A Study on Broadband Integrated Modem LAN Switching Technology of Environment Facility (환경 시설물의 광대역 통합모뎀 근거리 통신망 스위칭 기술 연구)

  • Recently, environment facilities are able to manage real-time data collection and record management through integrated broadband modem LAN switching technology. Therefore, it need more stable and efficient facility management. So, we required practical use of environmental facilities convergence based on broadband integrated modem. In this paper, we proposed an integrated broadband modem LAN switching technology which can applicable to the environment facility. Also, we presented integrated broadband modem of design plan and communication system. And it received data inside of environment facility using the two communication methods(IEEE802.11x and IEEE802.15.4x). Then, our proposed integrated broadband modem LAN switching technology will prioritize processing data when emergency happen through collecting data, analysis data and processing. Lastly, we proved usefulness by experiment and simulation analysis.

  • To expand the application area of global navigation satellite systems, precision landing is one of the most critical area to be solved. For the development and validation of the precision landing system, many aspects need to be analyzed including the system architecture, signal characteristics, atmospheric delay, communication delay, accuracy, integrity, and availability. Among them, the signal characteristics analysis requires the processing of measurements collected by real-flight experiments. This paper presents the processing results of the real measurements collected by a flight and landing experiment. To process and analyze the data, double differencing position-domain hatch filter is utilized. Accuracy of the proposed filter is evaluated utilizing reference trajectory generated by commercial software. Finally, by comparing with conventional range domain characteristics of position domain filter is analyzed.

Microwave Properties of Tunable Phase Shifter Using High Temperature Superconducting Thin Film (고온초전도 박막을 이용한 튜너블 이상기의 마이크로파 특성)

  • High temperature superconductor, $\YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) and ferroelectric, $\Ba_{0.1}Sr_{0.9}TiO_{3}$ (BST) multilayer thin films were deposited using on MgO(100) substrates pulsed laser deposition. The thin films exhibited only (001) peaks of YBCO and 1357 The HTS thin films demonstrated excellent zero resistance temperature of 92.5 K. We designed and fabricated HTS ferroelectric phase shifter using high frequency system simulator and standard photolithography method, respectively The HTS phase shifter shows a low insertion loss (2.97 dB) and large phase change ($\162^{circ}$) with 40 V do bias at 10 GHz. The HTS phase shifter shows 54 of figure of merit. These results can be applicable to phased anay antenna system for satellite communication services.

  • U-Eco City is promoted nation-wide by development of recent IT technology, method of effective countermeasure disasters, which real-time wire/wireless communication network, and 3D-Web GIS shall be connected that massive database, intelligent service be perceived. U&V-City is the four-dimensional future city that actualizes an intelligent daily ubiquitous computing service by embodying 3D-Virtual City, the reproduction of real world U-City while using Digital map, satellite image, VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language), which are presentation tool to describe city components and by efficiently catch and cope about nature and human disasters while employing EAI(External Authoring Interface) that provides HTML&JAVA, and interface for efficient removal/process of massive information/service and also by employing GPS/LBS/Navigation in support of the world-wide orientation concept, and RTLS(Real Time Location System).

Dual-Band Circle Microstrip Patch Antenna with Parasitic Patch (기생 패치 면을 갖는 이중 대 역 원형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나)

  • In this paper, we propose and fabricate the dual-band microstrip patch antenna with parasitic patch for S-DMB(Satellite-Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) and ITS (Intelligent Transport System) services. The measured - 10 dB bandwidth and the minimum return loss is 300 MHz and - 27 dB for S-DMB, 600 MHz and -17 dB for ITS, respectively. It is noticed that the measured and simulated results are agreed well. The S-DMB antenna has conical beam pattern in the vertical plane and has omni-directional beam pattern in the horizontal plane. The conical beam pattern has the maximum gain about 4.2 dBi when ${\theta}$ is $45^{\circ}$ at the center frequency of 2.6 GHz. The ITS antenna has directional beam pattern in the vertical plane that has maximum gain about 6.4 dBi when ${\theta}$ is $0^{\circ}$ at the center frequency of 5.8 GHz.

  • Recently, it is studied actively that DVB-S2 for mobility standard(DVB-S2M) is combined with DVB-H, DVB-T and conventional DVB-S2 standard for continuous satellite broadcasting and internet service. Especially, overcoming deep fading by tunnel is main subject. For overcoming deep fading, DVB-S2M proposed cross layer system is consist of upper layer and physical layer. Thus, this paper proposed optimal upper layer coding system fixing the physical layer coding under the simulation results by coding methods, train speed, data rate, interleaver size and IP packet size.

  • Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) operating in the military for various purposes are designed to transmit information collected according to the purpose to GCS(Ground Control System), and to transmit/receive the vehicle's operational control and status information using wireless communication(or datalink). Currently, the military UAV systems in operation in Korea use unique communication methods, protocols, and message structures for each system. Among these, the Division UAV is designed to transmit fixed size TM/TC data repeatedly and the Corps UAV is designed to transmit aperiodic TM/TC data to the variable length of the message-based. In this paper, we analyze the TM/TC data protocol of existing military UAV systems and present data protocol design method which is considered to be more efficient in wireless communication environment applied to equipment under development. And we will discuss issues to be considered for standardization of technology for ensuring interoperability with many UAVs or newly introduced UAV systems.

  • Alternative radio-navigation technologies aim at providing continuous navigation solution even if one cannot use GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System). In shadowing region such as indoor environment, GNSS signal is no longer available and the alternative navigation system should be used together with GNSS to provide seamless positioning. For soldiers in battlefield where GNSS signal is jammed or in street battle, the alternative navigation system should work without positioning infrastructure. Moreover, the radio-navigation system should have scalability as well as high accuracy performance. This paper presents a TWR (Two-Way-Ranging)-based cooperative positioning system (CPS) that does not require location infrastructure. It is assumed that some members of CPS can obtain GNSS-based position and they are called mobile anchors. Other members unable to receive GNSS signal compute their position using TWR measurements with mobile anchors and neighboring members. Error propagation in CPS is analytically studied in this paper. Error budget for TWR measurements is modeled first. Next, location error propagation in CPS is derived in terms of range errors. To represent the location error propagation in the CPS, Location Error Propagation Indicator (LEPI) is proposed in this paper. Simulation results show that location error of tags in CPS is mainly influenced by the number of hops from anchors to the tag to be positioned as well as the network geometry of CPS.

A THREE DIMENSIONAL LOCATION SYSTEM FOR HIKER WALKING SPEEDS BASED ON CONTOUR LINES

  • GPS is especially suitable for location systems in flat areas, but the availability of GPS is limited in highly urbanized and mountain areas, due to the nature of satellite communications. Dead reckoning is generally used to solve a location problem when a pedestrian is out of range of GPS coverage. To extend the apparent coverage of the GPS system for a hiker in mountain areas, we propose an integrated 3D location system that interpolates a 3D dead reckoning system based on information about contour lines. The speeds of hikers vary according to the inclination of the ground in sloped areas such as mountains. To reduce location measurement errors, we determine the angle of inclination based on the contour lines of the mountain, and use the speeds based on the inclination in the location system. The simulation results show that the proposed system is more accurate than the existing location system.

  • With the development of information and communication technology, the military's battle environment is changing greatly to network centric warfare in where weapon system is connected in a network and carries out mission by exchanging the real-time data. The core of the network centric warfare is Tactical Data Link(TDL) system, and subscribers of TDL exchange tactical information in real time through wireline, wireless and satellite network to share the battlefield situation. The amount of data sent and received through TDL inevitably increase as military's weapon systems equipped with TDL systems increase over time and the performance of communications equipment improves. This study proposes ways to improve the transmission speed and processing capacity of the TDL system by improving the Data Link Processor.
