Recently occupational safety and health literatures begin to emphasize the influence of social, organizational or psychological context. Based on this research trend, this paper tried to review the relationship between safety climates and safety compliance. Based on the responses from 385 manufacturing workers, this paper reviewed the relationships among safety climates, safety motivation, and safety compliance. The results of statistical analysis showed that all safety climate factors(management involvement, leadership, safety training, precaution activities, safety system) have affirmative effects on safety motivation and safety compliance. Also, safety motivation appeared to have mediating effects on the relationship between 5 safety climate factors and safety compliance. Especially it appeared to have full mediating effects on the relationship between safety training/ safety system and safety compliance.

Objective: The aim of this study is to identify the domestic and foreign laboratory safety management system and to suggest domestic laboratory safety management policy priority. Background: Various types of accidents are occurred in research laboratories according to a variety of laboratory safety risks. However, there are only lists of incidents without any precise accident analysis. Method: We analyzed statistically the survey on current status of laboratory safety management of universities, research institutes, and industrial research institutions carried out by Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning in Korea. We also investigated laboratory safety management systems and safety organization carried out mainly in overseas countries such as USA, Japan, Switzerland and France. In addition, we analyze the UCLA College laboratory explosion occurred in the US in 2010. Results: More than 75 percent of 2015 domestic laboratory accidents were occurred in the field of operation management and chemistry research. Also, approximately 55% of accidents took place due to careless use mechanical instruments & dangerous chemicals. In addition, common difficulties of lab safety act applicable organizations are overlapping and comprehensive application of legal requirements. Conclusion: There is a need for laboratory safety professional organizations. Also, the high frequency of use of hazardous substances in the high-risk, such as the chemical field must be strengthened the laboratory safety management. In addition, it is needed to minimize the problems of the research organizations through close cooperation between related ministries and government support policy such as professional development program. Application: The result of this analysis might help to present a differentiated safety management policy and advanced safety management system in laboratory.

The advent of private railroad corporations presented many problems on administration's effectiveness. These brought an effect on safety management too. Most public railroad corporations maintain their rolling stocks and facilities by their own workers. On the other hand, private railroad corporations depend on outsourcing to cut down the cost of maintenance. But they have similar safety management systems. Therefore we investigated the gap between the two types of corporations, focusing on workers' safety attitude and proposed solutions to improve safety management systems in private railroad corporations.

Depending on the progress of the industrial advances, the use of the thermal oil system in the utility system has been increased, which became an important part in the operation of the plant. However, fire or explosion have occurred due to lack of risk awareness and safety management, more frequently than we know. In this study, by using a questionnaire, actual conditions of safety management in thermal oil system is surveyed and analyzed, it is composed of general, a safety status of the thermal oil system component and the stage of recognition and management in the thermal oil system. These results of this study can be used as basic data to the safety management and the accident prevention of fire or explosion in the workplace.

Korea gas industrial because of received LNG in 1987 was converted by the Gas Safety Management System in relation to city gas, LPG and LNG. Gas accident were caused by treatment problem on the supplier and user, on technical and use management mater, on facilities and goods, and included problem with gas safety connection system. This study is present standard application plan of each department to use planning gas technical standard and gas utilization standard of introduction model than statute for change of self-regulation management system and complicated regulation of examination center and order.

Public institutions have a responsibility to ensure the safety of their employees and the public. One way to do this is to implement a systematic safety inspection system based on risk assessments and continuous improvements. This study developed a systematic safety inspection system for public institutions that are ordered construction projects. The proposed system in this study consists of a three-step process: (1) developing safety grade evaluation tables, (2) preparing and conducting safety inspections, and (3) evaluating and improving safety management grades. The first step is to develop safety grade evaluation tables by analysis and diagnosis of the construction site's work type, disaster statistics, and related laws. The second step is to conduct safety inspections using the developed evaluation tables. The third step is to determine the safety management grade based on the results of the safety inspection, and to improve risk factors found during the safety evaluation. The proposed system was implemented in highway construction projects carried out by public institutions. The results showed that the proposed system has two major effects: (1) reducing accident-related deaths and injuries, (2) improving safety management levels by continuous evaluation and improvement. The proposed system can be utilized in construction projects ordered by public institutions to improve the level of occupational safety and health.

For ensuing rolling stock safety, it is necessary that safety management should be made systematically through its whole life cycle. That is to say, safety management activities for every steps of rolling stock life cycle should be defined, and the roles of managers such as executor, assessor, and certificator should be shared clearly. This paper defines the safety management activities based on IEC 62278, analyzing foreign and domestic safety regulation systems, and suggests the reformed safety management system for rolling stock in Korea

A performance measurement system for safety management was suggested with which performance of a company's safety activities can be expressed rationally, and analysis of impact with performance improvement. A key of the measurement system is performance index of the safety management activities, which consists of 3 perspectives; an external perspective, an internal perspective, and a innovation & learning perspective. Every perspective consists of 18 performance indices and each indices consist of activity unit a such planning, support, implementation, evaluation and review.

There are much dangerous machine in worksite. These make the rate of accidents increase. Specially, among them, the Press work has the highest rate of accidents. Therefore, it has been managed by Industrial safety-health law. It is very important to make a special study of work using the dangerous machine. In press work, it is also important to develop safety system program to improve productivity and work safely, In this reaserch, the safety management system is built for the work improvement of the Press. The venture businesses deal with various kinds of hazard factors, that is, substances, processes and techniques, which have not been investigated. Nevertheless, the safety management systems of venture businesses are not systematic until now. And also it is very difficult to find out the cases of foreign advanced countries. In this study a questionnaire which investigate the present states of safety management system, have been excuted for 358 venture businesses. As a result, the present states of safety management system of venture business are assessmented, and the supporting direction of the safety management for venture business is proposed.
