The north and south panel of a geostationary satellite are used for radiator panels to reject internal heat dissipation of electronics units and utilize several heat pipe networks to control the temperatures of units and the satellite within proper ranges. The design of these panels is very important and essential at the conceptual design and preliminary design stage so several thousands of nodes of more are utilized in order to perform thermal analysis of panel. Generating a large number of nodes(meshes) of the panel takes time and is tedious work because the mesh can be easily changed and updated by locations of units and heat pipes. Also the detailed panel model can not be integrated into spacecraft thermal model due to its node size and limitation of commercial satellite thermal analysis program. Thus development of a program was required in order to generate detailed panel model, to perform thermal analysis and to make a reduced panel model for the integration to the satellite thermal model. This paper describes the development and the verification of panel thermal analysis program with ist main modules and its main functions.

The controller of a model reference adaptive control monitors the plant's inputs and outputs to acknowledge its characteristics. It then adapts itself to the characteristics it encounters instead of behaving in a fixed manner. An important part of every adaptive scheme is the adaptive law for estimating the unknown parameters on line. A more precise model is required to improve performance and to stabilize a given dynamic system, such as a satellite in which performance varies over time and the coefficients change due to disturbances, etc. After model identification, the robust controller ($H{\infty}$) is designed to stabilize the rigid body and flexible body of a satellite, which can be perturbed due to disturbance. The result obtained by the $H{\infty}$ controller is compared with that of the proportional and integration controller which is commonly used for stabilizing a satellite.

Most existing studies on the wide-area differential global positioning system (WADGPS) employed a grid ionosphere model for error correction in the ionospheric delay. The present study discusses the application of satellite-based ionospheric delay model that provides an error model as a plane function with regard to individual satellites in order to improve accuracy in the WADGPS. The satellite-based ionospheric delay model was developed by Stanford University in the USA. In the present study, the algorithm in the model is applied to the WADGPS system and experimental results using measurements in the Korean Peninsula are presented. Around 1 m horizontal accuracy was exhibited in the existing planar fit grid model but when the satellite-based model was applied, correction performance within 1 m was verified.
With the recent development of spatial information technology, the relative importance of satellite image contents has increased to about 62%, the techniques related to satellite images have improved, and their demand is gradually increasing. Accordingly, a standard processing method for the whole process of collection from satellites to distribution of satellite images is required in many countries for efficient distribution of images and improvement of their utilization. This study presents the processor standardization technique for the preprocessing of satellite images including geometric correction, orthorectification, color adjustment, interpolation for DEM (Digital Elevation Model) production, rearrangement, and image data management, which will standardize the subjective, complex process and improve their utilization by making it easy for general users to use them
The field of marketing research in the satellite communication services is still in the early stage of its development. Particularly, in Korean domestic satellite service market, many theoretical and methodological opportunities now exist. In this paper we develop a model, which identifies target markets and promising application services in Korean satellite communication service Market. One key contribution of this paper is a modeling approach to the assessment of market potential and priorities of the application services in each Korean industry. We define and estimate the degree of attractiveness for each segmented market which represents the market potential estimated by current usage of terrestrial services and each market segment's willingness to adopt satellite technology. Since all possible satellite application services are not equally important in the market, they should be differentiated in terms of the likelihood of success. We introduce another index prioritizing application services by tying together three important factors affecting Korean satellite service demand. Some marketing implications of model results are also discussed. Finally the findings of our model are compared with those of other similar studies.
A technique on atmospheric correction algorithm to the multi-band reflectance of Landsat TM imagery has been developed using an atmospheric radiation transfer model for eliminating the atmospheric and surface diffusion effects. Despite the fact that the technique of satellite image processing has been continually developed, there is still a difference between the radiance value registered by satellite borne detector and the true value registered at the ground surface. Such difference is caused by atmospheric attenuations of radiance energy transfer process which is mostly associated with the presence of aerosol particles in atmospheric suspension and surface irradiance characteristics. The atmospheric reflectance depend on atmospheric optical depth and aerosol concentration, and closely related to geographical and environmental surface characteristics. Therefore, when the effects of surface diffuse and aerosol reflectance are eliminated from the satellite image, it is actually corrected from atmospheric optical conditions. The objective of this study is to develop an algorithm for making atmospheric correction in satellite image. The study is processed with the correction function which is developed for eliminating the effects of atmospheric path scattering and surface adjacent pixel spectral reflectance within an atmospheric radiation model. The diffused radiance of adjacent pixel in the image obtained from accounting the average reflectance in the $7{\times}7$ neighbourhood pixels and using the land cover classification. The atmospheric correction functions are provided by a radiation transfer model of LOWTRAN 7 based on the actual atmospheric soundings over the Korean atmospheric complexity. The model produce the upward radiances of satellite spectral image for a given surface reflectance and aerosol optical thickness.
Traditional photogrammetry and satellite image rectification technique have been developed based on control-points for many decades. These techniques are driven from linked points in image space and the corresponding points in the object space in rigorous colinearity or coplanarity conditions. Recently, digital imagery facilitates the opportunity to use features as well as points for images rectification. These implementations were mainly based on rigorous models that incorporated geometric constraints into the bundle adjustment and could not be applied to the new high-resolution satellite imagery (HRSI) due to the absence of sensor calibration and satellite orbit information. This research is an attempt to establish a new Line Based Transformation Model (LBTM), which is based on linear features only or linear features with a number of ground control points instead of the traditional models that only use Ground Control Points (GCPs) for satellite imagery rectification. The new model does not require any further information about the sensor model or satellite ephemeris data. Synthetic as well as real data have been demonestrated to check the validity and fidelity of the new approach and the results showed that the LBTM can be used efficiently for rectifying HRSI.
COMS (Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite) is a geostationary satellite and was developed by KARI for communication, ocean and meteorological observations. COMS was tested under vacuum and very law temperature conditions in order to correlate thermal model and to verify thermal design. The test was performed by using KARI large thermal vacuum chamber. The COMS S/C thermal model was successfully correlated versus the 2 thermal balance test phases. After model correlation, temperatures deviation of all individual unit were less than $5^{\circ}C$ and global deviation and standard deviation also satisfied the requirements, less than $2^{\circ}C$ and $3^{\circ}C$. The final flight prediction was performed by using the correlated thermal model.
