PURPOSES : The goal of this study is to analyze the operational effects of special roundabouts at large-scale rotaries in Korea. In pursuing the above, this study gives particular attention to comparing standard roundabouts with special roundabouts. METHODS : This study reviews the various types of roundabouts, creates 270 scenarios, builds networks, and comparatively analyzes the operational effects by using VISSIM simulation model and SSAM(Surrogate Safety Assessment Model). RESULTS : First, the operational effects of standard and signalized roundabouts were analyzed, and it was determined that standard roundabouts are the best in the case of under-saturated traffic volume, and signalized roundabouts are the best in the case of over-saturated traffic volume. Second, the operational benefits of a Turbo roundabout were evaluated to be generally lower than the benefits of a standard roundabout, and the benefits of a Turbo roundabout increase when right-turn traffic volume increases. Finally, the safety conflicts of a Turbo roundabout were determined to be the least and decrease when right-turn traffic volume increases. CONCLUSIONS : This study suggests that Turbo roundabouts rank highest for safety, and signalized roundabouts are best for over-saturated traffic volume. This study can be expected to provide some implications for policy decision-making.

Red ginseng oil (RGO), rather than the conventional aqueous extract of red ginseng, has been receiving much attention due to accumulating evidence of its functional and pharmacological potential. In this review, we describe the key extraction technologies, chemical composition, potential health benefits, and safety of RGO. This review emphasizes the proposed molecular mechanisms by which RGO is involved in various bioactivities. RGO is mainly produced using organic solvents or supercritical fluid extraction, with the choice of method greatly affecting the yield and quality of the end products. RGO contains a high unsaturated fatty acid levels along with considerable amounts of lipophilic components such as phytosterols, tocopherols, and polyacetylenes. The beneficial health properties of RGO include cellular defense, antioxidation, anti-inflammation, anti-apoptosis, chemoprevention, hair growth promotion, and skin health improvement. We propose several molecular mechanisms and signaling pathways that underlie the bioactivity of RGO. In addition, RGO is regarded as safe and nontoxic. Further studies on RGO must focus on a deeper understanding of the underlying molecular mechanisms, composition-functionality relationship, and verification of the bioactivities of RGO in clinical models. This review may provide useful information in the development of RGO-based products in nutraceuticals, functional foods, and functional cosmetics.

Inventory information system is providing the benefits of smoother demand, lower inventories(work in process, safety stock) and reduced costs. This study focused on improvement of safety level inventory efficiency by inventory information system. The results indicated that inventory information system allowed the company to serve its customers more surely and efficiently.

Recently, fisheries safety has been a matter of primary concern among consumers and suppliers. This phenomenon made them require the introduction of fisheries traceability systems. For traceability systems to be effective, automatic identification means play an important role. Therefore, RFID-based fisheries traceability systems are more required than barcode-based fisheries traceability systems. Unlikely EU and Japan, Korea did not accept mandatory traceability regulations. But Many countries began to accept mandatory traceability regulations to diminish food risks. So Korea is expected to adopt them in the near future. The purpose of this study is to find what benefits are generated from the adoption of RFID-based fisheries traceability systems and are related to their success. To do these, this study investigated primary benefits of RFID-based fisheries traceability systems from the perspectives of consumers and suppliers. Consumers' benefits were derived from the perceived risk dimensions. And suppliers' benefits were derived from operational benefits of RFID systems. To purify the benefits from RFID-based fisheries traceability systems, reliability and factor analysis were used. And the refined benefits of RFID-based fisheries traceability systems were additionally analyzed to find which benefits were significantly related to fisheries traceability systems' success. According to the analysis results, all risk dimensions except social risk were significantly related to their success. But in the benefits of suppliers, only "recalls and counterfeits" factor was significantly related to their success. These results implied that fisheries traceability systems should be based RFID technology instead of barcode and fisheries traceability systems were related to almost food risk dimensions. It's because these significant factors are related all food risks except social risk and the benefits of suppliers can be derived from only RFID technology.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the internet perceived risk segments in regard to clothing benefits sought, internet shopping attitude, and internet purchase intention. The subjects used for the study were 210 male and 338 female college students. The internet perceived risk consisted of size/defect risk, social psychological risk, privacy risk, delivery risk, and price risk. The clothing benefits sought had impression improvement, fashion, individuality, figure flaws compensation, and comfort factors. The results showed that consumers were segmented by four groups based on internet perceived risk factors : 1) privacy risk group, 2) size risk group. 3) low risk group, and 4) price/social psychological risk group. The four segmented groups differed in regard to clothing benefits sought, internet shopping attitude, and internet purchase intention. For example, in regard to clothing benefits sought, the price/social Psychological risk group sought fashion more than other groups. The low risk group considered figure flaws compensation benefit less important than other groups. Concerning internet shopping attitude, the low risk group had more favorable altitude toward trust, safety, diversity, exchange/return attributes of internet shopping than other groups. The privacy risk group had more favorable attitude toward convenience and price attributes of internet shopping. Regarding internet purchase intention, the low risk group had higher intention to purchase formal, casual, and sportswear. The size risk group had higher intention to purchase fashion accessories. Further group differences and implications of the results were discussed.

Green Construction is the construction activities that conserved energy, land, water and material to reduce the negative effect to the environment while assuring essential demand on quality and safety during project construction. This paper critically examine the contribution of awareness and understanding, green construction practices and green construction innovation with the green construction benefits. A measurement model based on the theoretical framework and exploratory factor analysis was developed and tested using structural equation modelling technique. This study employs a survey research methodology involving a total of 346 respondents among construction contractors, developers, clients and consultants in the construction industry. The findings indicate that the awareness and understanding, green construction practices and green construction innovation are significant predictors of the green construction benefits. From the practical perspective, the findings should alert the construction participants on the need of awareness and understanding, green construction practices and green construction innovation towards the green construction benefits. In addition, the findings can be used as diagnostic tool for continuous improvements in the Malaysian construction industry.

건설공사 발주자에게 건설현장 근로자에 대한 안전보건관리 책무를 부여하는 안전보건대장 제도가 「산업안전보건법」 전부개정에 포함되어 도입되었다. 안전보건대장 제도에 대한 낮은 인식과 이행률로 발생되는 제도의 실효성 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 경제성 측면에서 제도의 효과성을 설명할 필요가 있으므로 본 연구에서는 안전보건대장 도입 당시 논의되었던 자료를 근거로 비용편익분석을 활용하여 안전보건제도 이행의 경제적 효과를 분석하였다. 안전보건대장 제도 이행에 있어 추가적인 비용이 발생하는 것은 설계안전보건대장의 작성 및 관리로 분석되었다. 작성비용과 산업재해 감소로 발생되는 직·간접적 편익을 비교한 결과 편익이 비용보다 높게 평가되었으므로 안전보건대장 제도는 건설공사 재해 감소와 경제적 효과를 발생시키는 것으로 판단된다.

Cloud computing is one of the most expanding technologies nowadays; it offers many benefits that make it more cost-effective and more reliable in the business. This paper highlights the various benefits of cloud computing and discusses different cryptography algorithms being used to secure communications in cloud computing environments. Moreover, this thesis aims to propose some improvements to enhance the security and safety of cloud computing technologies.
