이축 스크루 압출기내 유동의 수치 해석과 혼합 성능 분석 (Numerical Study of Internal Flow in Twin Screw Extruder and Its Mixing Performance Analysis)

  • We analyzed the non-Newtonian and non-isothermal flow in the melt conveying zone in co-rotating and counter-rotating screw extruder system with the commercial code, STAR-CD, and compared the mixing performance with respect to screw speed and rotating direction. The viscosity of fluid was described by power-law model. The dynamics of mixing was studied numerically by tracking the motion of particles in a twin screw extruder system. The extent of mixing was characterized in terms of the residence time distribution and average strain. The results showed that high screw speed decreases the residence time but increases the shear rate. Therefore higher screw speed increases the strain and has better mixing performance. Counter-rotating screw extruder system and co-rotating screw extruder has the similar shear rate with the same screw speed in spite of different rotating direction. However, the counter-rotating screw has good mixing performance, which is resulted from longer residence time than that of co-rotating screw extruder.

  • We analyzed the non-Newtonian and non-isothermal flow with Carreau-Yasuda viscosity model in co-rotating and counter-rotating twin screw extruder systems. The mixing performances with respect to the screw speed, the screw pitch, and the rotating direction have been investigated. The dynamics of mixing was studied numerically by tracking the motions of particles. The extent of mixing was characterized in terms of the deformation rate, the residence time distribution, and the average strain. The results showed that the high screw speed decreases the residence time but increases the deformation rate. Small screw pitch increases the residence time. It is concluded that the high screw speed increases the dispersive mixing performance, while the small screw pitch increases the distributive mixing performance. Co-rotating screw extruder has the better conveying performance and the distributive mixing performance than counter-rotating screw extruder with the same screw speed and pitch. Co-rotating screw extruder developed faster transport velocity and it is advantageous the flow characteristics to the mixing that transfers polymer melt from one barrel to the other barrel.

동축 수소 확산화염에서의 NOx 생성 분석 (Analysis of NOx Emissions in Thrbulent Nonpremixed Hydrogen-Air Jet Flames with Coaxial Air)

  • The characteristics of NOx emissions in pure hydrogen nonpremixed flames with coaxial air are analyzed numerically for the three model cases of coaxial air flames classified by varying coaxial air velocity and/or fuel velocity. In coaxial air flames, the flame length is reduced by coaxial air and can be represented as a function of the ratio of coaxial air to fuel velocity. Coaxial air decreases flame reaction zone, resulting in reducing flame residence time significantly. Finally, the large reduction of EINOx is achieved by the decrease of the flame residence time. It is found that because coaxial air can break down the flame self-similarity law, appropriate scaling parameters, which are different from those in the simple jet flames, are recommended. In coaxial air flames, the flame residence time based on the flame volume produces better results than that based on a cube of the flame length. And some portion of deviations from the 1/2 scaling law by coaxial air may be due to the violation of the linear relationship between the flame volume and the flame reaction zone.

Application of UV Photocatalytic Degradation of Benzene

  • Benzene pollution is becoming increasingly serious, and the treatment technology of benzene has attracted much attention. In this paper, a self-made photocatalytic reactor was used to explore the removal rate of benzene under the ultraviolet light with the wavelength of 253.7nm. The results showed that the degradation rate of benzene decreased from 64.29% to 16.26% when the concentration increased from 43mg/㎥ to 256mg/㎥ under the condition of 28W UV light intensity and 50s residence time. Under the condition of 28W UV light intensity and 103mg/㎥ concentration, the residence time increased from 16.5s to 50s, and the benzene removal rate increased from 13.23% to 42.72%.Under the condition of benzene concentration 103mg/㎥ and residence time of 50s, the removal rate of benzene increased from 29.34% to 52.58% in the process of UV light intensity rising from 28W to 48W.It is concluded that decreasing the concentration and increasing the residence time of gas were beneficial to the removal of benzene and increasing the light intensity can improve the removal rate of benzene.

  • Two-dimensional carbon/carbon preforms made of PAN-based carbon yarn and phenolic resin were densified with pyrolysis of propane by pulse chemical vapor infiltration where repeated the cycle of gas introduction residence and evacuation. Maximim density increment was 14% when infiltration temperature and time were 100$0^{\circ}C$ and 21.25 hrs respectively. The distribution of deposits of pyrocarbon by this process has been occurred uniformly in the bottom middle and top of carbon/carbon composite preform Pulse CVI with residence is most effective in increasing density and shortening infiltration time among isothermal CVI and pulse CVI with and without residence.

유비쿼터스 기반 U-한옥의 서비스모델 연구 (A Study on the U-Korean Traditional Residence introduced Ubiquitous Services in a Traditional Residence)

  • In a study of a peculiarity of the Korean residence construction as the central Jeong Yeo Chang's Residence, we proposed varieties service models for an anthropocentric U-Korean style with "a convenience, a security, an economical, a pleasure". It was to assume for this research that was established in case of all necessity IT infrastructures, and was structural alterations to a Korean residence sectional. It was used for Wall-Pad(Home Gateway) for controlling services, gas valves, remote inspection of a meter, curtains, doorlocks, boilers, temperature controllers, indoor ventilation systems, breakers, and expansion of crime prevention, energy. With introducing various service models on U-Korean style house, removing a negative view about Korean residence, we drew the best suited residence condition combining with a merit of the Korean residence and the Ubiquitous Intelligent Home Service. In order to realize U-Korean style house at the right time at the right place, a maintenance was required to be ensured based on social infrastructures and institutions and laws.

영산강 하구해역에서의 단순 박스모델에 의한 물질수지 (Material Budgets in the Youngsan River Estuary with Simple Box Model)

  • 영산강 하구해역에서 계절별로 물질순환과 영양염 플럭스 특성을 파악하기 위해 단순 박스모델을 이용하여 담수수지, 염분수지, 영양염 물질수지를 산정하였다. 외해, 시스템영역으로 유입되는 계절적 평균담수의 양은 $36.481{\times}10^6{\sim}663.634{\times}10^6m^3/month$로 나타났다. 염분수지에 의해 계산된 담수존재량은 $2.515{\times}10^6{\sim}5.812{\times}10^6m^3$이었고 평균 체류시간은 0.26~2.03일로 계산되었다. 평균체류시간은 계절별로 큰 차이를 보였는데 강우가 집중된 하계 풍수기에는 0.26일의 짧은 체류시간을 보인 반면 추계 갈수기에는 2.03일의 평균체류시간을 나타내었다. 해수교환량은 $1,248{\times}10^6{\sim}9,489{\times}10^6m^3/month$으로 하계 풍수기에 해수교환량이 가장 크게 나타났다. 영양염의 부하량은 DIP과 DIN가 각각 2.9~61.22 ton/month, 76.63~1,149.91 ton/month로 계산되었다. 영양염의 체류시간은 DIP의 경우 0.45~1.10일의 범위를, DIN의 경우 0.28~1.92일의 범위를 보였고, 담수체류시간과 비교하면 DIP과 DIN는 하계를 제외한 전 계절에서 담수 체류시간 보다 짧은 체류시간을 보여 영양염이 빠르게 순환되는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 DIP는 동계에 외해에서 상대적으로 높은 농도를 보이고 같은 시기에 해수교환에 의한 플럭스가 시스템 영역내로 유입되는 결과를 보여 외부 유입원 존재를 추정하게 하였다.

담수유입에 의한 폐쇄성 내만의 물질체류시간 수치예측 (A Numerical Prediction of Residence Time According to Freshwater Influx in Enclosed Bay)

  • 본 연구에서는 EFDC모델과 입자추적모델을 이용하여 마산만의 담수유입에 의한 폐쇄성 내만의 물질체류시간을 산정하였다. 마산만의 해수유동을 재현하고 이를 바탕으로 평균체류시간을 계산하였다. 마산만의 조석에 의한 평균물질체류시간은 만 북측과 돝섬 부근까지가 약 110일이내, 모도 주변 해역이 약 40일, 부도에서 외해까지 약 20일 정도로 산정되었다. 담수유입에 따른 마산만의 4개 소해역별 평균물질체류시간은 I과 II영역에서 약 81일로 감소하였으나, 마산만의 외해측에 위치한 III과 IV영역은 각각 58일과 17일로 증가하였다.

댐저수지 유입 후 유기탄소 농도 및 성상 변화 (Changes in the Concentrations and the Characteristics of Organic Carbon After Entrance into Dam Reservoirs)

  • Changes of organic carbon after the entrance into dam reservoirs were investigated using water samples collected in May, September, and October in 2010 from the inflow sites and the outlets of four selected dam reservoirs-Soyang, Chungju, Chungju regulation, and Uiam. Increase of refractory dissolved organic carbon (R-DOC) was observed only for large dam reservoirs with long residence times whereas the trend was not found for relatively small reservoirs. The effects of residence times on organic carbon changes were further confirmed by significant positive correlations between monthly residence times and the relative increase of either dissolved organic carbon (DOC) or R-DOC concentrations. Comparison of spectroscopic characteristics of DOC revealed that the changes in the large reservoirs in May might result from in-lake processes. The inflow of terrestrial sources of DOM during storms appears to largely affect the DOC quality of the large reservoirs for the rest of the sampling periods. The mechanism, however, did not fully explain the behaviors of DOC for the small sized reservoirs. Our combined results suggested that both residence time and the input of allochthonous carbon sources might substantially influence the quantity of DOC as well as its quality in dam reservoirs.

1910년(年) 이전(以前) 일식관사(日式官舍)의 이식(移植)에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Implantation of the Japanese Style Official Residence before 1910)

  • In the time of the rule of Japanese imperialism, Japanese style official residence played major role at the implantation of modern dwellings into Korea and its influences on Korean modern dwellings are distinguishable. This study focuses on the Japanese style official residence implanted into Korea before 1910. Before 1910 Japanese civilians in Korea builded just a traditional Japanese dwellings at the Japanese settlement in the ports opened. But Japanese engineers engaged in governmental organization of construction in the Old-Korean Empire builded a central corridor type Japanese dwellings as official residence. The central corridor type Japanese dwelling was an urban dwelling compromised between Japanese style and western style and distinguished by an outer-court type plan, Japanese entrance hall, central corridor and western style reception room. It is certified that the central corridor type Japanese dwelling was implanted into Korea before 1910 and this was the first time an urban dwelling to be implanted and spread through the whole Korea. The central corridor type Japanese dwelling implanted into Korea took in On-Dol and transformed to Korea-Japanese eclectic style. The central corridor type Japanese dwellings implanted into Korea in the time of the rule of Japanese imperialism makes function as a precedent of a modern urban dwelling to Korean and makes Korean dwellings transform from the rural inner court type into the urban outer court type.
