In this paper, the method to incorporate TCVQ(Trellis Copded Vector Quantizer) into the encoding of the wavelet trans formed(WT) image followed by a variable length coding(VLC) or an entropy coding(EC) is considered. By WT, an original image is separated into 10 bands with various resolutions and directional components. TCVQ used to compress these WT coefficients is a finite state machine that encodes the input source on the basis of the current input and the current state. Wavelet basis used in this paper is designed by orthogonal spline function. A modified set partitioning algorithm to Wang's is also presented. A simple modification to Wang's algorithm gives a highly time-efficient result. Proposed WT-TCVQ encoder shows a very competitive result, giving 37.46dB in PSNR at 1.002bpp when encoding 512$\times$512 LENA.
In this paper, modal control with direct output feedback is formulated in a systematic manner for easy implementation. Its application to the seismic protection of structural systems is verified by a shaking table test, which involves a full-scale building model and an active bracing system as the control device. Two modal control cases, namely, one full-state feedback and one direct output feedback control were tested and compared. The experimental result shows that in mitigating the seismic response of building structures, modal control with direct output feedback can be as effective and efficient as that with full-state feedback control. For practical concerns, the control performance of the proposed method in the presence of sensor noise and stiffness modeling error was also investigated. The numerical result shows that although the control force may be increased, the maximum floor displacements of the controlled structure are very insensitive to sensor noise and modeling error.

By using an adaptive algorithm, together with an additional dynamic system, this paper proposes a new approach to design of a state observer for a class of uncertain systems. We enlarge the class of linear systems from the canonical form of [1] by proposing an adaptive observer that allows unknown parameters to affect those unmeasured states. The result is based on a recent result which presents a design algorithm for an additional system to replace output derivative measurements with the additional dynamics. A numerical example illustrates the design procedure of the state observer.

We coupled fluid balance equation and director balance equation from Ericksen-Leslie's continuum theory and observed the motion of Twisted Nematic (TN) Liquid Crystals. We simulated flow velocity distribution and director distribution. We interpreted the dynamic response characteristic caused by the flow. As the result of the simulation, We could see the flow effect. And this flow caused abnormal twist to 4msec in switching off state. We could prove that this abnormal twist is a direct cause of optical bounce phenomenon known well until now with the result of simulation.
This paper uses counterexamples for solving reachability games. An objective. of the game we consider here is to find out a minimal path from an initial state to the goal state. We represent initial states and game rules as finite state model and the goal state as temporal logic formula. Then, model checking is used to determine whether the model satisfies the formula. In case the model does not satisfy the formula, model checking generates a counterexample that shows how to reach the goal state from an initial state. In this way, we solve many of small-sized Push Push games. However, we cannot handle larger-sized games due to the state explosion problem. To mitigate the problem, abstraction is used to reduce the state space to be che cked. As a result, unsolved games are solved with the abstraction technique we propose inthis paper.
Objective: The dynamics of morbidity, disability and death rates due to malignant neoplasms in the population in Uralsk city of the Republic of Kazakhstan were studied for 2011-2015, with a focus on age and sex, as well as tumor location. Methods: Statistics for total morbidity, primary disability and mortality from cancer in the adult population of the city of Uralsk for 2011-2015 were calculated per 100 thousand. Estimation of morbidity was based on data from form - $N{\underline{o}}12$${\ll}$Report on the number of diseases registered in patients living in the area of health care organizations and patient population under medical observation". Evaluation of primary disability was based on form $N{\underline{o}}7$${\ll}$The distribution of newly recognized disabled by disease class, age, sex and disability groups" for 2011-2015 in Ural city and analysis of cancer was carried out using annual form 7 "Report on the sick, and diseases of malignant neoplasms". Result: The most common localizations of cancer were the trachea, bronchi, lungs, stomach and mammary glands. High death rates were noted for patients with cancer of the trachea, bronchi, lung, as compared to stomach and esophagus. Conclusion: The results of our investigation and data in the literature indicate that regional characteristics influence the impact of risk factors associated with cancer. An unfavorable environmental background contributes to ill health of urban populations, contributing to development of cancer. Moreover behavioral risk factors are very important, such as smoking, alcohol drinking, and an unhealthy diet. All these factors require urgent adoption of a package of measures for prevention, early detection and timely treatment. Detailed study of cancer is necessary to develop national programs and activities for prevention and control.
This study investigated the effects of solid-state fermentation of a compound pig feed on its microbial and nutritional characteristics as well as on pig performance and nutrient digestibility. A mixed culture containing Lactobacillus fermentum, Saccharomyces cerevisae and Bacillus subtilis was used for solid-state fermentation and solid-state fermented feed samples were collected on days 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 and 30 for microbial counts and chemical analysis. Lactic acid bacteria increased rapidly during the first three days of fermentation and then slowly declined until day 10 and, thereafter, the counts were maintained at about 6.7 log cfu/g for the duration of the fermentation period. Enterobacteria also increased during the first two days, and then fell below the detectable level of the analysis (3.0 log cfu/g). The pH of the fermentation substrate declined from 6.1 at the start of fermentation to 5.7 by day 30. The water-soluble protein content increased from 8.2 to 9.2% while the concentration of acetic acid increased from 16.6 to 51.3 mmol/kg over the 30-day fermentation. At the end of the 30-day fermentation, the solid-state fermented feed was used in a pig feeding trial to determine its effects on performance and nutrient digestibility in growing-finishing pigs. Twenty crossbred barrows ($14.11{\pm}0.77kg\;BW$) were allotted into two dietary treatments, which comprised a regular dry diet containing antibiotics and a solid-state fermented feed based diet, free of antibiotics. There was no difference due to diet on pig performance or nutrient digestibility. In conclusion, solid-state fermentation resulted in high counts of lactic acid bacteria and low counts of enterobacteria in the substrate. Moreover, feeding a diet containing solid-state fermented feed, free of antibiotics, can result in similar performance and nutrient digestibility in growing-finishing pigs to a regular diet with antibiotics.
Today, everybody lives in the stress. So 50% to 80% or 60% to 80% of the modern diseases are estimated what is caused by the stress. And one of the most important point of the stress is a too serious and continuos tension state. Therefore the best way to promotion, persistence, prevention and treatment of the modern man's health will be the relaxion from the tension state. The relax therapy as known as am effective method to the disease which as concerned with stress. that can be adapted to the treatment of anxiety-related diseases, insomnia, hypertension, tension headache, migraine, asthma, preparation of delivery, G-I disorders and menstrual disorders. Until now we guess the change of a relaxed state by the observation to the change of autonomic nervous system(ANS) and EEG. From the point of the ANS, sympathetic nervous system progresses slowly but parasympathetic nervous system increases the activity. In the EEG, both the alpha-wave concerned with the deep physical relaxed state and emotional stability and the theta-wave appeared in the state of meditation are increased. Current studies show that among the biochemical changes, especially serotinin like body hormone is increased by the feeling of the stability or the happiness. So, to see the change of the relaxed state in the image of the D.I.T.I., we used the deviational differences between the pre-relaxed state and the post-relaxed state of 70 people. As a result, the portional deviation of the face is decreased in the image of the D.I.T.I. So it can be thaught that we can determine the changes of the relaxed state by the D.I.T.I.

To develop coal gasfication system, many studies have been actively conducted to describe the simulation of steady state. Now, it is necessary to study the gasification system not only in steady state but also in dynamic state to elucidate abnormal condition such as start-up, shut-down, disturbance, and develop control logic. In this study, a model was proposed with process simulation in dynamic state being conducted using a chemical process simulation tool, where a heat and mass transfer model in the gasifier is incorporated, The proposed model was verified by comparison of the results of the simulation with those available from NETL (National Energy Technology Laboratory) report under steady state condition. The simulation results were that the coal gas efficiency was 80.7%, gas thermal efficiency was 95.4%, which indicated the error was under 1 %. Also, the compositions of syngas were similar to those of the NETL report. Controlled variables of the proposed model was verified by increasing oxygen flow rate to gasifier in order to validate the dynamic state of the system. As a result, trends of major process variables were resonable when oxygen flow rate increased by 5% from the steady state value. Coal flow rate to gasifier and quench gas flow rate were increased, and flow rate of liquid slag was also increased. The proposed model in this study is able to be used for the prediction of gasification of various coals and dynamic analysis of coal gasification.
In this paper, remote sensing is used to estimate trophic state which is primary concern in a lake. In using remote sensing, this study estimated trophic state not with conventional method such as regression equations but with classification methods. As europhication is caused by the extraodinary proliferation of the algae, chlorophyll a and transparency are applied to remote sensing data.. Maximum Likelihood Classification and Minimum Distance Classification which are kinds of classification methods enabled trophic state to be confirmed in a lake. These are obtained as the result of applying remote sensing to classify trophic state in a lake. Firest, when we evaluate tropic state in a large area of water body, the application of remote sensing data can obtain more than 70% accuracies just in using basic classification methods. Second, in the aspect of classification, the accuracy of Minimum Distance Classification is usually better than that of Maximum Likelihood Classification. This result is caused that samples have normal distribution, but their numbers are a few to apply statistical method. Therefore, classification method is required such as artificial neural networks which are not influenced by statistical distribution. Third, this study enables the trophic state of water body to be analyzed and evaluated rapidly, periodically and visibly. Also, this study is good for forming proper countermeasure accompanying with trophic state progress extent in a lake and is useful for basic-data.
