Tip clearance of centrifugal compressor affects the performance. Larger tip clearance results in lower efficiency. What really affects the performance is the running tip clearance, not the cold tip clearance. When the compressor is operating, blade strain and the pressure difference between impeller backplate and hub affects the running tip clearance. This paper describes measured running tip clearance and its effects on the performance of centrifugal compressor. Cold tip clearance before operation was 0.4 mm and running tip clearance varied from 0.86 mm to 0.25 mm with impeller exit pressure. As the pressure at impeller exit increases, the running tip clearance tends to decreases. The target running tip clearance for Compressor at $100\%$ speed was 0.3 mm, and it turned out to be exactly 0.30 mm from experiment.

A suspension is a core part, determining running stability and riding quality of vehicles and its stiffness is essential parameters in the process of vehicle designing. Suspension stiffness shall be adjusted to meet requirements of running stability and curve running performance, as adding stiffness to primary suspension for running stability in high-speed running results running performance degradation in curved track. The purpose of the report lies in utilization of usable data for optimization of suspension via analyzing running performance through changing stiffness of railway vehicle suspension.
In this study, we have analyzed the running performance of Mugungwha coach in curves to grasp the problems relating to this coach's curving performance and present improvement plans. Simulations and tests to analyze curving performances are carried out, and through this Process we could prepare a plan to improve the running performance in operation.
For the safety of railway, it should be evaluated for the running safety by measuring the derailment coefficient. Although railway has run the fixed and maintained rail, some of railway is derailed. This report shows the results that performed the static load test, wheelset manufacturing for test, main line running test on the basis of the derailment theory and experience. It is executed main line test into more than 80km/h for estimating the curving performance and running safety of Gwangju EMU. As the test results, could confirm the curving performance and running safety of Gwangju EMU from the results of the wheel unloading, lateral force, derailment coefficient etc. Derailment coefficient was less than 0.8, and lateral force allowance limit and wheel load reduction ratio were enough safe.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of visual feedback bicycle training on running performance, maximal oxygen uptake and quadriceps muscle strength. Design: A randomized controlled trial. Methods: Fifteen healthy adult men with no musculoskeletal or nervous system disease and capable of bicycle training were included. After the pretest, subjects were randomly assigned to visual feedback bicycle training group and general fixed bicycle training group. Both groups were trained two times a week for three weeks, each week for a fixed time and number of repetitions, followed by a six week washout period and then crossing the training method. visual feedback bicycle training provides visual feedback of heart rate in real time using a monitor and a heart rate meter during bicycle training, and general fixed bicycle training performed general bicycle training without visual feedback. After training, each item was measured using a wearable technology, gas analyzer, isokinetic equipment. Results: The results of this study was significant differences in running performance, maximal oxygen uptake and quadriceps muscle strength in visual feedback bicycle training group (p<0.05). The differential effect was found between visual feedback bicycle training group and general fixed bicycle training group in running performance, maximal oxygen uptake, and quadriceps muscle strength (p<0.05). Conclusions: This study suggested that that visual feedback bicycle training can be applied as a useful training method to improve running performance, maximal oxygen uptake and quadriceps muscle strength.
Republic of korea has begun operating high speed train service according as KTX service operation starts in 2004. Also, EMU whose maximum speed is over 150 kph will be starting to service with electrification and improvement of existing railroad. Moreover, metropolitan electric railways have begun an express service to increase scheduled speed. Therefore, running resistance of rolling stock becomes more important factor effects on the performance. Running resistance of rolling stock is the factor which is necessary for the performance or operation plan of rolling stock, and it's related to rolling friction, slip friction, drag force, gradient, acceleration, curvature, tunnel condition and so on. It is possible to be calculated by CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics). However it is predicted by experimental equation from running resistance test because of the complex calculation and manifold variables. In this paper, studies about running resistance of rolling stock is introduced, and each term of experimental equation is studied through theoretical approximation. Also, running resistance of rolling stock is estimated by the result of running resistance test, and effects being related to friction, drag force, gradient is examined.
The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze whether or not, if a community social service center was affiliated with a governing body running other community social service centers, the center would have better organizational performance in comparing to an independently running center. Data was collected from a nationwide mailed and self-administered survey, which 237 centers out of 343 community social service centers responded. Even if, the response rate was 72%, 218 centers were finally analyzed due to the weakness of reliability and incompleteness. By the way, measurement of organizational performance as the dependent variable has been substituted of the results of nationwide organizational evaluation project as the secondary data. One of findings is that 68% of 218 responding centers appeared to be affiliated with a governing body which running more than three other centers, while 41% being affiliated with a body which running more than five other centers. However, a logistic regression analysis which using organizational performance as the dependent variable, has failed to verify the hypothesis that a center which affiliated with a governing body running other centers has better organizational performance when comparing to an independent center. The researcher assumes that a part of governing bodies has better performance and improves competitiveness while the other larger part of them pursues simple organizational growth. Thus, this situation made that the overall evaluation of being affiliated with a large governing body was not positive.
In this work, the characteristics and the improving method of train performance of Korean rubber-tired AGT system(K-AGT) and Urban MAGLEV system are evaluated by using Train Performance Simulation(TPS). The train performance characteristics of K-AGT were analysed according to the change of maximum running speed and those of Urban MAGLEV were evaluated according to a vehicle weight variation. In the result of simulation in virtual line, the scheduled speed and the running time of K-AGT system have no difference with Urban MAGLEV system if the maximum running speed is equal. But the energy consumption of Urban MAGLEV system is more than that of K-AGT system. The analyses showed that in case of a 20 percent vehicle weight reduction of Urban MAGLEV system, the energy consumption per person is similar with the K-AGT system. The Urban MAGLEV system is more efficient in long travel distance condition than in short running distance condition in the aspect of train performance.
This Paper describes the evaluation methods and criteria used to verify running Performance of railway vehicle, and shows results of vehicle dynamics simulation and running performance tests for New Mugunghwa Coaches that were designed and manufactured by DHI in 1997. Through running performance test of New Mugunghwa Coaches, Vibration, Ride Comfort were measured on the condition of service operation. As a results, each simulation and test results meet the criteria proposed by Korean National Railroad(KNR) and Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI).
