Objectives The study was designed to report the clinical effects of scalp acupuncture on autistic children. Methods These patients were treated by scalp acupuncture. We observed the improvement of his disease through K-CARS and E-CLAC tests. Results By using scalp acupuncture, we could make a considerable improvement of autistic score(K-CARS). Conclusions The above results suggest that scalp acupuncture can be an effective treatment for autistic children.

The purpose of this study is to examine how Bang's Scalp Acupunture affects the aphasia in stroke patients. Subject was 1 stroke patient who was admitted at Daejon University Oriental Hospital. The degree of aphasia was measured by the Daegu Aphasia Battery. The result showed that a comparative study of pre Bang's Scalp Acupunture & post Bang's Scalp Acupunture, aphasia was improved. On the basis of one case result, Bang's Scalp Acupunture is effective in treating poststroke aphasia. Serial studies must be done and requested in the aspects of improvement contrast, improvement durancy and the improvement difference on the healing period.

본 연구는 루이보스 추출물이 지루성 두피가 있는 중년 남성의 두피 유, 수분량, 가려움증, 붉음증, 청백색 두피톤 등에 미치는 효과를 규정하고자 시도하였다. 루이보스 추출물을 함유하지 않은 샴푸를 사용한 Control군과 루이보스 추출물을 함유한 샴푸를 사용한 RS군, 루이보스 추출믈을 함유한 샴푸와 두피 개선제를 사용한 RS+S군으로 구분하여 실험을 진행하였다. 본 연구결과 두피의 유분량, 수분량, 각질제거에 의한 두피 표면에 변화, 두피 가려움증, 두피 붉음증, 두피 청백색 두피톤에 대하여 Control군에서는 유의한 두피 변화가 나타나지 않았으나, 루이보스를 함유한 샴푸와 두피개선제를 모두 사용한 RS+S군에서 루이보스가 첨가된 샴푸만 사용한 RS군보다 지루성 두피 개선에 큰 개선율을 보이는 것으로 확인되었다. 이와같은 결과는 루이보스 추출물을 함유한 샴푸 및 두피 개선제가 지루성 두피의 유, 수분 밸런스를 개선해주고, 두피의 가려움증이나 붉음증, 두피톤을 효과적으로 개선시켜 줌에 따라 추후 항산화 활성 성분을 가진 지루성 두피 개선에 효과적인 두피용 화장품 소재로써의 가능성이 있음이 사료된다.

본 연구에서는 낮은 연령층과 여성에게도 확대되고 있는 탈모와 문제성 두피에 대한 기초 연구자료를 제공하고자, 문제성 두피를 가진 20대 여성을 대상으로 L-Menthol, Salicylic acid, Dexpanthenol이 함유되어 있는 B사의 헤어 앰플을 매일 사용하였을 때, 4주 후 두피 및 모발에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구 결과, L-Menthol, Salicylic acid, Dexpanthenol이 함유되어 있는 B사의 앰플을 사용하였을 때 연구 대상자들의 두피 상태가 실험 전에 비하여 염증 완화, 두피 열 및 홍반 감소, 가려움증과 모발 빠짐 감소, 청결해진 모공 상태, 모발 굵기 증가 등 개선 효과를 보였으며, 연구 대상자들의 두피 자가진단을 통해 실험 전과 후의 두피 만족도, 두피 생기와 탄력, 열 발생도, 세정 후 두피 당김, 가려움증에 대한 개선 효과가 나타났음이 확인되었다. 이와같은 연구 결과를 통하여 L-Menthol, Salicylic acid, Dexpanthenol이 함유된 제품이 문제성 두피 및 모발 개선에 도움이 될 것으로 사료되어 진다.

Objectives: Objectives of this research is to test hair growth effect of the hair scalpdetox five step program.Methods : Data for this research is gathered from participants who are suffering from hair loss and have completed scalpdetox five step program at a esthetic by receiving treatments twenty times constantly with once or twice a week during three months from March 2015 to April 2016. The hair scalpdetox program consists of five steps : the first step is shampooing, the second is scalp massage with aroma oils, the third is vertical meridian scrapping massage, the fourth is applying scalp and hair pack made with natural herbs, and the last is scalp massage with an indirect high frequency massaging device.Results: Subjective evaluations from the participants show that overall hair scalp conditions are meaningfully improved. Participants evaluated that tested approach helps hair growth by increasing the number of hair (p<.01) and helps to make their hair thicker (p<.01). Visual observations with magnification by 60 times and 200 times show improvement in hair scalp condition and clean opening of pores. Photographs of hair loss parts of each participant also show improvement in hair growth.Conclusions: From the evaluation of the participants for the test program and from visual observations, we conclude that suggested hair scalpdetox five step program has effect on improving scalp, hair condition, and hair growth.

Objectives : The study was designed to evaluate the effects of scalp acupuncture treatment on patients with insomnia in China. Methods : A journal search was performed using China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI) from 1994 to 2011. Key words used within the search were 'insomnia' and 'scalp acupuncture'. Results : 19 studies were selected. 9 RCTs and 2 case control studies showed that scalp acupuncture therapy reported better results than routine acupuncture, western medicine, and herbal medicine therapy. 8 case reports described a significant improvement in patients with insomnia by scalp acupuncture. Conclusions : There have been many studies regarding scalp acupuncture on patients with insomnia in China and these studies can be applied to clinical practices within Korea.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to obtain some knowledge about the scalp acupuncture treatment on Parkinson's disease for the future practice and the research from the clinical studies in China. Methods : The literatures were searched using the database-China Academic Journals(CAJ) (2006-2011). Clinical studies of scalp acupuncture for Parkinson's disease-Randomized controlled trial(RCT), case control study, case series, case report- were included. Results : Of 65 articles, 12 Clinical studies met our inclusion criteria. Three case series reported a significant improvement in the patients with Parkinson's disease by scalp acupuncture, and 9 RCTs reported a significant effectiveness of scalp acupuncture as a monotherapy or as a combination therapy with Madopa Tablet(Levodopa + Benserazide HCl) treatment. Conclusions : The results of this study could be used for the future study about scalp acupuncture for Parkinson's disease.

Background: Scalp seborrheic dermatitis is a common disease characterized by flaking and itching of the scalp. Conventional treatment options, such as the use of topical corticosteroids and antifungal agents, may cause adverse effects and reduce user satisfaction rates; thus, it is important to explore other treatment options for scalp seborrheic dermatitis. Objective: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a new-formula shampoo containing natural ingredients, including the extract of Rosa centifolia petals, epigallocatechin gallate, zinc pyrithione, and climbazole. Methods: A total of 50 patients with scalp seborrheic dermatitis were enrolled and divided into two groups: the new-formula shampoo-treated group and the 1.5% ciclopirox olamine shampoo-treated group. Clinical severity scores, sebum secretion, and inflammatory cytokines were assessed. In addition, patient satisfaction and adverse events were assessed using a questionnaire. Results: The new-formula shampoo was comparable with ciclopirox in reducing the clinical severity scores and sebum secretion. Patients' improvement scores and user satisfaction rates were higher in the new-formula shampoo group than in the 1.5% ciclopirox olamine shampoo-treated group. The inflammatory cytokine levels considerably changed in both groups during the course of the study. Conclusion: Thus, the new-formula shampoo can be considered a treatment option for patients with scalp seborrheic dermatitis.

Objectives : To report one case of semi-coma patient was treated by scalp acupuncture with electric stimulation. Methods : Patient (state of semi-coma) was treated by scalp acupuncture with electric stimulation, herbal medication and physical therapy. The improvement of patient was measured every other week by Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS), Modified Bathel Index(MBI), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS). Results : We observed the patient decrease in NIHSS score and increase in GCS and MBI. Symptoms of patient such as semi-coma were improved following the treatment. Conclusions : It is suggested that oriental medical treatment; scalp acupuncture with electric stimulation, herbal medication and physical therapy were effective in semi-coma caused by traumatic brain injury.

이번 연구에서 우리는 6종의 미세조류 ; Phaeodacylum tricrnutum (PT), Chaetoceros gracilis (CG), Nanochloris oculata (NO), Pavlova lutheri (PL), Chlorella ellipsoidae (CE), and Scendedemus obliquus (SO)를 이용하여 탈모 예방 및 두피 개선효과를 살펴보았다. DPPH 라디칼 소거능 실험에서는 SO, CG, ST9 순으로 활성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. OH 소거능 실험 결과, CG (6.6~42.1%), ST9 (26.0~44.0%), SO (7.8~44.3%)으로 유의적인 효과를 보였다. 그외에도 세포증식실험에서는, SO가 인간표피세포주인 HaCaT 세포 증식을 촉진시켰으며, CG와 SO가 모유두세포주인 HFDPC 세포 증식을 촉진시키는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 5-alpha reductase 저해능 실험결과, PT, CG, SO가 유의적으로 효소활성을 저해하였다. 따라서, 이번 연구에 사용한 6종의 미세조류들 중, 항산화활성, 세포증식 효과, 5-alpha reductase 저해능을 보인 몇가지 조류들이 탈모예방 및 두피개선을 위한 제품개발에 좋은 원료가 될 가능성이 있음을 제시한다.
