An Authentication Protocol Design in RFID System for Mobility (유동성을 지닌 RFID 시스템을 위한 인증 프로토콜 설계)

  • RFID is method used on wireless system. However, this mechanism is not used for authentication and security. Therefore, it is very vulnerable to attacks such as dropping attacks and traffic attacks. the RFID Tags are of the limited nature due to environment factors and there is greater constraints in designing authentication protocol. If we do not RFID to secure corporate information and product all the information will be exposed. The attacker will break into the RFID system and stop the distribution system. So, this paper proposes a new authentication protocol which provides not only unlimited access to Tag and Reader of mobile and connection between Tag and Reader bet also provides authentication mechanism by defining the key distribution.

Bar-Code Shape UHF RFID Tag Antenna (바코드 모양의 UHF RFID 태그 안테나 설계)

  • A bar-code shape UHF RFID tag antenna is designed and fabricated with silver conductive ink. It can be recognize by both bar-code scanner and RFID reader. The bar-code shape is taken from a general box of a product, and the product code of the bar-code is used for the antenna design. The tag antenna is fabricated with silver conductive ink using a T-matching structure. The designed tag antenna is satisfied with bar-code system and RFID system simultaneously. The input reflection coefficient characteristics and the reading range pattern are measured. The peak reading range is about 111 cm, which is long enough.

Conductive Fabric UHF RFID Tag Antenna Design (전도성 천을 이용한 UHF RFID 태그 안테나 설계)

  • This paper presents the design of a 920 MHz ultra-high frequency(UHF) band radio frequency identification(RFID) conductive fabric tag antenna. The resistance values of four different conductive fabrics are measured, and the conductivities of the fabrics are calculated. The fabric with the best conductivity is selected, and the best conductivity of the fabric is used to simulate the fabric tag antenna design. The fabric UHF RFID tag antenna with a T-Matching structure and name-tag size of $80{\times}40mm$ is simulated and designed. The simulated and measured results are compared, and a laundry test is performed. The reading range of the fabric tag antenna is about 2 m. This fabric tag can be easily applied to an entrance control system as it can be attached to other fabrics and cloths.

Distance Sensing of an RFID Tag Using RFID Reader Frequency Control (RFID 리더의 주파수 조정을 통한 태그 위치 센싱)

  • UHF and microwave RFID systems are widely applied in various fields because they can read a plurality of tag information within a radius of several meters ahead of the RFID reader. However, they cannot detect the position of the tag in applications that recognize only a tag at a specific position. In this study, we propose a new RFID system that can interrogate the tag of a specific location selectively by using the position information of the tag. This can be done by only adjusting the reader's operating frequency. To verify the feasibility of the proposed system, we implemented a 2.4 GHz RFID reader whose frequency can be varied by using a phase-locked loop circuit and a backscattered tag. Experimental results confirm that the tag position can be sensed exactly.

A Study on Detecting System of Illegal Automobile Using a Seal-Bolt UHF RFID Tag Antenna (봉인볼트용 UHF RFID Tag Antenna를 이용한 차량인식에 관한 연구)

  • This paper introduce UHF miniaturized RFID tag antenna which is embedded on the seal-bolt or plastic bolt for automobile plate. To detect the illegal and un-registered car, the illegal automobile detection system has been developed using the seal-bolt UHF RIF tag antenna. The diameter of seal-bolt UHF tag is about 24mm, almost the same size as 100 Won coin. The simulated and measured reflection coefficient are compared, and the reading range patten is also measured. If seal-bolt tag is embedded on car plate, police can get information of automobile and detect illegal vehicles easily with the illegal automobile detection system.

  • RFID, Radio Frequency Identification, is a technology of automated identification replacing bar-code. RFID technology has advantages that it recognizes fast and it is strong to contamination using wireless communication. However, there are difficult problems that should be solved for popularization of RFID. Among of these, tag anti-collision problem is dealed in this paper. It affected the performance of RFID system directly. This paper analyzes conventional algorithms and proposes new algorithms of tag anti-collision. The algorithm proposed was composed of appropriate properties to each phase of distribution and recognition as hybrid between ALOHA-based algorithm and QT-based algorithm. At phase of distribution, the number of tags recognizing at a frame was reduced using ALOHA-based algorithm. It addressed the delay problem because of deep depth of tree. At phase of recognition, it solved ALOHA-based chronic problem that couldn't recognize all the tags sometimes. Moreover, QTR algorithm that recognize by reversed tag IDs was adopted for the performance. The FQTR algorithm proposed in this paper showed brilliant performance as compared with convention algorithms by simulation.

  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a next generation technology that will replace barcode. RFID can identify an object by reading ID inside a RFID tag using radio frequency. However, because a RFID tag replies its unique ID to the request of any reader through wireless communication, it is vulnerable to attacks on security or privacy through wiretapping or an illegal reader's request. The RFID authentication protocol has been studied actively in order to solve security and privacy problems, and is used also in tag search. Recently, as the number of tags is increasing in RFTD systems and the cost of data collection is also rising, the importance of effective tag search is increasing. This study proposed an efficient search method that solved through ta9 group the problem of large volume of database computation in Miyako Ohkubo's hash chain mechanism, which meets requirements for security and privacy protection. When we searched first the group of tags with access rate of 5 or higher in a database with 100,000 records, search time decreased by around 30%.

  • In this paper, we design and develop a personalized advertisement and information services system based on mobile RFID using RFID virtual tag. It is a system to perform the use of the contents information or the commercial transaction on the contents products through internet server connection by using RFID tag information with a mobile according as transmitting immediately to a cell phone after a tag generator derived RFID tag information to be substituted for the contents information being output at present, after being transmitted from a cell phone the information request signal on the contents information being output from video media. This service system provides a mechanism for gathering advertisement information left behind by many clients visiting advertisement sites for analysis of customers property, service model for selecting personalized services, and mechanism for providing them to customers who visited in a advertisement mall joined to the shopping site.

  • RFID/USN은 여러 산업분야 및 실생활에 많은 활용이 기대되는 분야이다. 그 중 RFID는 교통카드 및 자산관리, 물류관리, 출입통제 등 여러 분야에서 적용되고 있다. 최근 군부대에서까지 RFID 시스템을 활용한 'u국방' 체제 확립에도 그 적용이 확산되고 있다. 그러나 RFID 시스템의 경우, Tag의 규격 및 프로토콜에 따라 Reader의 전반적인 사양이 달라지는 문제가 발생하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제에 착안하여 ATmel사의 읽기/쓰기가 가능한 IDIC인 T5557을 활용하여 RFID 시스템을 구현하고, 임의로 설정한 Tag ID 정보를 이용하여 터미널 프로그램을 통해 수신 가능함을 보였다.

Tag Identification Scheme based on Multi-Reader for Reducing Tag Authentication Time (태그 인증 시간 단축을 위한 다중 리더 기반의 태그 인식 기법)

  • The use of RFID is recently increasing for the realization of Ubiquitous computing. Reducing the process time of tag recognition is crucial as RFID system has to recognize multiple objects in a short amount of time. In this manuscript, therefore, an effective scheme using multi-reader is suggested to improve processing speed for tag authentication in RFID system. According to the result of performance analysis, the processing time required for tag authentication was drastically reduced in multi-reader environment than it was in a single reader. Consequently, the use of the suggested scheme cuts down on the processing time while identifying tags by using multi-reader and bring about overall performnce improvement of RFID system.
