대학의 특성에 따른 산학협력역량과 산학협력성과의 관계에 대한 연구 (A Study on Relationship between Performance of University-Industry Cooperations and Competency Factors of University-Industry Cooperations by Characteristic of Universities)

  • 본 연구는 대학의 특성에 따른 산학협력역량이 대학의 산학협력 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 202개 대학의 산학협력 역량요인과 산학협력 성과에 대한 자료를 수집하여, 다중회귀분석을 통해 실증분석하였다. 연구모형에 사용된 투입요인은 대학의 특성(연구/교육중심 대학 및 국공립/사립 대학), 산학협력 역량(자원역량 및 교육역량)이었고, 대학의 산학협력 성과요인은 지적재산권 창출성과, 기술이전 성과, 창업성과 그리고 재정성과로 구성하였다. 그 결과, 연구중심대학 및 국공립대학이 교육중심대학 및 사립대학에 비해 산학협력성과가 높았고, 산학협력자원 및 산학협력교육역량 요인 모두 산학협력성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 결과가 제시되었다.

How Human Resource Agility Improves Distribution of Human Resource Performance at Private Universities in Indonesia

  • Purpose of this study is to examine how human resources agility affects the distribution of performance lecturers and education staff at private universities in Indonesia. Sample and data in this research is 389 respondents from 265.000 lecturers and academic workers in 3115 Private universities in Indonesia. Methodology in this study used the Structural Equation Model to analyze how human factors agility such as creativity, focus, effectivity, and efficiency have an influence on agility and performance. Results show that agility plays a very important role in improving the performance of lecturers and staff at private universities in Indonesia. It was found that human factors agility, where indicators such as creativity, focus, effectivity, and efficiency have an influence on the agility and performance of lecturers and staff at private universities in Indonesia. Conclusion from this research agility factors is important to improve the distribution of performance Lecturers and Staff's on Private University in Indonesia. Hopefully, in further research to other researcher add some other important variables such as the working environment and spirit of leadership in influencing agility as well as the performance of teachers and staff at Private Universities in Indonesia.

Eu3+/Tb3+Co-Doped Cerium Oxide Transparent Nanocomposite for Color-Tunable Emission

  • $Eu^{3+}/Tb^{3+}$ co-doped nanocomposite containing $CeO_2$ nanocrystals was successfully prepared by an in situ sol-gel polymerization approach. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy demonstrated the homogeneous precipitation of $CeO_2$ nanocrystals among the polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) matrix. The thermal stability and UV-shielding capability of the obtained nanocomposite were improved with increase of $CeO_2$ content. The tuning of the emissive color from green and yellow to red can be easily achieved by varying the dopant species and concentration. These results suggested that the obtained nanocomposite could be potentially applicable in transparent solid-state luminescent devices.

Application of Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis in Decision-Making by Public Universities in Vietnam

  • This paper aims to examine the application of cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis by public universities in Vietnam. In the context where Vietnam is gradually transferring financial autonomy to public universities, the conduct of a CVP analysis in relation to these public universities is particularly urgent. Research samples were collected in 2018 and 2019 by surveying Vietnamese public universities. After collection, the data is synthesized by excel file, conformity check, data cleansing and data analysis on SPSS software by tools such as Frequency statistics, price statistics, and means. The results show that: (1) universities used the CVP analysis in decision-making, (2) information related to the CVP analysis used for decision-making by administrators remained simplistic and lacked cost-control details, and (3) the application of the CVP analysis by university administrators for decision-making was neither comprehensive nor coordinated. The findings also show that, given the current conditions in Vietnam, increasing the governance in public universities is essential, as is contributing to reducing costs, increasing universities'income, providing the best service to students, and improving the quality of training. The study calls for the flexible application of the CVP analysis, which will provide information to help managers at Vietnamese public universities make the best decisions.

  • Knowledge Management (KM) is a collaborative and integrated approach adopted at various levels to ensure that an organization's knowledge assets are best utilized to increase organizational performance. While KM has been adopted in a large number of sectors and organizations, colleges and universities, and the higher education sector in general, is yet to take full advantage of the possibilities offered by KM. Also, while past research has sought to highlight the importance of implementing KM in higher education, there is a lack of a single, clear template for KM implementation that universities leaders and administrators can adopt. The contribution of the paper is a practical, actionable, step-by-step plan, as well as a diagrammatic, theoretical framework for initiating KM successfully in colleges and universities.

교육서비스품질이 학생만족도를 매개로 교육성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Educational Service Quality on Student Performance through Student Satisfaction)

  • With a remarkable and rapid change of universities in Korea, the role of universities has been changed from a traditional education supplier to a demander. Both the remarkable decrease of the number of entering students and the advent of an open education market are enforcing the universities to be changed. Universities should provide a variety of educational services in accordance with the students' needs. This study is based on the systematical Kuh's model which the educational service quality provide a decision making of alternative plan. This research is purposed to empirically study the effects of educational service quality(circumstance index, input index, participate index, output index) provided by universities on student satisfaction and educational performance(Perceived usefulness, Education Achievement). The results of this research follows; first, circumstance index, input index and output index significantly effect student satisfaction, but participate index does not effect satisfaction. Second, student satisfaction significantly effects on the educational performance.

과학기술특성화대학의 지역혁신 연계성 분석: 모드 1과 모드 2 지식성과를 중심으로 (The Contribution of the S&T-Centered Research Universities on the Regional Innovation: Based on Mode 1 and Mode 2 Knowledge Performances)

  • 최근 들어 글로벌 경제는 국가 간 경쟁에서 지역 기반 경쟁으로 변모하고 있다. 이 같은 변화 속에 지역공간에 기반한 지식생산과 활용이 강조되고 있다. 우리나라도 고급 과학기술인재를 양성하고 지역산업을 육성한다는 목적 하에 KAIST를 비롯한 5개 과학기술특성화대학을 대전, 대구, 광주, 포항, 울산 지역에 설립한 바 있다. 이들 과학기술특성화대학은 국내 최고 수준의 연구역량과 교육여건을 보유하고 있으며 일반대학과 비교해 우수한 연구성과를 창출하고 있다고 평가된다. 하지만 이들이 설립의 목적과는 달리 우수 연구거점으로서의 역할에 중점을 두었고, 지역혁신 거점으로서 역할은 미흡하다는 지적도 있다. 이 같은 문제의식을 바탕으로 본 연구에서는 과학기술특성화대학의 성과를 Mode 1 성과와 Mode 2 성과로 구분하고 일반대학과 비교함으로써 이들 특성화대학이 설립목적에 부합하며 동시에 지역혁신에 기여하고 있는지를 실증분석 하고자 하였다. 분석결과, 특성화대학은 Mode 1 성과에 있어 일반대학에 비해 높게 나타났으나 Mode 2 성과는 이들에 비해 오히려 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 학과의 구성이나 연구 분야에 있어서도 대학별 차별성이 적고, 지역 특화산업과의 연계 정도도 낮음을 확인할 수 있었다. 결론적으로 Mode 2 관점의 지역과 연계성에 있어 분석의 대상으로 삼은 특성화대학이 일반대학에 오히려 못 미치는 성과를 보였고, 그 특성화 정도에 있어 차이점을 확인하기 어려웠다.

Evolution of Universities and Government Policy: the case of South Korea

  • This paper investigates the two academic revolutions of the Korean higher education system. Since economic catch-up began in the 1960s, Korea has strongly encouraged the activities of its higher education system to serve industrial development as it has progressed through various developmental stages. At the 'strong regulation' stage, universities focused on the provision of technicians. As the need for higher education grew, the 'massive expansion' stage emerged. Finally, most recently, university research and its direct contribution to the economy have been invigorated by strong governmental support. Possibly, this is due to the fact that the Korean government has strongly controlled not only industry but also academia. As long as other East Asian universities have similar conditions to those of the development of Korean universities, we can generalise this model not only to universities in other East Asian countries, but also to universities in other rapid catch-up countries.

DEA 모형을 이용한 국내 대학의 경영 효율성 평가 (The Evaluation of Administrative Efficiency of the Korean University Using DEA Model)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate administrative efficiency of the Korean university and to identify the factors which may affect on the efficiency of universities. In addition, last purpose of this study was to compare correlation among administrative, research and education model. Methods: The collected data through Higher Education in Korea were analysed using DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). Furthermore, in order to provide the better accurate results by removing the bias of the results, this paper implements Bootstrap DEA. It also analyzed the causes of efficiency by Tobit Regression after setting the dependent variable as a proposed efficiency score and compared correlation analysis results between other models. Results: The results of this study are as follows; First, the Korean universities showed low administrative efficiencies. Second, efficiency of national universities are higher than it of private universities. Finally, the administrative and research education model have statistically significant correlation. However, usually many Korean universities focus their resources on education performance such as employment and rates to attract new students than research performances. Conclusion: This study shows that the administrative efficiency positively affects both research and educational efficiency. Approximately 70% of the Korean universities needs to improve their administrative efficiencies and to pay attention to enhance their poor services, low-level performances.

인문.사회과학 분야 교수의 연구업적물 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Faculty Evaluation of Research Achievements in Humanities and Social Sciences)

  • 본 연구는 교수의 연구 성과의 질적 수준을 제고하기 위해 인문 사회과학 분야 연구업적물의 다양한 유형을 파악하고, 현행 평가방법을 국내외 대학을 중심으로 살펴본 후에 평가 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 먼저, 문헌연구 및 관련규정 분석을 바탕으로 연구업적물의 개념과 유형, 평가 방식을 파악하였다. 그리고 국내 26개의 종합대학을 중심으로 평가 현황을 조사하고 국외 대학에 재직 중인 한국인 교수들에게 연구업적물 평가 방식에 대한 자문을 받은 후, 평가에 있어서 기본 원칙과 함께 개선 방향을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 국내 대학에서 인문 사회과학 분야 연구자의 연구업적을 합리적으로 평가하여 연구자들의 연구 활동을 진작시키고 질적 수준을 제고하여 대학의 발전과 내실은 물론 국가 연구경쟁력을 증진시키는 데 기초자료가 될 것이다.
