  • The present study examined the role of dialogue journaling in Korean students' English writing development. Thirteen Korean middle school students participated in a five-week dialogue journal writing program. The participants' English writing skills before and after their dialogue journaling were compared in terms of holistic and analytical scores of their English essays. The study also examined the changes in the participants' language use, as manifested in their dialogue journals. The results indicated the positive influence of dialogue journal writing on the participants' English writing skills in the areas of content and lexical fluency. As for the linguistic evidence that related dialogue journaling to English writing development, the three patterns of change in language use emerged from the participants' dialogue journals: a) raised awareness on grammar conventions, b) raised awareness on discourse conventions, and c) increased depth and richness in idea development. There were also three unhelpful factors associated with little improvement of English writing: a) lack in basic writing skills, b) repetitive use of identical sentence patterns, and c) lack in grammatical and lexical awareness. Overall, the results suggested that dialogue journaling could facilitate Korean students' English writing development when it creates authentic communicative interactions between the teacher and students.

  • For the last two decades, there has been much research on computer abuse from the perspective of the general deterrence theory based on objectism, which covers security policy, security awareness programs, and physical security system. The traditional view offered by the general deterrence theory indicates that security policy, security awareness, and security system play a major role in preventing computer abuse. In spite of continuous organizational efforts and investments based on these systematic factors, the incidence of computer abuse in organizations is still rapidly increasing. This paper proposes another perspective-the social control theory based on subjectism-in preventing computer abuse. Therefore, this research holds the purpose of grasping structural influencing relationship of environmental awareness of cook, which is taking an important role in food safety among workers in hotel restaurants with eco-friendly attitude and food safety pursuit behavior. To achieve the purpose, collected materials were tested for the fidelity, organic causation and control effect, using Structural Equation Modeling for frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, credibility analysis and hypothesis testing with SPSS (V23.0) and AMOS (V21.0) programs. Environmental awareness of hotel cook has causation with eco-friendly attitude, and the attitude has meaningful causation with food safety pursuit behavior. That is, it proved that cooks are taking care of their job carefully from the pre-cooking stage while most of people ignore the storing stage. • Background: Nurses play an important role in preventive medicine because they represent the largest sector of health professionals. This role is very crucial in developing countries, which are going through rapid societal and economic changes, associated with a rising burden of cancers due to different risk factors. The current study aimed to compare health awareness between nurses and healthy women regarding preventive gynecological examinations and to answer the question - can nurses make a difference in women's health? Materials and Methods: This cross sectional research included a total of 150 women, 70 nurses and 80 healthy women, randomly selected. Data were collected in 2014 in Vlora city through a self-administered questionnaire that assessed different variables about preventive gynecological examinations. Results: Cervical screening rates were 20.3% and 41.8%, respectively, for nurses and healthy women, despite the former having a statistical significant greater knowledge of risk factors and symptoms. Conclusions: Even if the health awareness of nurse participants can be considered good, they need themselves to increase participation rates in cervical screening if they are to provide role models for health education/promotion addressing misconceptions and barriers.

  • Purpose: This study aimsto assert trust as an important mediator in the service business. The research topic relatesto service businesses that have low exposure to comparative information and weak consumer positions in terms of law, such as the beauty clinic businesses in Indonesia. Research design, data, and methodology: This study uses explanatory and purposive sampling. A survey was conducted among 268 Indonesians, collected by distribution via Google Forms. The hypotheses were tested using AMOS software. Results: The results indicate that trust did not have a significant role in mediating brand awareness, service quality, and price perception on revisit intention, but only mediated satisfaction. Furthermore, this study discloses the neutralization attitude and dissonance behavior represented by trust mediation. Conclusions: These findings attempt to expand the literature on the role of trust in the service business. However, the beauty clinic businessin Indonesia infers misbehavior. Misbehavior is caused by vulnerable conditionsin which consumers are unable to share their experiences with other consumers. The reason is that the defamation law in Indonesia is often implemented in the wrong direction. This must be corrected so that consumers obtain their rights and create a mutually beneficial relationship between beauty businesses and consumers.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the role of life stress in the relation between health behaviors and bioethics awareness among paramedic students. Methods: This study recruited 238 paramedic students in F and R areas as participants. Multiple regression analysis was performed using Baron and Kenny's three-step procedure. Results: In the first stage, health behaviors had a significant effect on life stress (β=-.202, p<.01). In the second stage, health behaviors had a significant effect on bioethics awareness (β=.240, p<.001). In the third stage, life stress had a significant influence on bioethics awareness (β=-.167, p<.01). In the fourth stage, the regression coefficient of the third stage (β=.137) was less than that of the second stage (β=.159). In addition, when controlling for life stress, health behavior was shown to affect bioethics awareness (β=.206, p<.01). The mediating effect of life stress was found to be significant in the relation between health behavior and bioethics awareness (Z=2.04, p<.05). Conclusion: As health behavior is a factor that affects bioethics awareness through the mediation of living stress, universities should prepare training programs to improve the health behavior and reduce the life stress among students.
