Relationships between Young Children's Day Care Experience and Their Attachment Relationships with Parents and Socioemotional Behavior Problems (영유아기의 탁아 경험과 유아의 부모에 대한 애착 및 사회정서적 문제행동과의 관계)

  • The purpose of the current study was to determine whether preschoolers' attachment relationships with their parents and socioemotional behaviors are related to their day care experiences in infancy and at the present time. The participants consisted of 59 preschoolers and their mothers from 2-parent, white, middle-class dual earner families in Madison, Wisconsin. Preschoolers' attachment quality was measured by two representational instruments: the Separation Anxiety Test and "My Family and Friends". Mothers completed questionnaires about their family background and their children's day care history. The quality of current day care was obtained from directors' reports about regulatable features of the day care centers. Teachers completed the Preschool Behavior Questionnaire. Data was analyzed by hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the quality of preschoolers' attachment relationships with parents were significantly related to the amount of day care during infancy, the quality of current care, and children's gender. In addition, the amount of infant day care appeared to have negative relations with children's socioemotional behavior problems as evaluated by teachers.

  • In this paper, I examines the spatial representation of the change in the environment of the digital platform, and play the game with a focus on the spatial characteristics of a digital game. First, what is the Spatial characteristic of digital games? This section applies to a digital game "theory of Lefebvre", and the spatial representation of the practice space, divided into representational space were explored. Second, how to express dealing Is there space in the genre of adventure games? The spatial characteristics of the game medium through the Spatial characteristic of the adventure game genre that is most striking examples was analyzed whether the expression in any way. Consequently, the spatial characteristics of the digital game studies of the game as well as think a very large role in the development direction. In addition, this case analysis of the expression is the basis of this digital game that is utilized in many areas, and I am sure many possibilities to find a positive role in the game.

  • Scythian Earrings in the Black Sea region had completely degenerated, stifled by motifs and shapes of Greek origin, retaining its representational realism and its full emotional vitality. The purpose of this study is to review and research the symbolic meaning and classifying the types of the Scythian Earrings style through the tombs bequests. The Scythian Earrings were divided into the styles according to the shape, Earring with Ends Shaped like animal's Heads, Boat-Shaped Earrings, Bird-Shaped Pendants earrings, Earrings with a Disc and a Pendant, Earrings Shaped like the Figures, Earring with the drop Pendant, Spiral Earrings. Earrings based on the boat shape enjoyed a long popularity among the Scythians. As that form became elaborated and combined with the disk-pendent, it reflected native rather than Asian or Hellenic tastes. Although Scythian earrings were produced based on the shapes of Greece earrings, they recreated these as Scythian unique style. In particular, the animal motive and the decoration have various changes. The exquisite earrings attest to the elegant taste and splendid wealth of the upper classes.

Cloning and characterization of the multiprotein bridging factor 1 (YIMBFI) gene from the dimorphi yeast Yarrowia lipolytica

  • In order to identify Yawowia lipolytica genes induced by serum, cDNA representational difference analysis was performed using a PCR-select CDNA subtraction method. One of the genes cloned from the subtraction was a gene (YIMBFl) homologous to Saccharomyces cerevisiae MBF1 encoding the coactivator multiprotein bridging factor 1. Disruption of YIMBFl revealed that the gene was net essential for viability, and the Ylmbf△ strain did not show any distinct phenotypic change on solid serum medium. In liquid medium, however. a difference was found in the ability to maintain hyphae induced by serum. This result suggests that the YIMbf1 protein may mediate transcriptional activation of certain genes involved in the hypha fonmation of Y. lipolytica.

  • This study investigates great potential of architectural representation drawings for architects as well as designers to realize their design concept into visual forms. In 1988, an exhibition called "Deconstruction in Architecture" at Modern Art Museum, New York, was an important turning point in design representation. The study examines design drawings of architects of deconstructivism to analyze new attitudes toward building forms and programs in contemporary architecture. The study found in the drawings that initially, collages in many different types are often utilized to express simultaneous time and space. Secondly, section drawings become more important to explain ambiguous and complex floor system than before. Thirdly, cinematic montages are utilized to express indeterminate or loose programs. Fourthly, diagrams are utilized to visualize initial conditions and clues of design solution. The study concludes that design drawings are not only representation media admitting of changes and progress but also tools of design creation. creation.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the concept of 'individual' found in architecture of British Archigram Group. Although many critics and historians have judged Archigram as a simple technocrat, the concept of individual employed by Archigram since their Living City Exhibition undermine their representational works. Archigram's concept of individual was basically influenced by the European historical context since the Renaissance and at the same time by the philosophy of existentialism. Since Archigram proposed their individualistic trend In the Living City Exhibition, they have created many individualistic architecture such as Living Pod, Cushicle, Suitaloon, etc. Through these experimental projects, Archlgram's concept of individual did not intend to get rid of the society itself, but to form a society based on the individual autonomy and on the interaction between individuals. In the city of Archigram, there was ultimately the new symbiosis between individual units and this symbiosis completed new world.

  • 'Fantasy' in this study is Not something fantastic in the used to be-way we can Imagine easily. This study is to figure out 'fantasy' and 'the fantastic' as a significant measure to interpret the contemporary space-time. In particular, it analyzed that fantasy have influenced on some kind of specific trend what is expressed a tendency to contemporary interior designs of informal, indeterminacy and unpredictability. Fantasy is represented as 'the fantastic space' through spatial revealing, concealing, distorting, and connoting. Representation becomes a major issue in almost many kinds of knowledge-system that start from the mind to go out to the world in a realistic or idealistic way. Therefore, the fantastic space reconstructs the reality while making itself through to representational creation-process. It is Important for fantasy and the fantastic space to help detect behind beneath the reality more than what we know.

Genes Associated with Radiation Adaptive Response Induced by Low Level Radiation from $^{99m}Tc$ in Human Cell Lines (인체세포주에서 저선량 $^{99m}Tc$에 의해 발현되는 방사선 적응반응에 관련된 유전자에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to search activated genes that could be related to radiation adaptive response (RAR) induced by low-level radiation from $^{99m}Tc$ in human cell lines. Methods: We used gene discovery array (GDA) and representational difference analysis (RDA) methods. $^{99m}Tc$-pertechnetate was added to $2{\times}106/mL$ NC-37 cells (human lymphoblastic cells) to make concentrations ranging from 148 MBq/mL to 148 Bq/mL by serial 10 fold dilutions. After 44 hours, 2 Gy gamma irradiation was given to them using a Cs-137 cell irradiator. Results: As compared to the control (Con) group to which no $^{99m}Tc$ was added, those cells to which 148 and 14.8 KBq of $^{99m}Tc$ were added showed significantly lower damage to chromosomes, which was evaluated by metaphase analysis. Cells with 148 KBq $^{99m}Tc$ (T148 group) showed most significant protection. Activated genes in the T148 group as compared to Con group were evaluated by GDA and GDA methods. GDA revealed genes of casein kinase 2 (CK2) beta chain, immunoglobulins (lg), human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B, and two novel genes. Twenty RAR related clones were selected by RDA method. The size of those genes was from 234 to 603 base pairs. Conclusions: RAR was induced by low dose irradiation from $^{99m}Tc$ in NC-37 cell lines. Genes related to the response included CK2, lg, HLA-B in human lymphoblastic cell lines.

The Use of Analogy in Teaching and Learning Geography (효과적인 지리 교수.학습을 위한 유추의 이해와 활용)

  • Analogical thinking is a problem-solving strategy to use a familiar problem (or base analog) to solve a novel problem of the same type (the target problem). The purpose of this study is to provide new insight into geography teaching and learning by connecting cognitive science research on analogical thinking with issues of geography education and suggest that teaching with analogies can be a productive instructional strategy for geography. In this study, using the various examples of analogical thinking used in geography we defined analogical thinking, addressed the theoretical models on analogical transfer, and discussed conditions that make an effective analogical transfer. The major research findings include the following: a) the spatial analogy, indicating skills to find places that may be far apart but have similar locations, and therefore have other similar conditions and/or connections, can provide a useful way to design contents for place learning; b) representational transfer, specifying a common representation for two problems, can play a key role in solving geographic problems requiring data visualization and spatialization processes; and c) either asking learners to compare/analyze similar examples sharing common structure or providing them examples bridging the gap between concrete, real-life phenomena and the ideas and models can contribute to learning in geographic concepts and skills. The spatial analogy requiring both geographic content knowledge and visual/spatial thinking has the potential to become a content-specific problem-solving strategy. We ended with recommendations for future research on analogy that is important in geography education.
