We have observed 360 cases of spontaneous pneumothorax from Jan. 1971 to Dec. 1981 at the department of Thoracic and Card iovascular Surgery, Yonsei University College of Medicine. The patients age ranged from 2 days to 95 year-old. The associated pulmonary lesions were shown pulmonary tuberculosis in 158 cases[43.9%], bullae in 35, pulmonary emphysema In 32, pneumothorax in 10, paragonimiasis In 7 and unknown underlying pathology in 109 patients. 70 [51.1 %] out of 1 37 cases who received conservative medical treatment Including thoracentesis were cured completely, but the 67 cases [48.9 %] of remaining uncured patients were treated by surgical procedures. The 290 patients who received surgical management were recovered without recurrent pneumothorax. The surgical procedures were closed thoracotomy drainage or explothoracotomy. The choice of treatment should be based on the extent of pneumothorax or the presence of underlying pulmonary disease. Tube thoracotomywas the most effective procedure in achieving the expansion of collapsed lung. On the other hand, open thoracotomy could be a good approach to recurrent pneumothorax, persistent air leakage, incomplete expansion of the lung and bilateral pneumothorax. The minithoracotomy Is the best procedure to recurrent pneumothorax.

Several reports have described the increased perioperative risks as well as surgical techniques for performing various procedures in obese patients. However, few reports have addressed the effects of obesity on routine arthroscopic procedures known to be common and safe. Describing the case of a partial meniscectomy performed in a 17-year-old male with a body weight of 120 kg, we review literatures published to the present and provide technical problems and possible complications that can occur when performing routine knee arthroscopy in bariatric patients.

Behaviour management and dental procedures performed in very young, pre-cooperative, highly anxious, or medically disabled children are challenging tasks. Various drugs and methods have, however, been introduced to facilitate treatment for this patient population. Midazolam is a benzodiazepine used as an adjunct to behavior management techniques in the dental treatment of pediatric patients. Midazolam can be used as a safe and effective drug for conscious sedation, general anesthetic premedication, and treatment of seizures during dental procedures. Nevertheless, further research involving pediatric patients would be beneficial.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the customs clearance and arbitration systems of Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand, from among ASEAN countries, and to present the practical implications. This paper analyzes the customs and arbitration systems through a literature review by collecting data from papers, research reports, and laws and regulations related to Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand. There are significant differences between these countries in relation to customs and payment of customs duties. Also, they have different procedures for the appointment of arbitrators if there is no agreement by the parties as to the number of arbitrators. Therefore, a comparison of the arbitration system and customs clearance procedures in ASEAN countries is timely and necessary, and there is a need for more research to be conducted in the future.

China had revised Foreign Trade Law in order to fulfill its WTO commitments and duties, and fully exercise its rights and benefits as a WTO member. The main contents of the revised Foreign Trade Law as followed. For the first time, individuals are allowed to conduct foreign trade. Intellectual property is an important component of foreign trade, and protecting intellectual property rights is a key issue. A chapter on Intellectual property protection is one of the major additions to the Foreign Trade Law. New sections have also been added to allow and provide guidance for conducting investigations and seeking relief. Finally, the new law beefs up and clarifies enforcement procedures. It regulates the setting up of early warning and emergency systems and a foreign trade statistics system.

The purpose of this is to analyze environment of foreign direct investment and Act in Korea and to find invitation and extension of foreign direct investment into Korea. Investment incentives, simplification of investment procedures, image improvement, increased public relations and investment support services are all factors which can be enhanced in the short term to positively influence investors decision-making in where to invest. Since the enactment of the Foreign Investment Promotion Act in November of 1998, there has been a signification improvement in Korea's investment environment in terms of policies and systems. It is expected that the foreign direct investment environment in Korea will continue to improve through the improvement in political stability, labor-management relations and easing of political tensions between the North and South, in the long term, as well as through improvements in investment incentives, investment procedures and public relations activities, in the short term.

In order to establish the procedures for investigating environmental influences to wooden cultural property, existing study data were surveyed and necessary steps for performing the investigation works were presented to be applied for the future works in this country. Environmental factors which influence to the conservation of wooden cultural property should first be studied for items concerned with their damage situations. On basis of these data, laboratory works to yield the standard value for each factor should be conducted by means of testing samples exposed under laboratory simulated environmental conditions. Outdoor measurements may be followed for samples exposed to the open air at the site of that property. These data may be compared with those of laboratory standard value and overall evaluation for the factor influencing mostly tn the damage status of that property may further be conducted. Referring data obtained in this investigation, necessary measures to be taken for conserving that property may be able to be established.

Total ankle replacement has been performed for treatment of end stage arthritis of the ankle, hopefully being an alternative to ankle arthrodesis. However, due to its high failure rates, earlier versions of ankle replacements were not regarded as successful procedures. The latest design has shown increasingly positive results. Total joint replacement of the ankle itself is still regarded as a demanding procedure and much more challenging than that of the hip and knee in many aspects. Several studies, however, have pointed out that it is becoming the viable, accepted alternative for arthrodesis with advanced implants, appropriate patient selection, and proper training experience of procedures. Compared with arthrodesis, it shows equal or better outcomes in pain relief, range of motion, and patient's satisfaction. We are attempting to review its biomechanical characteristics, implant design, indications, complications, clinical outcomes, and survival rate.

But, our domestic middle and small food industries, it is relatively weak in this are. Thus this research would like to present a easily usable product safety procedures.

The purpose of the establishment of corporation's Business Continuity Plan(BCP) is to maintain corporations' own business and establish the response plan in order to resume operation in a short time period when crisis situations occur due to natural disaster and human error. This study has presented all types of procedures and criteria which are needed to establish the airport crisis response system in order to maintain the business continuity by utilizing BCP technique. Basically the risk response procedures must be established in the process of (1) preparation stage, (2) plan development stage, (3) documentation stage, (4) test & maintenance stage. The guideline has been suggested that each stage must be carried out in the sequence of Policy & Planning Responsibility, Business Impact Analysis, Recovery Strategy & Plans, Emergency Plan & SOP, Training Awareness and Maintenance & Review
