Purpose: The total number of times a paper is cited, also known as the impact factor (IF) of a medical journal, is widely implied in evaluating the quality of a research paper. We evaluated the citation index data as an IF of Korean J Pediatr in Korean Medical Citation Index (KoMCI) and Journal Citation Index (JCI) of Web of Science. Methods: We calculated the IF of Korean J Pediatr at KoMCI supervised by Korean Association of Medical Journal Editors. And we estimated the IF of Korean J Pediatr by the JCI of Web of Science although it was never officially reported. Results: The IF of Korean J Pediatr on KoMCI has increased from 0.100 in the year 2000, to 0.205 in 2008, and 0.326 in 2009. Although the IF of Korean J Pediatr was 0.006 in 2005, 0.018 in 2006, 0.028 in 2008, 0.066 in 2009, and 0.018 in 2010 according to the JCI of Web of Science, the number of citations are steadily increasing. Conclusion: Understanding and realizing the current status will be a stepping stone for further improvement. The next objective of the Korean J Pediatr is to become registered in the SCI or SCIE. Increasing the IF according to the JCI of Web of Science is crucial in order to achieve this goal.

The interest about Artificial Intelligence through the AlphaGo Match in Korea has been increasing rapidly. So far, very little has been done in Artificial Intelligence. The aim of this paper is to reveal technology convergence and to assess the country profile in the field of artificial intelligence(AI). Technology convergence map was created after extracting USPTO patent grants and Web of Science data and generating matrics in the field of AI. Several Indicators were obtained by extracting and calculating SCOPUS Data that KISTI has. According to USPTO patent grants, it shows that AI technology has a strong relationship with several sectors such as cost/price determination, image analysis, and surgery, etc. Also, AI has a active convergence with some fields of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BioTechnologies, and Medicine etc. According to country profile analysis, Korea reaches a global average growth index. However, in terms of specialization index (SI) and average of relative citations (ARC), there is a large gap between Korea and research leading countries.

Many papers are published in KCI-listed journals for objectively validating research results and evaluations. This study collected articles published from 2008 to October, 2018 (10 years) of KAIE, which is a representative KCI registration institute which publishes various research related to elementary information education, and classified and analyzed by 10 subject areas. As a result, 34.2% of the papers published in the topic related to software education were found in the whole papers, and 33% of the papers published in this society showed the highest number of citations of papers relating to software education. Many of the remaining articles analyzed by subject area were overlapped with software education in the field of small scale medicine. In the future, a considerable number of researchers are expected to focus on software education.

This study analyzed the open peer review results for 585 papers in the field of social sciences in F1000Research, a representative OPR(Open Peer Review) platform, and checked the relationship between the number of cited-by, altmetrics and review score. In addition, by verifying whether the review score shows a moderating effect between the relationship between the utilization of the paper and the cited-by, it was confirmed whether the paper evaluated as high quality in the open review platform can promote the number of cited-by. As a result of the analysis, first, there was no significant difference in the number of cited-by between the approved and conditionally approved paper groups, but the converted review score and the number of cited-by showed a weak positive correlation (r = 0.40 - 0.60). Second, the review score showed a weak correlation with the altmetrics, and it was analyzed that review result could weakly predict the number of cited-by and social impact. Finally, it was verified that the review score performed a significant positive moderating effect (B=1.69, P < 0.01) in making the use of the paper lead to citation. As a result of the conditional effect test, it was verified that it showed the greatest effect(B=11.32, 95% CI [10.57, 12.08]) in the group of papers rated as the highest quality. Therefore, it was analyzed that the open review scores can help researchers select high quality papers and induce citations.

CrossRef operates a cross-publisher citation linking system based on the DOI(R) global identifier. The number of organization building a reference citations linking structure through CrossRef is increasing. This paper concentrates on developing a Citation Matcher Solution to effectively build the reference linking structure. Citation Matcher automatically builds and processes the reference citation and identifier mapping which used to be handled manually. After the copy & paste of the reference citation, analyzation is processed to parse the journal title, author name, volume, issue, and start pages from the free style text. CrossRef, PubMed, and YesKISTI's identifiers are collected by through a standardized method. Renovation of the building process for domestic scholastic resources' reference linking and matching will be made possible by using a Citation Matcher. The connection between resources and seamless access for the electronic full-text will enhance the usability.

Purpose: This is for analyzing the recent citations from papers enrolled in the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing and understanding correct marking of references. Method: Targeted 2,334 references in 93 articles introduced from Feb. 2002 to Dec. 2002 which are applied current contribution rules of the Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing. Result: 1. 25 references are quoted per article and particularly foreign journals are most frequently quoted. Among foreign journals, Nursing Research is most frequently used. The Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing is also mostly referred material among national journals. 2. The retrieval rate is prove to be 1,539(83.8%) and 267(11.7%) are without errors and the other 2,022 have at least more than one error regardless of frequency. 3. Major error rate of periodical publication is 484(36.8%) and most occurred in the inconsistency of titles between articles and references. 4. Foreign journals have much more errors than national ones concerning periodical publications. Conclusion: Correct citation and marking of references can be achieved through strict reviewing process by authors, editors, publishers and paper investigators. In consequence, it is expected that these processes can cause improvement of quality in impact factor and papers.
Purpose: The purpose of this paper was to explore the meaning of parent participation (PP), to clarify the concept of PP as a benefit to children and their families, and to increase understanding of PP in pediatric nursing practice. Methods: Walker and Avant's approach to concept analysis was used. A search of multidisciplinary literature published between 1994 and 2012 was undertaken using the keyword, 'parent participation' combined with hospitalized children. Attributes, antecedents and consequences were inductively derived from the citations analyzed (n=30). Results: PP was identified as having three attributes: Negotiation, Performing caring activity, Providing individualized care. Antecedents of PP were 'Parents & pediatric nurses' attitudes', 'Children's age', 'Children's conditions'. Consequences of PP were 'Effective partnership', 'Mutual empowerment'. Conclusion: Parent participation as defined by the results of this study should contribute a foundation for theory development in pediatric nursing practice.

Background Many surgical specialties have had pioneering influences from plastic surgeons. However, many of these areas of practice have evolved to include surgeons from diverse training backgrounds. This raises the question as to whether the prominence of other specialties in clinical practice translates to greater research productivity in these areas. The objective of this paper is to investigate the publication volumes of plastic surgeons in selected areas of practice compared to surgeons from other disciplines. Methods PubMed was used to examine publication trends in areas associated with plastic surgery. Searches for the following topics were performed: head and neck reconstruction, hand surgery, breast reconstruction, ventral hernia repair, abdominal component separation, brachial plexus injury, craniofacial surgery, and aesthetic surgery. Affiliation tags were used to examine contributions from nine specialties. Web of Science was used to identify the top cited articles for the last 10 years in each area. Results Articles by non-plastic surgeons comprise the majority of the literature for all areas of practice studied except for breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery. Despite this, plastic surgeons contributed the greatest number of top cited articles over the last 10 years for five of the areas of practice. Conclusions While plastic surgeons do not contribute the greatest proportion of articles published each year in several of the selected areas of practice, they do publish a larger number of articles that are the most cited. Plastic surgeons remain the dominant academic force in terms of volume and citations for both breast and aesthetic surgery.
An objective expert discrimination scheme is needed for finding researchers who have insight and knowledge about a particular field of research. There are two types of expert discrimination schemes such as a citation graph based method and a formula based method. In this paper, we propose an efficient expert discrimination scheme considering various characteristics that have not been considered in the existing formula based methods. In order to discriminate the expertise of researchers, we present six expertise indices such as quality, productivity, contributiveness, recentness, accuracy, and durability. We also consider the number of social citations to apply the characteristics of academic search sites. Finally, we conduct various experiments to prove the validity and feasibility of the proposed scheme.

In this paper, we propose a method of analyzing research papers published by researchers belonging to university departments in the field of disaster & safety for the scientometric analysis of the research status in the field of disaster safety. In order to conduct analysis research, the dataset constructed in previous studies was newly improved and utilized. In detail, for research papers of authors belonging to the disaster prevention and safety engineering type department of domestic universities, institution identification, cited journal identification of references, department type classification, disaster safety type classification, researcher major information, KSIC(Korean Standard Industrial Classification) mapping information was reflected in the experimental data. The proposed method has a difference from previous studies in the field of disaster & safety and data set based on related keyword searches. As a result of the analysis, the type and regional distribution of organizations belonging to the department of disaster prevention and safety engineering, the composition of co-authored department types, the researchers' majors, the status of disaster safety types and standard industry classification, the status of citations in academic journals, and major keywords were identified in detail. In addition, various co-occurrence networks were created and visualized for each analysis unit to identify key connections. The research results will be used to identify and recommend major organizations and information by disaster type for the establishment of an intelligent crisis warning system. In order to provide comprehensive and constant analysis information in the future, it is necessary to expand the analysis scope and automate the identification and classification process for data set construction.
