영상의 손실 정보를 이용하는 영상 해상도 개선 (Image Resolution Improvement Using Image Loss Information)

  • 영상 해상도 개선은 영상 복원이나 확대 같은 응용 분야에서 널리 사용되는 기술로서, 결과 영상에서의 블록 현상이나 인공물 발생과 같은 화질 열화를 제거하는 것이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 손실 정보를 이용하는 영상 해상도 개선 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 획득 저해상도를 하위 레벨 보간을 통해서 손실 정보를 계산 및 추정하고 이를 보간된 고해상도 영상에 적용함으로서 1차적인 보간을 수행하고 획득 저해상도 영상과의 에러를 계산한 후 다시 보간된 영상에 적용하는 과정을 반복하여 최종적인 보간 영상을 생성한다. 동일한 영상을 이용한 시험을 통해서 비교 방법들보다 평균 PSNR에서 3.2㏈ 이상 향상된 것을 확인하였고, 주관적 화질도 개선된 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 계산복잡도를 85% 이상 감소시킬 수 있었다. 제안한 해상도 개선 방법은 영상 처리의 다양한 분야에서 기반 기술로 사용될 수 있다.

  • Conventional bipolar surface electromyography(EMG) technique detects only the superimposed electromyographic activity of a large number of motor units due to its low spatial resolution. For the diagnosis of neuromuscular disorder, the information of single MU is required. In this paper, 9 channel array surface electrode system was as designed and MLoG filter was proposed. Also the MCPT(modified convolution processing technique)method was proposed for the improvement of MUAP resolution. For performance evaluation, power spectrum analysis of random data and raw EMG signal comparison of MUAP shape and quantitative estimation of SNR were executed. As a result, the MUAP resolution improvement of 32% was obtained from the standpoint of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR).

  • 3차원 완전 결상에서 동적 배열 렌즈 방식을 사용하여 해상도를 향상시킬 때, 해상도 향상 특성을 조사하였다. 렌즈 배열의 이동 방향 및 이동 거리에 따라 관측 해상도가 달라짐을 컴퓨터 합성 완전 결상을 이용하여 보였다. 이를 통해 효율적으로 관측 해상도를 향상시킬 수 있는 렌즈 배열의 이동 조건을 찾을 수 있다.

  • In this paper, we aim to evaluate the performance of the digital signal processing (DSP) algorithm used in [8] in order to improve the resolution of spectrometers with fixed number of low-cost, non-ideal filters. In such spectrometers, the resolution is limited by the number of filters. We aim to demonstrate via new experiments that the resolution improvement by six times over the conventional limit is possible by using the DSP algorithm as claimed by [8].

Improvement of Temporal Resolution for Land Surface Monitoring by the Geostationary Ocean Color Imager Data

  • With the increasing need for high temporal resolution satellite imagery for monitoring land surfaces, this study evaluated the temporal resolution of the NDVI composites from Geostationary Ocean Color Imager (GOCI) data. The GOCI is the first geostationary satellite sensor designed to provide continuous images over a $2,500{\times}2,500km^2$ area of the northeast Asian region with relatively high spatial resolution of 500 m. We used total 2,944 hourly images of the GOCI level 1B radiance data obtained during the one-year period from April 2011 to March 2012. A daily NDVI composite was produced by maximum value compositing of eight hourly images captured during day-time. Further NDVI composites were created with different compositing periods ranging from two to five days. The cloud coverage of each composite was estimated by the cloud detection method developed in study and then compared with the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Aqua cloud product and 16-day NDVI composite. The GOCI NDVI composites showed much higher temporal resolution with less cloud coverage than the MODIS NDVI products. The average of cloud coverage for the five-day GOCI composites during the one year was only 2.5%, which is a significant improvement compared to the 8.9%~19.3% cloud coverage in the MODIS 16-day NDVI composites.

  • In this paper, we describe the digital signal-processing for ultrasonic echo signals for the improvement of range resolution. The problem is to find the magnitude of analytic signals that are consistent with the arrival-rate of energy. It is also baaed upon the fact that the shapes of echo signals do not change, although the ampli- tudes and widths of the echo signals become smaller and wider than those of the transmitted signals. We have made the improvement in range resolution by using the quadrature-low pass filter and the area filter which are made on the basis of the theory discussed above.

  • In focused ion beam (FIB) fabrication processes the ion beam intensity with Gaussian profile has a drawback for high resolution machining. In this paper, the fabrication method to modify the beam profile at substrate using silt mask is proposed to increase the machining resolution at high current. Slit mask is utilized to block the part of beam and transmit only high intensity portion. A nano manipulator is utilized to handle the silt mask. Geometrical analysis on fabricated profile through silt mask was conducted. By utilizing proposed method, improvement of machining resolution was achieved.

  • 선진국에서는 건설분쟁을 소송 외 분쟁해결방법(ADR)에 의한 해결이 보편화 되어 있다. 최근 우리나라에서도 공공건설공사에서의 계약상대자간의 클레임이 증가하는 추세이다. 그러나 현행 공공공사 도급계약의 분쟁해결 조항은 분쟁 해결절차가 명시되지 않아 적시의 클레임 제기에 어려움이 있고, 소송과 중재를 동시에 규정한 선택적 중재조항으로 되어있어 중재에 의한 분쟁해결의 걸림돌이 되고 있다. 이에 국내외의 분쟁해결제도 및 절차를 검토하고 판례를 연구하여 선택적 중재조항에 대한 해설방법을 고찰하여 공사계약일반조건 분쟁해결조항의 개선방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • This paper proposes super-resolution reconstruction algorithm for image enhancement. Super-resolution reconstruction algorithms reconstruct a high-resolution image from multi-frame low-resolution images of a scene. Conventional super- resolution reconstruction algorithms are iterative back-projection(IBP), robust super-resolution(RS)method and standard Papoulis-Gerchberg(PG)method. However, traditional methods have some problems such as rotation and ringing. So, this paper proposes modified algorithm to improve the problem. Experimental results show that this proposed algorithm solve the problem. As a result, the proposed method showed an increase in the PSNR for traditional super-resolution reconstruction algorithms.
