efficient and effective information retrieval used in the proliferation of literature. This research was designed to develop and test 1) the partitioning a large bibliographic data base into quality oriented subsets (quality filtering), and 2) a system for effective and efficient information retrieval within subsets of data base (relevance). In order to accomplish this partitioning, the 'kernel' technique of graph theory was applied. In addition, a method of quality filtering utilizing the 'epidemic' theory and the 'obsolescence' of scientific literature was developed.

Oxidative stress, which results in an excessive product of reactive oxygen species (ROS), is one of the fundamental mechanisms of the development of hypertension. In the vascular system, ROS have physical and pathophysiological roles in vascular remodeling and endothelial dysfunction. In this study, ROS-hypertension-related genes were collected by the biological literature-mining tools, such as SciMiner and gene2pubmed, in order to identify the genes that would cause hypertension through ROS. Further, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) located within these gene regions were examined statistically for their association with hypertension in 6,419 Korean individuals, and pathway enrichment analysis using the associated genes was performed. The 2,945 SNPs of 237 ROS-hypertension genes were analyzed, and 68 genes were significantly associated with hypertension (p < 0.05). The most significant SNP was rs2889611 within MAPK8 (p = $2.70{\times}10^{-5}$; odds ratio, 0.82; confidence interval, 0.75 to 0.90). This study demonstrates that a text mining approach combined with association analysis may be useful to identify the candidate genes that cause hypertension through ROS or oxidative stress.

These days, corporate risk management has become a major concern in the corporate world. Companies in the global environment are exposed to diverse kinds of risks that are affecting the decisions of investors and other stakeholders. Therefore, companies are expected to not only identify and manage risks but also voluntarily report the same to the stakeholders. Increasingly, standard setters and regulators are requiring firms to disclose such information. On the contrary, there also exists a perception that risk reporting can create a negative impression among the stakeholders about the future of the company. In line with such growing dilemma for risk disclosures, the issue of corporate risk reporting (CRR) has been receiving immense emphasis from the accounting academicians. The main objective of this article is to conduct a comprehensive literature review on corporate risk disclosures. In order to fulfill this objective, at first, a summary of the relevant available literature is presented to identify the current regulations on risk reporting, existing trends of CRR research and theories applied in research. Then, through analysis, several research avenues are identified. It is expected that if these dimensions are explored by the future researchers, a better and broader understanding of the risk reporting practices can be achieved.

The purpose of this paper is to suggest fundamental data for finding problems and ways to improve Korean dental infection control studies through the classification of literature on dental infection control which have been conducted in Korea. The collection of literature was done via seven online database programs only for domestic literature. The date of first search was September 16-17th, 2009, and the final search was completed on December 20th, 2009. (1) From the examination of the frequency of research according to the publishing form by year, it is revealed that after 2006, dental infection control is being performed most vigorously, compared with 1980's when the studied on this area started. (2) According to the classification of research method by research design of original article among the literature, original articles were 45 studies, and the others were 20 studies. It was also found that in 45 studies of original article, there were 37 studies of survey research, and there were 8 studies which include microbiology examination. (3) On the analysis of the subject of each study, glob and mask using rate have gradually increased, and the frequency of pierced with sharp implement or needle have gradually decreased. Through this research, it can be observed roughly how the results depended on subject of each studies change. However, it may be restricted to generalize the results of this research, because there are lack of clear standard and literature evidence to assess the interrelationship between each study. Also, since there are shortage of research and studies in dental infection control, the research to examine the effects should be tried actively after the standards and precaution of dental infection control developed.

Purpose: An integrative literature review was done to identify the best interventions for older adults with dyslipidemia in an effort to promote nursing involvement in the prevention of statin-induced symptoms (SIS). Such awareness could increase the capacity of interventions by geriatric nurses using evidence-based practices in the reassessment of statin therapy. Methods: CINAHL, Pubmed, and ProQuest were searched using these terms: dyslipidemia in, elderly, statins, adverse effects, and quality of life. Eleven articles fitting the inclusion criteria were identified and analyzed. Results: The findings indicate no evidence for the benefit of statin therapy for morbidity/mortality in a high-risk primary prevention set-up, specifically in the elderly population. Although SIS prevails among older adults, there are limited data that confidently support this observation along with nursing interventions specifically for the geriatric nursing community. Conclusion: Future research is necessary to shift nursing intervention with statin users (specifically in older adults) from an illness-based intervention to a preventive care plan to provide optimal care based on evidence. It is essential to involve self-reporting, cooperation, and communication with health care professionals, specifically with geriatric nurses. Additional studies are needed to further direct practice interventions in elderly statin users.

Children's literature has a significant impact on children's intelligence and emotional development. The interest in children's literature is increasingly growing with the expectation of the award winning books and the educational values of children's books. Although the interest has brought about a quantitative increase in the domestic children's books, it has difficulty selecting high-quality children's books among various books. In such an environment, the Children's Literature Award will provide an authoritative source of choice, which will help guide the selection of quality books to those who want to read children's books. In addition to this trend, the library should check the status of winning works and incorporate them into new collection development policies. The purpose of this study is to present the direction of the library book development policy of the public library. For this purpose, 10 public libraries in Seoul, Korea were selected and analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively through the collection status of the children's literature winning books, loan status, turnover, Bonn's use Factor, and Trueswell's 80/20 rule. Based on the results of this analysis, we would like to suggest some issues to be reflected in library development policy of the future.

Libraries both in the East and the West in terms of its usage went through various changes in meaning. The writer attempted an etymological study on the terms of libraries from the earliest time to the present time. Finding various ways and means of usage in the literature of past and present, the writer tries to suggest the best fitted term for libraries to the Korean usage. The suggestion which the writer intended to introduce is Munhun-gwan(文獻館) in the place of Dosu-gwan(圖書館).
