Temperature was considered to estimate the minimum detectable absorption coefficient of aerosol particles from photothermal spectroscopy. Light energy absorbed by subsequent emission from the aerosol results in the heating of the aerosol sample and consequently causes a temperature change as well as changes in thermodynamic parameters of the sample. This thermal effect is the basis of photothermal spectroscopy. Photothermal spectroscopy has several types of techniques depending on how the photothermal effects are detected. Photothermal interferometry traces the photothermal effect, refractive index, using an interferometer. Photoacoustic spectroscopy detects the photothermal effect, sound wave, using a microphone. In this study, it is suggested that the detection limit for photothermal spectroscopy can be influenced by the introduction of a slip correction factor when the light absorption is determined in a high temperature environment. The minimum detectable absorption coefficient depends on the density, the specific heat and the temperature, which are thermodynamic properties. Without considering the slip correction, when the temperature of the environment is 400 K, the minimum detectable absorption coefficient for photothermal interferometry increases approximately 0.3% compared to the case of 300 K. The minimum detectable absorption coefficient for photoacoustic spectroscopy decreases only 0.2% compared to the case of 300 K. Photothermal interferometry differs only 0.5% point from photoacoustic spectroscopy. Thus, it is believed that photothermal interferometry is reliably comparable to photoacoustic spectroscopy under 400 K.

This study provides an understanding of the role of job satisfaction as a mediator of compensation and workplace environments for the organizational commitment of employees in the public sector. This study used a structural model using path analysis. The population and sample in this study were all employees at the Population and Civil Registry Office of one of the districts in Indonesia. The sampling technique used was total sampling, due to the considerably smaller amount of the sample size. This study found that compensation and workplace environment could explain job satisfaction variables with a 93.8% confidence level and simultaneously compensation, workplace environment, and job satisfaction that could explain organizational commitment with a variable of 97.4%. This findings also shows that the manifest bonus variable on the latent compensation variable is one of the main indicators that needs to improve to increase job satisfaction and organizational commitment. One of the important things which needs to be done is to increase compensation. The first thing which needs to be done is to increase the bonus. Furthermore, to improve the quality of the workplace environment, facilities, and infrastructure such as stable internet connections, computer specifications are the important criteria that must be met.
In analyzing heavy metals in soil samples, the standard protocol established by Korean Minstry of Environment (KSTM) requires two different pretreatments (A and B) based on soil particle size. Soil particles < 0.15 mm in diameter after sieving are directly processed into acid extraction (method A). However, if the quantity of soil particles < 0.15 mm are not enough, grinding of the particles within 0.15 mm ~ 2 mm is required (method B). Grinding is often needed for some field samples, especially for the soil samples retrieved from soil washing process that contain relatively large-sized soil grains. In this study, two soil samples with different particle size distribution were prepared and analyzed for heavy metals concentrations using two different pretreatment to investigate the effect of grinding. The results showed that heavy metal concentrations tend to increase with the increase of the fraction of small-sized particles. In comparison of the two pretreatments, pretreatment A yielded higher heavy metal concentration than pretreatment B, indicating significant influence of grinding on analytical results. This results suggest that the analytical values of heavy metals in soil samples obtained by KSTM should be taken with caution and carefully reviewed.

In order to investigate the analytical uncertainties associated with sampling and analysis of major greenhouse gaseous pollutants(carbon dioxide and methane), we attempted to quantify their adsorptive loss due to the contact with the container wall(such as Tedlar bag and vial). Using the GC/FID method, some basic experimental parameters(such as reproducibility and method detection limit) have been evaluated as part of the essential QA/QC The reproducibilities of carbon dioxide and methane were estimated as 2.02 and 0.2%, respectively. In addition, method detection limits were measured as 0.61 and 0.06 ng, respectively. A test of sample loss rate has also been made for Tedlar bag and vial by assessing the absolute amount of sample loss on the wall. By transferring the samples contained in Tedlar bag to various sizes of Tedlar bags, we measured differences in the absolute loss quantity due to such transfer. In addition, we also examined such loss mechanism as a function of elapsed time and light penetration rate for vial. As results, carbon dioxide and methane have shown about 2% of sample loss due to such contact. It is also noticed that the amount of loss with vial surface is lower than that of Tedlar bag. Therefore, field collection of greenhouse gases using various container types should be made more cautiously to minimize the possibility of sample loss and bias related to such loss.
An evaluation of the environments in the wandering pathway of the dementia units was carried out. It is revealed that the quality of the environment for the wandering pathway of the sample units was very low. In particular, lacks of social environments in Unit-B and Unit-C, and lacks of orientation aids in all the sample units were shown. Therefore, re-design for the wandering pathway of the sample units is needed. Recommendations for improving the wandering pathway and having appropriate wandering pathway without any abrupt change in existing layout of the sample units were suggested, and the limits of this research is diagnosed. It is also shown that since evaluation categories used in this paper had very closed relationship each other, those evaluation categories can be used in other settings.
The use of on-premises technology in the business environment to create a competitive advantage is ushering in a new era known as digital transformation. As the foundation of digital transformation of enterprises, information technology still has a paradoxical effect on enterprises. This paper documents the effect of investments in IT on a firm's long-term profitability performance measures as return on assets (ROA), as well as tests whether the earlier entrant and the later entrant are different in IT investment performance. Using a sample of China's public firms IT investment data between 2016 and 2019, the result indicates that IT investment in firms have a positive effect on firm performance in full sample, but not in the financial industry firms. When it comes to the different investment time, the result shows no significant difference between the earlier entrant firm and the later entrant firm in the full sample, but not in the case of software industry sample. This should help alleviate the concerns that some have expressed about the viability of digital transformation given the highly publicized IT investment and implementation problems at some firms.

This paper attempts to analyze the public's attitudes about the Saemangeum development project and its impact on marine environment with the data from a national survey of 1,000 households obtained by a professional survey firm with face-to-face interviews using two split samples: a sample of 400 households in on-site area (Saemangeum area) and a sample of 600 households in off-site area (the nation except for Saemanguem area). More specifically, ordered probit model is employed to investigating the factors affecting the public attitudes to the Saemanguem development project. The results show that over 70 percentage of respondents in both the samples opposed Saemanguem development project when they considered its economic gain and impacts on marine environment at the same time. Futhermore, over 90 percentage of respondents judged that environmental management of Saemanguem open sea is necessary. Therefore, making appropriate actions are required to manage marine environment of Saemanguem open sea.
Objectives: The standard method for the enumeration of environmental Legionella is culturing, which has several disadvantages, including long incubation and poor sensitivity. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the usefulness of real-time PCR and to improve the standard method. Methods: In 200 environmental water samples, a real-time PCR and culture were conducted to detect and quantify Legionella. Using with the results of the survey, we compared the real-time PCR with the culture. Results: Each real-time PCR assay had 100% specificity and excellent sensitivity (5 GU/reaction). In the culture, 36 samples were positive and 164 samples were negative. Based on the results of the culture, real-time PCR showed a high negative predictive value of 99%, 35 samples were true positive, 105 samples were true negative, 59 samples were false positive and one sample was a false negative. Quantitative analysis of the two methods indicated a weak linear correlation ($r^2=0.29$, $r^2=0.61$, respectively). Conclusions: Although it is difficult to directly apply quantitative analysis results of real-time PCR in the enumeration of environmental Legionella, it can be used as a complementary means of culturing to rapidly screen negative samples and to improve the accuracy of diagnosis.
We examine the effect of environment on star formation activity of a sample of galaxy group catalogue given in Tempel et al.(2012) constructed from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Data Release 8. In order to compare galaxies in different environment, we classify galaxies into two groups: galaxies in low density environment and galaxies in high density environment. After matching colors and apparent magnitudes of the galaxies, we are left with 5912 galaxies in each of the environment category. The fraction of star-forming galaxies in low-density environment is ~34%, higher than ~15% in high-density environment. Star-forming galaxies in low density environment have a higher average SFR value than those in high density environment. The bulge-to-disk ratio for galaxies in two different environment shows bimodal distribution. Regardless of the environment, we find galaxies with high star formation rate despite their red (g-r) color, for which the origin enhancing their star formation rate is investigated.
This study was concerned with the investigation of the relationship between the degree of family incongruence about family environment and the occurrence of juvenile delinquency using Family Environmental Scale (F.E.S) designed by Rudolf Moos. The study employed the control group design using the interview and questionnaire through home visiting. The control group sample consisted of 44 families from a middle socioeconomic S Dong community setting and the experimental group sample consisted of 30 families of juve nile from Juvenile Training School in Seoul, Total sample size was 321. Data for this study was collected over a period of three months from the end of Nov. 1982 to the beginning of Feb. 1983, after pretest. To analize the data, t-test was used. The result of this study was as follows; 1. The experimental groups' incongruence score was 18.8598 as compared to the control groups' score of 14.8598. The differences were statistically significant at .001 level, and the hygothesis was supported. 2. The experimental group had higher incongruence scores as compared to the control group of three dimensions, the differences were statistically significant at .05 level. The experimental group had higher incongruence scores than the control group on 6 subscales, namely, cohesion, expressiveness, conflict, achievement orientation, moral-religious emphasis and organization. The differences were statistically significant at. 05 level.
