  • This paper discusses frequency analysis based on frequency spectrum in orthogonal cutting of fiber-matrix composite materials. A glass reinforced polyester (GFRP) was used as workpiece. Analysis method employs a force sensor and the signals from the sensor are processed using a fast Fourier transform (FFT) technique. The experimental correlation between the different chip formation mechanisms and model coefficients are then established. (omitted)

유리섬유 보강 플라스틱관의 파괴 안전성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fracture Safety of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Pipes)

  • In this thesis, a series of loading tests are conducted in order to investigate the fracture safety as structural materials of GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics) which we wifely used in the developed countries becauses of their natural of anticorrosion and lightweight etc.. In the fracture test, the mid-span displacement, the strain and the yield load of the GFRP pipes are measured for different number of laminates, and fracture energy is estimated. From this study, it is known that GFRP pipe could be used as structural materials in underground buried pipes if their ductility and strength are increased by controlling number of laminates. Furthermore, because of their merit of lightweight, they can contribute greatly to reduction of construe-tlon cost when they are employed.

피로하중을 받는 유리섬유 보강 플라스틱관의 안전성에 관한 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Safety of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Pipes under Fatigue Load)

  • In this thesis, a series of loading tests are conducted in order to investigate the fracture safety of GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics) pipes under fatigue load which are widely used in the developed countries becauses of their natural of anticorrosion and lightweight etc. . Fatigue test is performed by changing number of laminates and loading cycles to examine the flexural strains, the ductility and the fatigue strength for two million repeated loading cycles. From the fatigue test results, it was found that the larger the laminates of GFRP pipes is, the larger the stiffness of GFRP pipes under the fatigue load increases. This phenomenon is true until the fatigue failure. According to the S-N curve drawn by the regression analysis on the fatigue test results, the fatigue strength of percent of the static ultimate strength increases by increasing the laminates of GFRP pipes. The fatigue strength with two million repeated leading cycles in GFRP pipes with the laminates of GFRP pipes varing 15, 25, 35 shows about 75%, 80%, 84% on the static ultimate strength, respectively.

투명 방탄소재용 보로실리케이트 유리의 이온교환 강화 (Strengthening of Borosilicate Glass by Ion Exchange for Lightweight Transparent Bulletproof Windows Materials)

  • Transparent bulletproof windows play an important role in the munitions industry. The thickness of bulletproof windows including soda-lime silicate(SLS) glass, polyvinyl butyral, poly urethane, main defense(200MD), and safety film was reduced from 40mm to 29mm by adjustment of SLS glass laminated array. Borosilicate glasses generally have lower surface density and more excellent mechanical properties than SLS glass. Borosilicate glass was strengthened by ion exchange in the $KNO_3$ powder. The maximum mechanical properties were observed at $550^{\circ}C$ for 10min. The Vickers hardness, fracture toughness and 3-point bending strength of ion exchanged samples were about $775kg/mm^2$, $1.91MPa{\cdot}m^{1/2}$ and 764MPa each, which are about 27%, 149% and 249% higher than parent borosilicate glass, respectively. The penetration depth of K+ ion at $550^{\circ}C$ for 10min was $59.8{\mu}m$. As a result, the transparent bulletproof windows were predicted to be more lightweight by ion exchange of borosilicate glass. If the SLS glass for bulletproof windows is replaced by ion exchanged borosilicate glass, the bulletproof windows can be expected to be lightweight and thinner.

  • With glass becoming a structural material there is a whole new approach for loading and ensuring the safety of construction. Due to its brittle nature, it is necessary to predict all possible problems so that structural integrity would not be endangered. In this paper, different approaches to modelling the glass elements are presented with references to the advantages, disadvantages, and application of each of them. The intention is clear, there is a need to improve and simplify the design guidelines. Given the increasing use of glass in construction it is not practical to produce experimental tests each time when the verification is needed. Today, architecture is bringing us different types of structures and every project presents a new challenge for engineers. A practical and simple approach is crucial for progress and efficiency. In this paper, different approaches to modelling glass are presented with an emphasis on soft body impact.

  • 본 연구에서는 복합소재인 GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester)의 2차원 절삭공정에서 주파수 스팩트럼과 절삭 메커니즘과의 연관성에 관하여 논의한다. 해석방법으로는, 공정중 발생하는 절삭력 신호를 FFT에 의해 주파수 분석하고 주파수 스팩트럼과 다양한 칩형성 메커니즘과의 연관관계를 모델링한다. 특히, 섬유경사각(Fiber orientation angle), 절삭변수 그리고 공구형상이 절삭 메커니즘에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다.

밀폐된 구획의 창유리 파단시 화재 특성에 관한 수치적 연구 (A Numerical Study of Fire Dynamics of The Enclosed Compartment with Window Glass Breaking)

  • 최근에 소방안천과 관련된 화재 현상의 수치해석 연구률 위한 컴퓨터의 이용이 크게 중가하고 있는 실정이다. 밀폐된 구획의 창유리(3mm, 4mm 두쩨) 파단시 화재의 동륙성을 초사하기 위하여 zone형 컴퓨터 수치해석 프로그햄인 FASTLite(version 1.1.2)와 창유리 파단 시간 계산 프로그랩인 BREAKl(ver¬S sion 1.0)을 사용하여 foam sofa 화재에 대한 모의 실험융 하였다. 본 연구률 흉하여 개방- 혹온 멀쩨-상태의 구획 화재의 동륙성과 밀떼된 구획의 창유리 파단시 화재 동특성 사이에 큰 차이가 있옴을 확인하였다. 또 4mm 두째 유리의 경우 벼쟁상 연소로 인해 발생 . 축객된 미연소 가연성 가스에 의해 backdraft 현상이 발생합융 볼 수 있었고, 않run와 4mm 두께의 유리 내 . 외면에 온도차가 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 소방대원의 화재진압 혹은 피난을 위한 소방천술과 소방안전 공학도의 구획 화재 관련 컴퓨터 수치 혜석 프로그램의 운영 기법을 향상시키는데 큰 도용이 되리라 생각된다.

  • Self diagnosis monitoring system is defined as concrete structural carbon and glass hybrid fiber materials, in response to the change in external disturbance and environments, toward structural safety and serviceability as well as the extension of structural service life. In this study, carbon and glass hybrid fiber materials were investigated fundamentally for the applicability of self diagnosis in smart concrete structural system as embedded functions of sensors.

2차원 GFRC절삭에서 AR모델링에 관한 연구 (Autoregressive Modeling in Orthogonal Cutting of Glass Fiber Reinforced Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 복합소재인 GFRP(Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester)의 2차원 절삭공정에서 절삭 메커니즘과 소재의 신뢰도 및 안전성과 밀접한 관련이 있는 표면정도를 중심으로 한 공정의 특성화를 시도하고, 주파수 분석에 관하여도 논의한다. 구체적으로는, 공정중 발생하는 절삭력 신호를 AR(Autoregressive) 모델링하여 해석에 사용한다. 특히, 특징추출과정을 통해 AR계수로 이루어진 패턴벡터 중 다양한 절삭 메카니즘에 민감한 계수만 선택할 수 있다. 이들 계수와 절삭 메커니즘과의 실험적 관계를 설정함으로써 섬유경사각(Fiber orientation angle), 절삭 변수 그리고 공구형상이 절삭 메커니즘에 미치는 영향을 평가하였다.
