FISS Observation of Bright Rims of Solar Filaments

  • Rims of solar filaments often appear brighter than the background chromosphere, but their physical nature is still poorly known. Last year, we observed a filament with a bright rim. The rim was bright in H alpha but not in Ca II 8542 line. Using the cloud model, we inferred physical parameters of the region from the spectral profiles. As a result, we found that the Doppler width of the H alpha line is very large, which implies temperature as high as 50000K. In addition, the value of the source function of the H alpha line is 0.7 times the continuum intensity of background profile. These results suggest that the bright rims might be a region of intense heating, probably associated with a current sheet. To further investigate this possibility, we carried out more observations this summer. We will present new results obtained from the analysis of these observations and discuss the physical implication of these measurements on the nature of bright rims and the filaments.

태백산(太白山) 광화대(鑛化帶) 중부지역(中部地域) 페그마타이트에 대한 지화학적(地化學的) 연구(硏究) (Geochemical Study on Pegmatites in Central Region of Taebaek Mineralized Area)

  • This study has been carried out on the Pegmatites, Naedeogri Granites, Nonggeori Granites and Metasedimentary rocks in the middle area of Taebaeksan region to investigate the geochemical properties and possibility of productivity. Pegmatites are characterized by metamorphosed anatectic pegmatite and differentiated magmatic pegmatite, and are mixed type of rare-element pegmatite and mica-bearing pegmatite by the classification of Ginsburg(1979). The petrological type of the igneous rocks is thought to be calcalkali, subalkaline and peralumious. According to chemical variations against D. I., differentiation trends from Naedeogri and Nonggeori Granites through non-mineralized pegmatites to mineralized pegmatites are supposed. From the relationship between oxided and $SiO_2$, pegmatites and Nonggeori Granite have shown similar tendencies and bulk composition of pegmatites and similar to metasedimentary rocks near the intrusives. By judging the correlations of trace elements, it is elucidated that pegmatites adjacent to Naedeogri and Nonggeori Granites have been originated in magma differentiation from these granites and the others have been differentiated by remelting or partial melting from metasedimentary rocks. $Sp_5$, $Sp_8$, and $Sp_9$ pegmatites are considered as productive rocks, and $Sp_4$, $Sp_6$, $Sp_7$, $Sp_{10}$, $Sp_{11}$, and $Sp_{12}$ pegmatites and granites are supposed to have a weak productivity, in terms of element ratios related with Sn mineralizations. Tourmalines in productive pegmatites are formed under the circumstance of Li-poor granitoids and associated with pegmatites, and the others are seemed to be originated in metapelites and metapsammites which are not coexisting with an Al-saturating phase. Three types of chemical zoning are noticed in tourmalines: (1) apparently homogeneous compositional patterns, (2) a continuous core-to-rim zoning and, (3) a discontinuous core-to-rim zoning. From results of EPMA of tourmalines, Al, Mg and Ca increase closer to rim, while Fe decreases.

중국 보하이만 컨테이너 항만의 진화에 관한 연구 (The evolution of container port group in Bohai Rim of China)

  • 1978년 중국의 경제개혁 이후, 국제무역은 빠른 속도로 증가되었고, 항만산업은 성장을 가능하게 하는 중요한 요소로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구는 보하이만의 최대 항만인 청도, 대련, 천진항 대상으로 분석을 시행한다. CR 분석, 허핀달-허쉬만 분석, 지니계수, 로렌츠 커브 및 전이분석을 이용하여, 2004-2016년도 항만의 집중도를 분석한다. 연구결과, CR 지수는 작은 변동을 보이면서 감소하며, 허핀달-허쉬만 지수는 분산화 경향을 나타냈다. 2004-2016 기간 동안 전이분석 결과, 청도항은 -1.371인 반면, 천진과 대련항은 각각 0.118, 1.252을 나타냈다. 또한 천진항 및 대련항의 성장이 보하이만 분산화 경향을 주도하였다. 연구결과는 해당지역의 항만개발에 관여하는 의사결정자 및 학계에 필요한 시사점을 제공한다. 향후연구에서는 중국 동북지역 관문에 위치한 최대항만이라는 지리적 이점을 고려하여 근처 중소형 항만과의 협력방안을 탐색할 필요가 있다.

차륜에 대한 열손상 평가 (Evaluation of Thermal Dmage for Railway Weel)

  • The thermo-mechanical interaction between brake block and wheel tread during braking has been found to cause thermal crack on the wheel tread. Due to thermal expansion of the rim material, the thermal cracks will protrude from the wheel tread and be more exposed to wear during the wheel/block contact than the rest of the tread surface. The wheel rim is in residual compression stress when is new. After service running, the region in the tread has reversed to tension. This condition can lead to the formation and growth of thermal cracks in the rim which can ultimately lead to premature failure of wheel. In the present paper, the thermal cracks of railway wheel, one of severe damages on the wheel tread, were evaluated to understand the safety of railway wheel in running condition. The residual stresses for damaged wheel which are applied to tread brake are investigated. Mainly X-ray diffusion method is used. Under the condition of concurrent loading of continuous rolling contact with rails and cyclic frictional heat from brake blocks, the reduction of residual stress is found to correlate well with the thermal crack initiation.

전국단위 재해위험도에 기초한 급경사지 재해의 단위권역 구분 (Division of Small Unit Based on a Nationwide Disaster Vulnerability Map)

  • This study made a nationwide metropolitan region map on the basis of disaster vulnerability and administrative boundary, and based on it, it divided small-sized regions and constructed disaster history of each region. For the disaster vulnerability, the study wrote slope, aspect, curvature, wetness index, and drainage density, compared and analyzed regions with disaster and geomorphic elements to distinct the factor with high correlations, and based on it, it divided small-sized regions for forecasting and warning system of middle regions(Gangwon province, Chungchung province, and Jeolla province). Through the method, Gangwon region were divided into 4 small-sized regions, Chungchung into 5 small-sized regions, and Jeolla into 6 small-sized regions.

  • Major companies in USA, Europe and Japan as well as even China and Russia put more overseas investment in Asian regions than before, while northeast Asian regional trade gets more attractive and important under the influence of China's super-speed economic growth. Possibly, it is expected that such ever-increasing gravity of regional trade will help spotlight the importance of local trade route considerably. In particular, northeast Asian region's economic briskness and step-up in international economic partnerships will expectedly contribute to much boosting up the quantity of goods transported via local coasting route. Thus, it is advisable that both Busan New port specialize in dealing with freights via East Sea rim, while Gwangyang port specialize in dealing with freights via Yellow Sea rim. Furthermore, it is required that both ports share some of their own roles as hub port and hub & spoke port respectively, so that both of them can be devoted to stepping up into northeast Asian hub ports.

궤도차량용 휠의 내구성 예측을 위한 유한요소 해석 기법 연구 (Finite Element Analysis for the Prediction of Durability of Idler Wheel of Tracked Vehicle)

  • The idler wheel installed at the front side of the newly developed tracked vehicle didn't meet the durability requirement by showing the crack failure near the jointed region at the wheel during the field test. To find the crack developing mechanism we constructed finite element model for the idler wheel representing the behavior of interface between each suspension units, material properties from the material test data and actual loading conditions. This paper shows a result that maximum von Mises stress near the bolt hole on the outer rim is higher than inner idler coressponding to the actual test result and that result was reversed by adopting the reinforcement outside of the outer rim.

  • The present study describes the experimental method to measure the strain of tire. In this study. the strain distributions of tire with air pressure and vertical load were measured at the bead filler edge region and on the carcass cord using strain gauges and the results were compared with indoor bead durability test results. The strain amplitude of carcass cord near the rim check line of tire is one of the main factors that affects bead durability characteristic.

Definitions of groove and hollowness of the infraorbital region and clinical treatment using soft-tissue filler

  • Clarification is needed regarding the definitions and classification of groove and hollowness of the infraorbital region depending on the cause, anatomical characteristics, and appearance. Grooves in the infraorbital region can be classified as nasojugal grooves (or folds), tear trough deformities, and palpebromalar grooves; these can be differentiated based on anatomical characteristics. They are caused by the herniation of intraorbital fat, atrophy of the skin and subcutaneous fat, contraction of the orbital part of the orbicularis oculi muscle or squinting, and malar bone resorption. Safe and successful treatment requires an optimal choice of filler and treatment method. The choice between a cannula and needle depends on various factors; a needle is better for injections into a subdermal area in a relatively safe plane, while a cannula is recommended for avoiding vascular compromise when injecting filler into a deep fat layer and releasing fibrotic ligamentous structures. The injection of a soft-tissue filler into the subcutaneous fat tissue is recommended for treating mild indentations around the orbital rim and nasojugal region. Reducing the tethering effect of ligamentous structures by undermining using a cannula prior to the filler injection is recommended for treating relatively deep and fine indentations. The treatment of mild prolapse of the intraorbital septal fat or broad flattening of the infraorbital region can be improved by restoring the volume deficiency using a relatively firm filler.

암반정보관리시스템(RIMS)의 개발 및 DB 현황 (Development of RIMS and Present Conditions of its DB)

  • 건설공사를 위한 수많은 지반조사가 수행되었음에도 불구하고 대부분의 조사자료가 관리체계의 부재로 인하여 해당 건설 활동에 한해서만 제한적으로 사용되었을 뿐, 미래의 건설활동을 위한 자료로는 거의 활용되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 암석 및 암반 조사 자료를 중심으로 효과적이고 체계적인 관리를 위한 DB 관리 시스템인 암반정보관리시스템(Rockmass Information Management System, RIMS)의 개발에 초점을 두었다. RIMS는 입 력, 수정, 검색과 같은 기본적인 기능 뿐만 아니라 데이터의 기본적인 분석과 자료의 결과를 확인하기 위한 분석모듈(동적 데이터 조회, 조회 조건 생성 및 연산, Plotting 및 자료추출)을 갖고 있다. 더욱이 RIMS는 수평위치를 나타내는 x, y 좌표와 수직위치를 나타내는 심도가 어울려서 층서, 실내시험자료 및 현장시험자료를 구축하는 3차원적 자료축적구조를 갖고 있다. 또한, 본 연구에서는 RIMS에 입력된 자료들을 지역별, 암종별 등으로 구분하여 DB 현황분석을 실시하였다.
