  • The aim of this study is to survey and analyze the recognition of teachers and students about methods for entering general high school. For this study, firstly current methods for entering general high school of 16 offices of education were compared and analyzed. Secondly recognition of teachers in middle school or high school and of students in middle school about methods for entering general high school were surveyed and analyzed. Major consequences of this study are as follows: Firstly, most teachers preferred the method by both school life records and the entrance test but most students preferred the method by school life records. Secondly, teachers recognized the difference of school life records according to sex and school and the decrese of academic achievement from decrese of motive for studies as serious problems of general high school entrance method by school life records. Thirdly, students recognized competition among students in the same school and the difference of school life records according to sex as serious problems of general high school entrance method by school life records.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting adaptation to school life of freshmen enrolled in nursing at a Junior College. Method: The data were collected from questionnaires filled out by 312 nursing students in two schools at J and I city from March 7-11, 2011. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN18 program. Result: Self-esteem and adaptation to school life were higher than previous advanced research showed, self-efficacy was moderate and stress to school life was lower than other studies. School adaptation level was related to satisfaction of friendship, school life and the nursing program. The subjects who have chosen nursing by themselves and male students scored higher in their school adaptation. The greatest factors affecting adaptation to school life were satisfaction of school life and stress respectively. Conclusion: Inpre-admission, enough information about nursing school life through experience of previous students must be given. Then, a school adaptation program which incorporates counseling and mentoring should be provided for supporting understanding of school life.

  • To isolate novel and useful microbial enzymes from uncultured gastrointestinal microorganisms, a fecal microbial metagenomic library of the pygmy loris was constructed. The library was screened for amylolytic activity, and 8 of 50,000 recombinant clones showed amylolytic activity. Subcloning and sequence analysis of a positive clone led to the identification a novel gene (amyPL) coding for ${\alpha}$-amylase. AmyPL was expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) and the purified AmyPL was enzymatically characterized. This study is the first to report the molecular and biochemical characterization of a novel ${\alpha}$-amylase from a gastrointestinal metagenomic library.

The students who participated in the school soccer league program expressed better satisfaction with school life than the other who didn't, and the gap between the two was statistically significant. 2. The students who participated in the school soccer league program, the students who showed higher participation frequency expressed better satisfaction with school life than the other who didn't, and the gap between the two was statistically significant. 3. The student who participated in the school soccer league program, the higher level students of soccer ability expressed better satisfaction with school life than the lower level student of that, and the gap between the two was statistically significant.
