As children's apparel industry expands, there are many researches on purchasing and wearing children's clothing and optimal sizes, but researches on purchasing and wearing children's clothing and the appropriateness of sizes comparing average body shape and obese children are still inadequate. Therefore, in this research Late Elementary Schoolgirls ranging in age from 12 to 13 are categorized into the average or the obese body type, and by comparing and analyzing purchasing and wearing children's clothing and the appropriateness of its sizes between these groups, the problems in the size system of children's apparel are realized and the basic information about designing children's clothing for average body shape and non-average body shape(out-size)children are presented. The survey questions were composed of topics about general personal information, the purchasing practice and wearing practice, the appropriateness of its size when wearing children's clothing and the practice of mending apparel according to the satisfaction level of children's clothing sizes. Because subjects are often too big to wear children's clothing, and in the case of obese children the deviation of a body type is amplified, therefore in buying and wearing children's clothing, they demonstrate different forms of purchasing and wearing characteristics than adults. Considering the practice of increasing obesity in children due to westernized eating habits and decreased physical activities, along with developing programs for improving obesity, the development of an optimal size system in response to various body types will become an important challenge.

This study was done to classify children's somatotypes and to provide the fundamental data or their clothing sizing system for the purpose of designing patterns fur children's wear and standardizing sizes of ready-made clothes. The sampling was done for 7-8 years-old-girl living in Pusan and Kyungsangnam-do. Data from each girl comprises 33 anthropometic measurments and 7 photogrphic measurments, based on the somatometric characteristics of girls which I had obtained. Factor analysis, cluster analysis, discriminant analysis were performed for statistical analysis of the data. Seven factors which explain 76.49% of the whole variances were extracted. The thirst and second factors which explain more than 70% of the whole variances represent 'horizontal size 'and 'vortical size', which characterize most aspects of the body shape of the subjects. On the basis of the cluster analysis, three different upper body types were categorized. Type 1 has quite long surface length of the upper body and rising shoulders and are close to the averages of this age group. Type 2 has highest stature, biggest frame, dropped shoulders and surface length of the upper body similar to the type 1. Type 3 has shortest stature, smallest frame and sloping shoulders. According to the analysis to discriminate somatotypes of the upper body by this age group, the discriminative items in discriminant function are follows. As this group, waist circumference of discriminant function 1 and front length and length between both shoulder points of discriminant function 2 have large coefficient values.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the 45 measuring items for the clothing construction in order to observe the factorial structure of items and to extract the common factor and the special unique factor from data. The sample for the study was drawn randomly out of senior high schoolgirls in Seoul urban area. The size of sample was 301 girls between age 16 and 18. The method of analysis was applied by the principal component analysis with orthogonal rotation after extraction of 9 major factors. All of the above data was analyzed by the computer installed at Seoul National University. From these analyses, the major findings can be summerized as follows: 1. The results of factor analysis generally indicated that the first factor was clustered with 15 items, length measures and height measures. The eigenvalue of the first factor was 16.5 and the cumulative percentage of variables 36.6%. 2. The second factor was clustered with width measures, girth measures and weight of 19 items. The eigenvalue of the second factor was 6.5 and the cumulative percentage of variables 51.0%.
Lateral cephalometric head film measurements on forty schoolboys and forth-nine schoolgirls with excellent occlusions in Korean were compared with similar measurements on Caucasoids.
The following conclusions were obtained.
1. The cranio-facial skeletal pattern of Korean students was measured and compared with Caucasoids.
2. In cranio-facial observation, ANB and SN-Palatal plane was not significant in girls only, Gonial angle and 1 to NA were not significant in girls and boys, compared with Caucasoids.
3. In dentition area observation, the mean posterior dental height (A+B) and occlusal plane length was not significant in girls only, the mean anterior vertical dimension and P angle was not significant in boys, Q angle was not significant in boys in boys and girls, compared with Caucasoids.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the hair style, and perceiver's generation on the perception of a high schoolgirl's image. A quasi-experimental method by questionnaire was used. The subjects were 253 high schoolgirls and their mothers living in Jinju. The data were analyzed by using frequency, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha-reliability coefficient, three-way ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple ranges test. The high schoolgirl's image was derived in five dimensions by factor analysis: schoolgirl look, prettiness, individuality, activeness, and cuteness. In the image based on the hair length, it was assessed that the short cut and the bobbed hair styles looked more like school girls. And the short cut and long hair styles were considered as showing individuality. On the other hand, the bobbed hair style was assessed as cuter than styles of other lengths. For the bangs, the short bangs were found to more school-girl look and cuter than the long bangs. The mother group, whose ages were older than that of the other group, evaluated that the stimulative pictures had more school-girl look, individuality, prettiness, activeness and cuteness, compared to how the school girl group evaluated. It was shown that the generation gap produced different opinions about the stimulative pictures. Therefore hair style, bangs style, and difference in generations were found to be the variables affecting perception of high school girl image.
The research was carried out by posing a questionnaire, making middle and high schoolstudents 549 in Taehu an object of this research, in order to grasp the residential outlook of juveniles.1. The first order of reason why they have resided in present their houses was by a school group and their parents' choice and work place and second order of reason was by their parents' choice, life convenience in present house add traffice convenience And there was littledifference in the first and second residential reasons according to sew.2. In compareson with past and present house type, past and present house type shewed same tendency and future wanted house type was separate house absolutely.3. Points to be considered in selectong future were in the order of facilities, traffice,, surrounding, educational, social and economical circumstances. There was little difference in almost items to be considered in choosing accordant to sew. But in case of schoolgirls, they consisered more items in selecting houses than in schoolboys.4. As a result of researching ideal house of juvenile, happy family was most Preferred and the desire to possess house was expressed strongly.5. The first value on house was health of family, the stability, the stabi]ity and the residential convenience. And schoolboys attacged more importance to the gealth of family, ghe stability and the education fer children than in case of school-girls but on the other hand school girls attached more importance to economical value house and happy and harmonious family.
This study focused on the traits of variables related to parenthood, family strengths and perceptions of future parent's roles. The subjects were the 409 middle school students in Gwangju. Using structured questionnaire surveyed between 2007. 6. 20 and 2007. 6. 26. Data were analyzed with Frequency, Percentage, Mean, Std, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, T-test, Chi-Square, ANOVA, and Duncan's test using SPSS/PC WIN 14.0 program. The major findings were as follows: 1. When asked if you married, most students replied "yes", and childbirth plan replied "yes". The 78.2 percent of schoolgirls and 74.6 percent of schoolboys responded that responsibility of bringing up children was man and wife. The most important Parental meaning was 'fosterer'. The middle school students' family strengths scores were higher than median(3.00). Over all, the perceptions of future parent's roles were high. 2. Perceptions of future parent's roles showed partially significant difference according to the most important Parental meaning, responsibility of bringing up children, intimacy with parent, dual-income family, and family strengths.
This study developed basic pattern for competition figure skating wear for school girls. Figure skating wears are difficult for making basic patterns based on standard size chart, because girls' body size are slimmer and more slender compared to the general girl's and the competition wears such as, swim suit with sleeves are, closely in contact with the player's body. The competition wears for school girl was made with consideration of changing of the body shape, physical exercises, and various specificities according to stretch material. To raise artistic effect while doing beautiful motions, and to assist in facile technique motions, competition wears need to have enough ease on the side line from waist to armpit, from armpit to wrist, and in trunk girth including crotch girth. Also, to stand out in beauty, a costume designing has a proper skirt position, length, flare width, and a tight bodice according to the player's body proportion. Most of the customers are displeased at the high price, unfitness of size, insufficient design, and difficulty in access, since they are not sold in sporting goods store. Therefore, a competition wear's basic pattern was made through scientific and emotional process including concerns on material properties, room for activities, and ideal body proportion. Systemizing the basic patterns of production method will solve high repairing expenses, unsuitable sizing, and improve accessibility for purchase.
Aming to find out any relationship between the health status of high school girls and the early loss of their parent, the Cornell Medical Index (C.M.I) Questionnaire and interview method were used for 314 girls as an experimental group and for 300girls as a control group. The study results showed as follows: 1. A significant difference in the health status between the experimental group and the control group was found in that the C.M.I. score showed higher in the experimental group than in the control group. 2. A significant difference in the health status was found in accordance with the sex of the lost parent, the cause of loss of the substitute for the lost parent, the age of losing parent and the duration of loss of parent in the experimental group. 3. A significant difference in the health status in the experimental group showed according to the three variables in the six variables-the sex of the lost parent, the cause of loss of parent, the substitute for the lost parent, the age of losing parent, the duration of loss of parent and the degree of economic support. The most significant factor toward the health status was shown by the age of losing parent, the sex of lost parent and the cause of loss of parent with the order.

The purpose of this study was to improve the clothing life of the children between the nine to twelve by making a scientific and rational basic bodice pattern. The comparison of the eight pattern drafting currently used in Korea was referred in order to make new basic pattern. Three hundred fifty-two subjects from 9 to 12 years old in Seoul area were measured on 19 items. The measurements (24 items including 19 measured items and 5 drafted items that were difficult to measure) were analyzed by mean values and correlation coefficients between each item. This new pattern attempted to set the ease for clothing from experiments of the changes of body surface in motion. On the basis of the above results, a new bodice basic pattern was developed and tested with wearing three times. Through the experiments in measuring the changes of the body surface in motion, it was concluded that it desirable to set a standard of 12cm clothing ease on the bust circumference and 4cm on the waist circumference. The correlation coefficient of the tack width to across back was relatively high (r= .677), therefore, the latter measuring items were eliminated. A grading method was adopted to determine the width and depth of neckline and shoulder slope.
