Video assisted thoracic sympathectomy or sympathicotomy is a safe and effective therapy for the treatment of palmar hyperhidrosis with immediate symptomatic imporvement. However the degree of satisfaction may diminish with time due to cmpensatory sweating or excessive hand dryness. Therefore by comparing and assessing the degree of symptomatic improvement or compensatory sweating following sympathectomy or sympathicotomy at various levels we aim to determine the optimal level of sympathetic nerve block which will result in minimal side effects and maximal benefit. Material and Method: Among 194 patients having undergone video assisted thoracic sympathectomy or sympathicotomy between January 1996 and June 1999, 137 patients who responded to either telephone interview or questionnaire were included in the current study. The patients were divided into three groups. Group I(n=61) ; patients having undergone T2,3,4 sympathectomy group II(35) ; patients having undergone T2 sympathicotomy and group III(41) ; patients having undergone limited T2 sympathicotomy which consist of block of interganglionic neuronal fiber on the third rib. The parameters studied comprised of pre- and post-operative palmar temperature change treatment satisfaction the degree of compensatory sweating or discomfort from palmar dryness postoperative complication and changes in plantar sweating Result : There was no difference in age and sex among the groups and the mean postoperative elevation in palmar temperature was 21.59$^{\circ}C$ without any differences among the groups. Patients expressing satisfaction were 65.6%, 62.9% and 90.24% in groups I, II and III, respectively(p<0.05) Moderate to severe compensatory sweating was present in 65.6% 51.4%, and 24.39%, in group I, II, and III, respectively(p<0.05) Slight but comfortable amount of palmar humidness was expressed in decreasing order group III(41.6%) group I(24.6%) and group II(5.7%) (p<0.05) Ineffectiveness or recurrence was present in 5patients in group I(8.2%) 1 patient in group II(2.9%) and none in group III. With regards to plantar sweating decrease in sweating was expressed in 43 patients(31.4%) while similar degree of sweating in 61 patients(44.5%) and increase in sweating in another 33 patinets(24.1%) Conclusion : Limited T2 sympathicotomy resection of the lower interganglionic neuronal fiber of the second sympathetic ganglion on the third rib showed immediate effect in palmar hyperhidrosis and caused lesser compensatory sweating and hand dryness.
Objective : The purpose of this study is to know the satisfaction of Miso Facial Acupuncture on thirty-one case. Method : Thirty-one patients(more than third treatment) answer the question, It include age, sex, purpose, the number of treatment time, degree of satisfaction, so on. And I study satisfaction of ages, treatment time, treatment purpose. Results and conclusion : Among the thirty-one patients, 83.37% satisfacted the treatment result. and They will admonish the other peaple to treat Miso Facial Acupuncture. Miso Facial Acupuncture is includuced of one of as an effective therapy to the for skin disease such as freckles, acness, facial palsy and facial dissymmetry.
This study was conducted to investigate the pain relief score and the degree of satisfaction among elderly people. This study has done from July 11th, 2001 to August 31st, 2001 at Hydrotherapy Facility in the College of Bogun(Taejon Health Sciences College) located in Taejeon, Korea. Eighty-eight patients were participated to the questionnaire. The results were as follow. 1. The mean value of the pain relief score in the female group was higher than the mean value of the pain relief score in the male group(p<0.05). The mean value of the pain relief score in the group having religion was higher than the group not having religion(p<0.05). The pain relief score was not significantly different in age, presence of spouse, the way of housing, and academic background. The degree of satisfaction was not significantly different in sex, age, presence of spouse, the way of housing, religion, and academic background. 2. The pain relief score and the degree of satisfaction were not significantly different in the presence of comorbidity, going with the hydrotherapy, and the moment of diagnosis. 3. According to the ADL, the mean value of the pain relief score in the Independent was higher than the mean value in maximal assistance and minimal assistance(p<0.05). Independent, maximal assistance and minimal assistance were not significantly different in the degree of satisfaction (p<0.05). 4. The pain relief score and the degree of satisfaction were not significantly different in the legion of pain.
Background: We studied 150 patients who received intravenous patient controlled analgesia (PCA) after total abdominal hysterectomy to evaluate pain relief, analgesic consumption, patient's satisfaction and side effects. Methods: We made total 40 ml of analgesic mixture with morphine 40 mg, ketorolac 120 mg, droperidol 3 mg and normal saline. Loading/bolus/basal infusion dose and lockout interval was 2 ml, 1.5 ml, 0.5 ml/hr and 10 min, respectively. Numerical rating scale (NRS) pain score, cumulative analgesic consumption, degree of satisfaction, and incidence of side effects were evaluated. Also, correlation of age and edu ion with analgesic consumption were evaluated. Results: The average pain scores using NRS were $3.1{\pm}1.7$ (6 h), $2.1{\pm}1.5$ (24 h), $1.7{\pm}1.5$ (48 h). The average cumulative analgesic consumption were $11.7{\pm}5.0$ ml (6 h), $23.0{\pm}6.7$ ml (24 h), $32.1{\pm}3.7$ ml (48 h). The degree of satisfaction in postoperative pain control was good in 94% of patients. There was no correlation between degree of satisfaction and analgesic consumption. Also age and level of edu ion did not correlated with analgesic consumption. Conclusions: Intravenous PCA with morphine, ketorolac, and droperidol is an effective method of postoperative pain control because it provides adequate pain relief and a few side effects with high patient's satisfaction. However, age and level of education did not correlated with analgesic consumption.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of educational programs on the needs and satisfaction level of nursing activities related with patients receiving anti-cancer chemotherapy. The subjects, 85 cancer patients who were admitted at St. Mary's hospital, who had taken chemotherapy between January and March, 2001 were selected for the study. Of the subjects educational program was applied to 43 patients and the other 42 patients remained and the control group. Educational booklets developed by investigators were validated by a group of judges consisted of nursing professors, physicians and head nurses. Cronbach's $\alpha$ for measurement tools used in this study were 0.96 - 0.98. The results of the study were as follows: 1. Satisfaction scores for received nursing activities m the experiment group were higher than that in the control group. 2. Needs scores for nursing in the experimental group showed no significant differences compared to the control group. The two groups showed different satisfaction levels in different categories of nursing: physical. educational. therapeutic and socio-psychological, in which the therapeutic category scored the highest. 3. Due to the general characteristics. there were no variables to affect the degree of nursing need regarding the two groups. However, in satisfaction level of nursing services, there was a contrary phenomenon between the two group relating to education level (p=0.03). Patients with higher educational levels tend to be more satisfactory. The results strongly indicated that educational program is effective in increasing the satisfaction of patients receiving anti-cancer chemotherapy.
Purpose: In this study, the critical pathway for laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients was developed and applied for clinical study. The effectiveness of the critical pathway was analyzed. Method: The subjects with no critical pathway services of this study were 30 laparoscopic cholecystectomy operation patients, who were hospitalized in B General Hospital in Busan from Nov. 28. 2000 to May 2. 2001. The subjects with critical pathway services of this study were 30 laparoscopic cholecystectomy operation patients, who were hospitalized in B General Hospital in Busan from June. 11. 2001 to Oct. 31. 2001. Results: 1. Development for critical pathway Preliminary critical pathway for the laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients was developed though analysis of the reference and 34 case of medical record. The items on the y-axis were assessment, test, treatment, diet, fluid, consult, medication, activity and education and the items on the x-axis were till 3days after operation. The developed critical pathway was applied in clinical field. 2. Effectiveness of application on developed critical pathwayPost operational complication was not found in neither the critical pathway using Group nor Non-using Group. Hospitalization period mean was 4.63 days for the using Group and 5.93 days for the Non-using Group(P=.001). The mean cost for medical examination and treatment for the using Group was 786,270 won, 117,454 won(12.9%) less than that of the Non-using Group, 903,724 won(P=.000). The degree of satisfaction for the using group was 3.7 points, for the Non-using Group, 3.15 points. The degree of satisfaction for the used Group was 0.55 points higher than that for the Non-using Group and there was a statistically significant difference(P=.000). Concousion: From results of this study, Using the critical pathway in the laparoscopic cholecystectomy operational patients was effective in decreasing the hospitalization period and cost, and increasing the satisfaction about the medical service.
보건의료환경 변화에 따른 환자들의 의료수요에 부응하고 합리적인 경영대책을 마련하여 환자들에게 양질의 치과의료서비스를 제공하고 진료환경을 개선시킬 목적으로 계속구강건강관리 환자 149명을 대상으로 치과의료서비스를 제공 받은 후의 진료 만족도와 진료만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하였다. SPSS Ver 13.0을 이용하여 일반적 특성에 따른 치과의료서비스 만족도, 치과의료서비스의 질에 대한 만족도는 평균분석을 하였고, 일반적 특성 및 치과의료서비스 만족도가 치과진료 만족도에 미치는 영향은 회귀분석을 하였다. 다중회귀분석에서 치과진료 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 직원요인, 외부환경요인, 진료절차였다. 치과의료 서비스의 질을 향상시키고 환자의 만족도를 높이기 위해서는 직원들의 체계적인 관리 및 교육이 이루어져야 할 것이다.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine factors related to the satisfaction level of patients with dental services. Methods : The subjects in this study were 200 patients at three different dental clinics in South Gyeongsang Province, on whom a survey was conducted from June 1 to July 31, 2009. The collected data were analyzed, and the findings of the study were as follows. Results : In regard to the general characteristics of the patients investigated, the women(61.5%) out-numbered the men. By age, those who were at the age of 30 and down made up the largest age group(47.0%). By academic background, the greatest group received junior-college education(54.0%). By occupation, the company employees constituted the largest group (50.5%). By income, the greatest group earned an income of 2 to 2.99 million won(75.0%). Second, as to connections between the characteristics of dental treatment and the reason of choosing the dental clinics, the largest group(70.4%) chose the dental clinics by word of mouth or the recommendation of others. Concerning the reason of dissatisfaction, the biggest group(72.7%) was unsatisfied with medical costs. As for the degree of explicit complaint, the greatest group(49.7%) sort of complained about what made them dissatisfied. Regarding the type of treatment, the biggest group(49.0%) received prosthodontic treatment. In relation to fear for dental treatment, the largest group(34.0%) feared receiving the treatment, and the biggest group(42.6%) did that due to the sound of machines. Third, satisfaction with services(0.762) had the closest correlation to overall satisfaction level, followed by satisfaction with employees(0.735), satisfaction with dentists(0.644) and satisfaction with convenient facilities (0.579). Fourth, the factors that affected overall satisfaction level were gender, the reason of choosing the dental clinic, satisfaction with dentists, satisfaction with employees, satisfaction with services and satisfaction with convenient facilities. The patients who were better satisfied with services(p<0.001), who were more contented with dentists(p<0.001), who chose the dental clinics by the recommendation of others(p<0.01), who were male(p<0.05), who were more gratified with employees(p<0.05) and who were more contented with convenient facilities expressed better overall satisfaction. Conclusions : The above-mentioned findings suggested that dental institutions should keep track of the expectations of patients to prepare differentiated strategies for marketing and human-resources development in consideration of their own circumstances to boost the satisfaction level of patients. Specifically, it's required to heighten the satisfaction level of patients with dentists.

PURPOSE. This study aims to investigate the degree of subjective pain and the satisfaction of patients who have undergone an implant treatment using a computer-guided template. MATERIALS AND METHODS. A survey was conducted for 135 patients who have undergone implant surgery with and without the use of the computerguided template during the period of 2012 and 2013 in university hospitals, dental hospitals and dental clinics that practiced implant surgery using the computer-guided template. Likert scale and VAS score were used in the survey questions, and the independent t-test and One-Way ANOVA were performed (${\alpha}=.05$). RESULTS. The route that the subjects were introduced to the computer-guided implant surgery using a surgical template was mostly advices by dentists, and the most common reason for which they chose to undergo such surgery was that it was accurate and safe. Most of them gave an answer that they were willing to recommend it to others. The patients who have undergone the computer-guided implant surgery felt less pain during the operation and showed higher satisfaction than those who have undergone conventional implant surgery. Among the patients who have undergone computer-guided implant surgery, those who also had prior experience of surgery without a computer-guided template expressed higher satisfaction with the former (P<.05). CONCLUSION. In this study, it could be seen that the patients who have undergone computer-guided implant surgery employing a surgical template felt less pain and had higher satisfaction than those with the conventional one, and the dentist's description could provide the confidence about the safety of surgery.
This study aims to measure in-patients' willingness to choose the same hospital, and to define the related factors. The willingness was measured by the fact whether in-patients would return to the same hospital for their future hospitalization and can be said as the essence of ascertaining patients' satisfaction. Data was collected from 236 patients hospitalized in two hospitals selected according to its superiority, one being superior in medical technique, the other being superior in facility and equipment. To enhance the comparability between the two hospitals, the department and the diagnosis were matched, and structured questionnaires were self-fill-up. The main findings are as follows. Hospitals were analyzed by their superiority : medical services, facility and equipment. In case of hospitals with superior medical services, the willingness was proportional to positive doctor-patient relationship, to satisfaction with the medical level, and to the acknowledgement of utility in cure. In case of hospitals with superior facility and equipment, the willingness was proportional to the satisfactory state of overall facility. Two types of hospitals were combined and analyzed. The willingness for choosing hospitals with superior medical services was stronger than that for choosing the other hospitals. The satisfaction with overall facility, satisfaction with medical level, acknowledgement of utility in cure, positive doctor-patient relationship, and better consultation produced higher willingness to choose the same hospital. The willingness for the option shows to what degree the hospital suffices patients' expectation. Patients' understanding views were obviously influential. The satisfaction level for medical aspect was more influential than the level for non-medical aspect.
