In other to understand the effect of yellow soil to mortality of Korean scallops, P. yessoensis, We investigated its mortality at indoor tanks. The environmental conditions such as water temperature, Salinity, Do and pH were continued constantly during the experimental periods. The 100% of survival rate showed in two experiments groups such as 0.1% and 0.4% of concentration of yellow soil and the other groups as 0.05% and 0.2% of concentration of yellow soil was appeared one dead scallop at each group for 8 days of the experiment periods. the gills of scallop in high concentration of yellow soil (0.2% and 0.4% groups) were covered by yellow soil particles so that this group's scallop should be got a high stress from yellow soil. I think this situation will be more continued for long time the scallop will become to dead. The results of bacteriological analysis did not isolated from haemolymph of scallops and no Perkinsus infectious disease in scallops and the scallops showed necrosis and degeneration on digestive grand and gills of scallop.

Sequences of partial 18S rDNA have been analyzed to elucidate genetic diversity of scallops collected around Korean sea, The scallops used in genetic comparison are Argopecten irradians concentricus, Amusium japonicum japonicum, Chlamys farreri farreri, Chlamys (Swiftopecten) swifti and Patinopecten yessoensis. The 18S rDNA sequences were aligned by Clustalx program. Phylogenetic tree was drawn by Treecon program, The scallops were divided into two groups-the Family Pectinidae containing A. japonicum japonicum and the Family Propeamussiidae containing Argopecten, Chlamys and Patinopecten genera. The Family Propeamussiidae was also divided into the Supergenera Aequipecten containing A. irradians concentricus and Supergenera Chlamys containing C. farreri farreri, C. swifti and P. yessoensis. The species of C. swifti was closer to the P. yessoensis rather than C. farreri farreri in respect to nuclear 18S rDNA sequence.
The purpose of this study was to determine changes in the growth rates and the degree of shell bioerosion exhibited by endolithic organisms of the Japanese scallop family, Patinopecten (Mizuhopecten) yessoensis, on the coast of Furugelm Island (Peter the Great Bay, northwest of East Sea = Sea of Japan) over the last three decades. The areas studied are affected by lumen (Tumangang) River run-off, which is enriched by organic matter and polluting agents. It was found that the linear growth rates of the Japanese scallops living along the coasts of Furugelm Island have decreased over the last three decades. The degree of bioerosion of scallop shells has significantly increased for the same period. These phenomena may be explained by a gradual increase in bottom sediment silting, organic enrichment and pollution of the areas being studied. It was found that the degree of scallop shell bioerosion increased with the scallop's age. At present, In each age group, the shells of the scallops sampled from the muddy sand showed greater erosion than the shells of individuals collected from the sandy substrate.

To understand the characteristics of paralytic shellfish poisoning in a major production area of the bay scallop Argopecten irradians in Korea, the seasonal variation and anatomical distribution of paralytic shellfish toxin (PST) were determined in bay scallops collected from the Gyeongnam coast of Korea from March to May 2018. PST levels in bay scallops in the survey area showed remarkable seasonal variation. PST was first detected at a level of 0.42 mg/kg on April 2, 2018, and the highest toxin level (3.15 mg/kg) was recorded on April 12. Among the tissues of bay scallops, the highest proportion of PST was found in the viscera ($54.9%{\pm}17.8%$), followed by the adductor ($22.8%{\pm}10.9%$), gonads ($8.9%{\pm}4.6%$), gills ($7.1%{\pm}3.7%$), and mantle ($6.3%{\pm}.8%$). In addition, with higher PST levels in the whole tissues of bay scallops, the proportion of PST in the viscera increased, whereas those in the mantle, gill, and gonad tissues decreased. In a high-toxicity group with more than 2.0 mg/kg PST in the whole tissues, the proportion of PST in the viscera was $71.8%{\pm}6.7%$.

Mass mortalities of farmed shellfish, mostly in summer season, thus named mass summer mortalities, have been a global issue in shellfish aquaculture. The 2013 mass summer mortalities in the confined waters of Goseong Bay, Goseong, Korea were quite a unique and intensive for two farmed species, the Pacific oysters, Crassostrea gigas, and bay scallops, Argopecten irradians. The mortalities were progressive from the bottom of the suspended oysters and caged scallops in the waters, reaching up to 80% for the oyster and 95% for the scallop in about 20 days after the first occurrence, early August, 2013. We monitored a wide range of environmental factors, including water temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), salinity, turbidity, acidity (pH), organic and inorganic matters, chemical oxygen demand (COD), suspected pathogenic agent, and phytoplankton composition throughout the water column where the two species were suspended or caged. Our survey concluded that the hypoxia or anoxia might be a major cause of the mortalities. Here, we detailed the mortalities and ways to arrive at the conclusion.
We examined the effect of an artificial change of water temperature on the survival rate of Korean Scallop, Patinopecten yessoensis. As for the change of water temperature, the aspects appearing on the eastern coast of Korea during spring and summer were artificially prepared in the rearing aquarium in the laboratory. The survival rate of Scallop, due to the stimulus of a low water temperature in spring, was an average of 51.6%. Medium-sized scallops averaged 4.4%, which is lower than that of small-sized ones (85.82%) and large-sized ones (55.0%). The survival rate of Scallop, due to the stimulus of water at a high temperature in summer, was an average of 43.3%. As for small-sized scallops, they averaged a 46.7% survival rate which is lower than that of medium-sized scallops (60.0%). In general, the survival rate was lower in summer than in spring. Such results show that the death of Scallop, has close relevance to the change of water temperature. The low survival rate of medium-sized ones. Alternatively, medium-sized scallops have to get through winter, even if they cannot grow enough compared with large-sized ones. This is because large-sized scallops have already been adapted to the change of water temperature by getting through winter twice.
Age, annual growth pattern, and other ecologically important observations are reporting from the analysis of annual growth annuli of the sun and moon scallop, Amusium japonicum. Field survey made from 1993 to 1994 indicated that the sun and moon scallops are mostly distributed along the southern coast of Cheju-do, especially around the Sogwipo area. They inhabit on muddy sand bottom, at depth between 30 and 40 m where water temperature varies from 14 to $23^{\circ}C$ annually. The gonadal analysis indicated that the spawning mostly occurs during October and December and they exhibit multiple spawning peaks. The formation of annual growth annuli was found to be related with their spawning period. The shell growth on A. japonium japonicum appeared that their shell growth rate is comparatively faster than that of other scallops : 1. japonium japonicum reaches 6.28 cm in shell hight at the first year and 9.07 cm at the second year. The growth rate of gonadal somatic tissue was also found to be faster than growth rates of other scallops. One year old scallops weigh about 18.8 g, two and three year old scallops weigh 60 and 102.4 g. Based upon these observations, it is concluded that A. japonium japonicum can be a valuable species for aquaculture development due to their rapid growth.
Data obtained from field observation revealed that the degree of shell bioerosion of the scallop, Patinopecten (Mizuhopecten) yessoensis, by endolithic organisms significantly higher on the muddy sand than on the sand. At the area studied, the polychaete worm, Polydora brevipalpa (=Polydora ciliata brevipalpa, Polydora ciliata Okuda, Not Johnston, Polydora variegata), which is common symbiotic species for the scallop made 95-100% of total scallop shell bioerosion at the area studied. The muddy bottom sediments enriched by organic matter create favourable conditions for development of microphytobenthos and bacteria, which are predominantly consumed by P. brevipalpa. Linear regressions for the degree of shell bioerosion on the scallop shell height, total wet weight and adductor muscle wet weight revealed negative relationships between them for the scallops inhabiting both sand and muddy sand. The influence of polychaetes on scallops is complex. They may be food competitors. Polychaete can directly affect the host through their boreholes. Scallop expends energy for shell regeneration to prevent the polychaete penetration into its interior cavity. It was found that the degree of shell bioerosion increased considerably with scallop age.
The present tendency of electrical and electronics is concentrated on MEMS devices for advantage of miniaturization, intergration, low electric power and low cost. Therefore it is essential that high aspect ratio and high etch rate by HDP technology development, so that silicon deep trench etching reactions was studied by ICP equipment. Deep trench etching of silicon was investigated as function of platen power, etch step time of etch/passivation cycle time and SF$\_$6/:C$_4$F$\_$8/ flow rate. Their effects on etch profile, scallops, etch rate, uniformity and selectivity were also studied.
