  • A new quasi-parallel resonant DC link inverter is proposed for three phase soft switching application. By i inserting only one additional switch, the proposed inverter excludes both voltage stresses and restricted PWM p problems, which are demerits of the conventional resonant inverter. In this paper, the circuit operations are e explained in detail using the operational mode analysis of the proposed inverter and design methods of the r resonant components are suggest('x:l. Lastly, the applicable possibility of the proposed inverter is vel예fied t through the experimental results.

  • In this paper, a new planar transformer with a novel core configuration that can regulate the leakage inductance is proposed and described in detail. In order to design the slim size power system for flat panel TV, Two planar transformers applied to LLC resonant converter are connected in series at primary and in parallel by the center-tap winding at secondary. In this paper, a 300W low profile LLC resonant converter was built and tested to verify the proposed planar transformer.

  • This study deals with a resonant converter of an anti-start air conditioner compressor for commercial vehicles. The anti-start air conditioner compressor must generally have a high current, high efficiency, a low volume, and a low weight. To reduce the switching losses and voltage and current stresses of the device, the anti-start air conditioner compressor applies the full-bridge L-C resonant converter topology. Hardware parameters are designed to have a wide voltage range, and the switching frequency range of the L-C resonant converter is determined. Simulation is implemented using PSIM and an experiment is performed to verify the proposed converter.

  • Usually, in many applications. high frequency resonant inverters are used and the ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) or ZCS(Zero Current Switching) techniques are used to improve the efficiency of resonant inverters. In this paper, a new switching scheme is proposed to improve the efficiency of resonant inverters which is based on the plan to keep the unity output displacement factor under the variable resonant frequency. The detail algorithm of the proposed switching sheme and the simulation results are presented.

  • There are no turn-on losses in the series Resonant Converter which operates above the resonance frequency, and the commutation stress on the switched component is low. For a given Series Resonant Converter with specified load resistance, the output voltage is a function of the operation frequency. This paper describes the static and dynamic characteristic analysis of the Series Resonant DC to DC Converter, which is operating above the resonant frequency, with frequency control. For the analysis method, state plane technique is adopted, and the circuit operation is defined from normalized switching frequency, Fsn. Under this condition, circuit performance is analyzed ideally. The validity of the proposed analysis is verified by comparing with experimental results, the stability of the converter is confirmed against small variations around the operating point by conventional frequency domain analysis, and the stress quantity added to switch component is shown.

  • A novel three-phase quasi-resonant dc link inverter (QRI)with a switch connected between dc voltage source and resonant inductor is proposed. According to the state of switching and load current, the operating mode of the proposed inverter scheme is classified into free-wheeling, inverting, and rectifying mode. By examining the behavior of the circuit in each operating mode, an equivalent circuit which represents all the modes in a unified manner is derived. The operating principle of QRI at inverting mode is analyzed, and it is shown that the maximum voltage of resonant dc link is confined to twice the dc source voltage and that both the zero voltage switching of inverter and the zero current switching of inserted switch are guaranteed. An appropriate current control algorithm is suggested, and the opeating characteristics of proposed resonant inverter are verified through both simulation and experiment.

  • A new partial resonant three phase boost converter with high power factor and high efficiency is proposed. The proposed boost converter is constructed by using a resonant network in parallel with the swithch of the conventional boost converter. The devices are switched at zero voltage or zero current eliminating the switching loss. A new auxiliary partial resonant boost converter achieves zero-voltage switching(ZVS) or zero-current switching(ZCS) for all switch devices without increasing their voltage and current stresses.

  • One of the most critical part for magnetron driving in microwave oven is start-up control. For this, switching frequency of resonant inverter should be carefully controlled in order to supply sufficient power to the filament of the magnetron and to prevent rectifier diode from destruction caused by the excessive voltage across them. This paper proposes a novel start-up control strategy for LLC resonant inverter for microwave oven considering the non-oscillation mode time and the magnetron voltage during the start-up process. The validity of the proposed method is verified through the experiment with 1,200W microwave oven using LLC resonant inverter.

  • Temperature stabilities of dielectric constraints and resonant frequencies of the substrates are very important in piezoelectric ceramics oscillators and filters. In this study, it was investigated temperature stability of the length-extensional vibration mode of Pb(Zr$\_$y/Ti$\_$1-y/)O$_3$+x[wt%]Cr$_2$O$_3$ ceramics. The mode can be utilized in fabricating ultra-small 455 kHz IF devices. Addition of Cr$_2$O$_3$ in morphotrophic phase PZT decreased the variations of dielectric constant, electro-mechanical coupling factor k$\_$31/ and resonant frequency by thermal shock. As additive weight of Cr$_2$O$_3$increased, the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency changed from positive number to negative one. And the composition tith temperature coefficient of resonant frequency was shifted to the one with increased Cr$_2$O$_3$ additive weigh by thermal aging.

Estimation of modal correlation coefficients from background and resonant responses

  • A new simple relation for the estimation of modal correlation coefficients is presented. It is obtained from the decomposition of covariances of modal responses into background and resonant contributions, as it is commonly done for the variances. Thanks to appropriate assumptions, the modal correlation coefficients are estimated as weighted sums of two limit values, corresponding to the background and resonant responses respectively. The weighting coefficients are expressed as functions of the background-to-resonant ratios, which makes the proposed formulation convenient and easily accessible. The simplicity of the mathematical formulation facilitates the physical interpretation. It is for example proved that modal correlation coefficients can be non negligable even in case of well separated natural frequencies, which is sometimes unclear in the litterature. The new relation is mainly efficient in case of large finite element models. It is applied and validated on a finite element buffeting analysis of the Viaduct of Millau, the highest bridge deck ever built so far.
