지하매설 가스배관의 가스 누출시 지하 확산거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Diffusion Behavior of Leak Gas from Underground Gas Pipeline)

  • 지하에 매설된 도시가스 배관에서의 누출 가스에 대한 확산 거동을 관찰하기 위하여 지중 확산실험조를 제작하여 실험하였다. 실험조는 도시가스 공급위치와 농도의 측정위치를 변화시킬 수 있도록 acryl로 제작하였으며, MOS 센서를 이용하여 도시가스 농도를 측정하였다. 가스의 지하 확산을 측정하기 위한 토질로서 주문진 표준사와 화강풍화토를 이용하였으며, 가스누출 속도 변화에 따른 도시가스 농도 변화를 시간에 따라 측정하였다. 누출점으로부터 센서의 측정위치가 가까울수록 또는 누출 속도가 증가할수록 가스의 감지시간이 감소하였으며, 누출가스 농도의 빠른 증가로 인하여 정상상태시 높은 농도를 나타내었다. 또한, 주문진 표준사보다 다짐에 의해 밀도가 증가한 화강풍화토에서 초기에 농도가 낮게 측정되었으나, 시간이 지남에 따라 농도가 높게 나타났다.

쓰레기 매립지 내 폐기물 혼합지반 특성 연구 (A Study on Characteristics of Waste Mixed Soil in Landfill)

  • 본 연구는 쓰레기 매립장의 폐기물 혼합지반에 대한 특성을 연구하였다. 매립 현장에서 시료를 채취하여 물리적시험과 역학시험을 실시하여 지반공학적 특성을 분석하고 Rowe cell 시험과 CRS 시험을 통한 압밀분석을 하였다. 분석결과, 폐기물 혼합토는 통일분류법의 SW, SG으로 분류되었다. 전단강도의 경우, 전단변위가 증가할수록 전단응력이 증가하였으나 전단최대강도는 뚜렷하게 나타나지 않았다. 믹싱비율이 증가할수록 시료의 압축지수는 증가하였으며 이를 통해 침하가 예상된다. 폐기물 혼합토의 투수계수는 $1.6{\times}10^{-5}cm/sec$$1.8{\times}10^{-7}cm/sec$가 측정되었다.

Influence of spatial variability on unsaturated hydraulic properties

  • To investigate the effect of spatial variability on hydraulic properties of unsaturated soils, a numerical model is set up which can simulate seepage process in an unsaturated heterogeneous soil. The unsaturated heterogeneous soil is composed of matrix sand embedded with a small proportion of clay for simulating the heterogeneity. Soil-water characteristic curve and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity curve of the unsaturated soil are expressed by Van Genuchten model. Hydraulic parameters of the matrix sand are considered as random fields. Different autocorrelation lengths (ACLs) of hydraulic parameter of the matrix sand and different proportions of clay are assumed to investigate the influence of spatial variability on the equivalent hydraulic properties of the heterogeneous soil. Four model sizes are used in the numerical experiments to investigate the influence of scale effects and to determine the sizes of representative volume element (RVE) in the numerical simulations. Through a number of Monte Carlo simulations of unsaturated seepage analysis, the means and the coefficients of variations (COVs) of the equivalent hydraulic parameters of the heterogeneous soil are calculated. Simulations show that the ACL and model size has little influence on the means of the equivalent hydraulic parameters, but they have a large influence on the COVs of the equivalent hydraulic parameters. The size of an RVE is mainly affected by the ACL and the proportion of heterogeneity. The influence of spatial variability on the hydraulic parameters of the heterogeneous unsaturated soil can be used as a guidance for geotechnical reliability analysis and design related to unsaturated soils.

지오셀로 보강된 모래의 응력-변형 거동 (Stress-strain Behavior of Sand Reinforced with Geocell)

  • 본 연구에서는 삼축 조건하에서 지오셀-흙 복합체의 응력-변형 거동과 지오셀에 의한 강도증가를 고찰하였다. 연구를 위하여 직경 50mm, 높이 100mm인 시료 중앙에 직경 50mm, 높이는 각각 35, 50, 70mm인 연성의 모형셀을 넣고 3개의 밀도 변화에 따른 일련의 삼축시험을 수행하였다. 시험결과 지오셀의 구속은 모래의 등가점착력을 유발시키는 것으로 나타났으나 점착력은 지오셀 재료의 특성에 관계되는 것으로 나타났다. 기존의 지반보강재에 의한 강도증가가 등가점착력의 유발만 나타난 것과는 달리 본 연구에서 사용된 탄성의 고무지오셀 재료는 등가점착력의 유발뿐만 아니라 내부마찰각도 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 지오셀-모래 복합재의 강도를 쌍곡선 모델에 적용시킨 결과 지오셀 복합재료의 거동이 일반 흙과는 거동이 다르므로 적용된 설계하중 범위에서의 첨두강도 결정이 거동을 묘사하는데 중요한 것으로 인식되었다.

The Variation in the Species Composition of the Soil Seed Bank in the Natural Flood Plain Vegetation along the Urban Reach of Han River, South Korea

  • We described the above-ground plant species composition and measured a range of soil physico-chemical properties and the composition and size of the soil seed bank in the remnant natural vegetations on the flood plains of the Han River within Seoul, South Korea. We used analysis of variance and multivariate analyses to analyse the data and S${\o}$rensen's similarity index to compare the composition of the vegetation and seed banks. The soils were circum-neutral and composed of mainly sand and silt fractions with a very limited clay component; a gradient based on sand/clay proportions was identified. The soil seed banks varied markedly between- and within-sites and had much greater species diversity than the above-ground vegetation. Two of the major dominants in the vegetation (Miscanthus saccariflorus and Phragmites australis) were found at very low densities in the seed bank. The site differences appeared to be correlated with the sand-clay gradient, suggesting that the soil properties differentially affected seed inputs into the soil, or that the processes than controlled sediment deposition during floods was also important in differentially affecting seed deposition. Lastly, there was relatively little similarity between the vegetation, dominated mainly by perennials, and the seed bank which contained a relatively large proportion of annuals and biennials. This result suggests that after disturbance caused by flooding there is the potential for many other species to colonize. This may impinge on the regeneration potential of the sites and cause concern for the future conservation of these important remnants of natural vegetation.

천연잔디시공 학교운동장 토양중 벤조피렌 및 중금속 오염물질의 함량 - 전라북도 초등학교를 중심으로 - (Content of Benzo(a)pvrene and Heavy Metals and Physico-chemical Properties of Turfgrass Playground Soil in Elementary School of Jeollabuk-do)

  • A study was carried out on the physico-chemical properties of soil and content of heavy metals and benzo(a)pyrene that might have been introduced through by-product fertilizers or air pollution to growing turfgrass at natural turfgrass playgrounds in elementary schools located at the western coast and eastern mountain areas in Jeollabuk-do, Korea. The soil of turfgrass playgrounds is composed of loamy sand, and the CEC and organic matters were very low. Compared to agricultural land in Korea, the concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were very low, requiring control in terms of nutrients. The contents of total and fraction heavy metals in soil were found to be background level. The reason may lie in the fact that unpolluted sand soil or sand was used to construct the foundation for the natural grass playground in the first place. However, any change in oxidation-reduction conditions or acceleration of decomposition of organic compounds may release some heavy metals from the soil and be transformed into forms that may be easily absorbed by plants or grass. It is believed that sustained monitoring and environment impact assessments should be carried out. The contents of benzo(a)pyrene in soil showed an average 0.60ng/g with a range between 0.06 to 1.47ng/g. The detected contents were found as background level.

원료토의 특성에 따른 경량기포혼합토의 압축강도 영향인자 분석 (Analysis of Compressive Strength of Lightweight Air-mixed Soil According to the Properties of Soil)

  • 경량기포혼합토(LAS)의 일축압축강도($q_u$)와 변형계수($E_{50}$)에 영향을 미치는 인자를 분석하기위해 모래, 실트, 점토의 함유율이 서로 다른 건설발생토(원료토)를 이용하여 일축압축강도시험을 수행하였다. 일축압축강도시험 분석결과 동일 원료토에서 LAS의 목표단위중량(${\gamma}_m$) 및 시멘트 첨가량($C_i$)이 강도-변형특성의 지배인자로 분석되었으며, 서로 다른 원료토에서는 단위중량과 시멘트 첨가량이 동일할 경우 원료토의 입도분석시험(KS F2302)결과 산출된 모래, 실트, 점토의 상호비율과 강도-변형특성의 관계를 제시하였다. 양생일에 따른 LAS의 강도발현속도는 원료토내 점토의 함유율($C_%$)이 증가할수록 강도발현을(a)은 저하되는 것으로 나타났다.

답전윤환 인삼재배 예정지 토양의 물 이동특성 평가 (Assessment on Water Movement in Paddy-Upland Rotation Soil Scheduled for Ginseng Cultivation)

  • This study was conducted to assess water movement in paddy-upland rotation soil scheduled for ginseng cultivation through the measurement of infiltration and permeability of soil water. Soil sample was divided with four soil layers. The first soil layer (to 30cm from top soil) was loamy sand, the second and the third soil layers (30$\sim$70 ㎝) were sand, and the fourth (< 120 ㎝) was sandy loam. The soil below 130 ㎝ of fourth soil layer was submerged under water. The shear strength, which represents the resisting power of soil against external force, was 3.1 kPa in the first soil layer. This corresponded to 1/8 of those of another soil layer and this value could result in soil erosion by small amount of rainfall. The rates of infiltration and permeability depending on soil layers were 39.86 cm $hr^{-1}$ in top soil, 2.34 cm $hr^{-1}$ in 30$\sim$70 ㎝ soil layer, 5.23 cm $hr^{-1}$ and 0.18 cm $hr^{-1}$ in 70$\sim$120 ㎝ soil layer, with drain tile, and without drain tile, respectively. We consider that ground water pooled in paddy soil and artificial formation of soil layer could interrupt water canal within soil and affect negatively on water movement. Therefore, we suggest that to drain at 5 m intervals be preferable when it makes soil dressing or soil accumulation to cultivate ginseng in paddy-upland rotation soil to reduce failure risk of ginseng cultivation.

고추와 옥수수 실생의 생장에 미치는 균근의 효과 (Effect of Vesicular-Arbuscular Mycorrhizae on the Growth of Bell Pepper and Corn Seedlings)

  • Effects of mycorrhizal infection on the growth of bell pepper (Capsicum annuum) and corn (Zea mays) seedlings have been studied by comparing plants grown in sterilized soil/sand mixtures to plants grown in sterilized soil/sand mixtures with topping the original non-sterile field soil. The original nonsterile field soil, which were taken from the bell pepper field, contained a high level of endmycorrhizal spores. After seven weeks, the shoot height of inoculated plants was increased by 110% in bell pepper, and 90% in corn compared with the control plants. The average above-ground biomass of inoculated plant was increased by 88% in bell pepper and 71% in corn compared with the control plants. The shoot-root ratios in bell pepper and corn were 2.7 and 1.8 for the control plants, and 4.3 and 2.7 for the treatment plants, respectively. Phosphorus level in inoculated plant was higher than that of the control plant. However, nitrogen contents were similar between the control and the treatment plants. The control plants didi not form vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizae during the experimental period.

혼합대상 토질에 따른 지반개량재의 강도 변화에 관한 연구 (A study on the variety of strength about soft ground improvement material according to Mixed soil)

  • This study is an experiment paper about the ground improvement material which using the waste residual(slag and paper fly ash) by fire. we are research to concern according to the soil to mix the ground improvement material at show strength effectiveness. Also, we can expect a long time strength increase effectiveness as reduce the dryness contraction. They are distinguished to the clay of the reclamation ground and silty sand soil. We examined around an uniaxial compress test and scanning electron microscopy. The uniaxial stress increases according to the increase of the mixed ratio of ground improvement material and the water contents have been reduced the strength value. A clay's improvement effectiveness is big but in the silty sand soil to express small effectiveness. A ground improvement material mixing of the quantity to write can not expect the effect of Ettringite.
