Recently, interest in research and development (R&D) investment decisions have increased among Korean domestic enterprises. However, existing R&D investment studies only focused on government R&D investment policies while only a few studies investigated firm level R&D investment. Prior literatures also overlooked the feedback loop between R&D investment and firm performance. Therefore, this paper identifies a system dynamics model for R&D investment decision making in domestic electronics firms. The conceptual model is derived from R&D investment-related theories found in bodies of literature on company performance, enterprise activity, and market maturity. This study investigates the dynamic feedback between R&D activities and sales using the system dynamics model. In other words, the system dynamics model is used to explain the change in the closed feedback circulation structure in R&D investment activities including technology development, production process, and marketing that subsequently result in sales increase and re-investment into R&D from the generated revenues. There are two major results. First, a similar ratio of investment on technology development and production process derives the higher company sales. Second, regardless of market maturity, marketing investment ratio positively affects sales and R&D budget growth. This study provides a system dynamics model to find the optimal ratio for R&D investment and suggests managerial strategic implications on electronic firm R&D investment decision making under market maturity condition.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest agenda priorities for nursing service R&D (Research and Development) related policies development. Methods: Two steps in developing the agendas and priorities were performed in this descriptive study. First, nursing service R&D agendas were extracted through needs assessment of nursing researchers and practitioners. Then, the priority of agendas was set by Analytic Hierarchy Process by ten experts who were representatives of nursing and other healthcare professionals. Results: Six core areas and forty-six nursing service R&D agendas were developed. The priority of agendas was different according to the evaluation criteria depending on weight value of nursing services. Conclusion: In order to select and promote nursing service R&D projects within national healthcare policy, nursing service R&D policy should be proposed with consideration to the importance of the criteria in reflecting characteristics of nursing care. By strengthening R&D capabilities for quality improvement and sensitive awareness of national directions for healthcare R&D policies, nursing service R&D can be appropriately promoted.

The dissemination process of agricultural research and development (R&D) results has somewhat different characteristics from that of typical R&D results. However, these characteristics are not adequately considered on the basis of an examination of the current performance system, the resulting management plans, and strategies for the application and dissemination of the results of agricultural R&D in Korea. The performance evaluation indicator exposed the problem of the inadequate consideration of the characteristics of each of these areas, particularly the lack of unified R&D-related institutions and the inadequacy of the system to monitor outcomes. To address these shortcomings in the agricultural R&D programs in Korea, the policies pertaining to agricultural R&D performance, results management, and dissemination in the U.S. and Japan were examined. Based on these investigations, we proposed strategies to improve the agricultural R&D policies in Korea.

Traditionally Nuclear Research and Development (R&D) result has been big influence on other industries and societies and it requires large scale investments and study period. So it is essential to apply Quality Assurance (QA) for systematic R&D management. This paper investigates QA System for U.S. Nuclear R&D and reviews QA elements. Based on this investigation, we applied QA requirements to Nuclear Hydrogen R&D project, and the scope of application be enlarged as R&D stage in progress. We also present QA system improvement way through consideration for Nuclear Hydrogen Project's QA application. As the need for QA in R&D is expected to increase in the future, it is necessary to prepare guidelines for R&D QA.

본 연구는 농업 R&D의 추세를 살펴보고자 텍스트마이닝 기법을 활용하여 농업 R&D에 해당하는 키워드를 분석하였다. 분석자료는 NTIS의 국가연구개발사업 과제정보를 활용하였으며, 2003년부터 2018년까지의 농업 R&D의 주요 키워드를 연도별 및 연구개발단계별로 구분하였다. 텍스트마이닝을 위해 키워드의 TF-IDF를 계산하여 점수별로 순위를 매기었으며, 유사한 키워드별로 그룹화하여 해석하였다. 주요 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 신기술의 도입과 외부 환경에 변화에 따른 농업 R&D 트렌드가 변화해가고 있다. 시간이 흐를수록 새로운 키워드가 대두되고 있으며, 기초연구 단계에서는 '기후변화'가, 응용연구 단계에서는 'ICT'와 '스마트팜'이, 개발연구 단계에서는 '수출' 키워드가 주되게 등장하고 있다. 두 번째, 연구개발 단계에서 시차를 가지고 키워드 변화가 나타나고 있다. 기초연구-응용연구-개발연구 순으로 주요 키워드가 변화하고 있으며, 대표적으로 '기후변화'와 '신품종' 키워드가 연구개발단계별로 연계되어 있었다. 세번째, 농업 R&D의 대표적인 키워드는 '벼' 키워드로 나타났다. 그러나 '녹색 및 기후변화 대응'과 '가공 및 유통기술' 같이 국내외 농업 환경 변화에 따라 연구의 방향성과 목적이 변화하고 있었다.

The deer was inseminated at the breeding season, which only shows appearance of the estrus cycles. Early diagnosis of pregnancy is very useful to select non-pregnant does and also very important to decide re-inseminations or mating for producing of calves. Nowadays almost nations try to promote the competition of nation through the development of national science technology. Also Korea has been engaging in this race of through public research & development institute. But recently the commercialization of R&D products appears a poor result in the royalty of technology according weak technology transfer toward IT small and medium-sized enterprises. Even If we have been trying to find the problems and causes, as yet it is true that we don't solve clearly the problem, make a diagnosis about it. This paper analyzes the process of commercialization in public R&D research institute(ETRI: Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) through system thinking and researches an interrelationship among government agency, public R&D research institute, and enterprise. This one can find the fact that between research fund and R&D products, transfer technology and royalty, and enterprise's operating profit and active technology transfer like adding technology development is a positive feedback loop. This positive feedback loop in the commercialization of public R&D research institute carries out very important role in examining problems in R&D product's commercialization. Also this paper looks forward to being a guide in the commercialization of public R&D research institute.

The final objective of this study is to establish the research and development (R&D) encouragement strategy in construction area. For this, this study deals with the survey of current status of Korean construction industry. The result of this study is as follow; First, it is necessary for strengthen the R&D infrastructure to establish R&D cooperation system between industry, university, government and public institute. Second, private sector's should do its role as one of the four performing sectors in R&D network, not just assisting role. We will apply the result for establshing the national strategy as basic data.

In acquiring and transferring a superior knowledge assesing the intermediate result value of a competitive R&D project is very important for a firm engaging in R&D. Most existing literatures on R&D evaluation are concerned with project selection and resource allocation. In this paper the stage of an R&D project is classified into research, exploratory development, and development. And a model is suggested which evaluates the intermediate result value before completion of development stage under duopoly and oligopolistic competition. Assessed value of the intermediate result transferred to the next tier company can be used as a minimum acceptable price to the inventor when more advanced knowledge acquired through R&D is transferred to the next tier one. The model suggested is composed of structural variables including research cost, success rates, potential profits, discount rate degree of competition. By using exponential distribution for invertion process time in each stage, we derive a formula that can assess the value of the intermediate result, and we demonstrate how the model can be applied to a competitive R&D situation through an example.

The purpose of this study is to explore the research and development(R&D) programs for effectively response of population aging. We analyzed of aging-related R&D support status by National Science and Technology Information Services(NTIS) and reviewed of foreign aging-related R&D programs. It was found that the overall lack of support systems, the R&D support status for Korea's aging society is very low performance and the difference appears in the annual support status, etc. It is very important to enhance the effectiveness of R&D programs in order to effectively prepare for aging society. I suggested support measures of the R&D for aging society by survey research. The result of this study will help in planning of the R&D for aging society and contribute to increasing of welfare for the aged.
