Euclidean Voronoi diagram of spheres in 3-dimensional space has not been explored as much as it deserves even though it has significant potential impacts on diverse applications in both science and engineering. In addition, studies on the data structure for its topology have not been reported yet. Presented in this, paper is the topological representation for Euclidean Voronoi diagram of spheres which is a typical non-manifold model. The proposed representation is a variation of radial edge data structure capable of dealing with the topological characteristics of Euclidean Voronoi diagram of spheres distinguished from those of a general non-manifold model and Euclidean Voronoi diagram of points. Various topological queries for the spatial reasoning on the representation are also presented as a sequence of adjacency relationships among topological entities. The time and storage complexities of the proposed representation are analyzed.

The boundary evaluation technique for Boolean operation on non-manifold models which is regarded as the most popular and powerful method to create and modify 3-D CAD models has been developed. This technique adopted the concept of Merge and Selection in which the CSG tree for Boolean operation can be edited quickly and easily. In this method, the merged set which contains complete information about primitive models involved is created by merging primitives one by one, then the alive entities are selected following the given CSG tree. This technique can support the hybrid representation of B-rep(Boundary Representation) and CSG(Constructive Solid Geometry) tree in a unified non-manifold model data structure, and expected to be used as a basic method for many modeling problems such as data representation of form features, and the interference between them, and data representation of conceptual models in design process, etc.
This research studied differences in the distribution of maternal attachment representation between divorced and non-divorced low income mothers, associations between their divorce and childhood experiences, and associations between maternal attachment representation and childhood experiences. Subjects were twenty each divorced and still-married women with low socioeconomic status. The Adult Attachment Interview was used to assess their attachment representation resulting in classification by four types; autonomous (F), dismissing (Ds), preoccupied (E), or unresolved/disorganized (Ud). The divorced women had more childhood experiences of being rejected and neglected by their mothers than the non-divorced women. This indicates that maternal childhood experiences were related to maternal attachment representation and divorce.
The representation of irrational numbers has a key role in the learning of irrational numbers. However, transparent and finite representation of irrational numbers does not exist in school mathematics context. Therefore, many students have difficulties in understanding irrational numbers as an 'Object'. For this reason, this research explored how mathematics textbooks affected to students' understanding of irrational numbers in the view of process and object. Specifically we analyzed eight textbooks based on current curriculum and used framework based on previous research. In order to supplement the result derived from textbook analysis, we conducted questionnaires on 42 middle school students. The questions in the questionnaires were related to the representation and calculation of irrational numbers. As a result of this study, we found that mathematics textbooks develop contents in order of process-object, and using 'non repeating decimal', 'numbers cannot be represented as a quotient', 'numbers with the radical sign', 'number line' representation for irrational numbers. Students usually used a representation of non-repeating decimal, although, they used a representation of numbers with the radical sign when they operate irrational numbers. Consequently, we found that mathematics textbooks affect students to understand irrational numbers as a non-repeating irrational numbers, but mathematics textbooks have a limitation to conduce understanding of irrational numbers as an object.

The active control of a vehicle based on vehicle recognition is one of key technologies for the intelligent vehicle, and the part-based image representation is necessary to recognize vehicles with only partial shapes of vehicles especially in urban scene where occlusions frequently occur. In this paper, we implemented a part-based image representation scheme using non-negative tensor factorization(NTF) and realized a robust vehicle recognition system using the NTF feature. The result shows that the proposed method gives more intuitive part-based representation and more robust recognition in urban scene.

In this paper, the state-space representation of generalized complimentary filter is proposed. Complementary filter has the suitable structure to merge information from sensors whose frequency regions are complementary. First, the basic concept and structure of complementary filter is introduced. And then the structure of the generalized filter and its state-space representation are proposed. The state-space representation of complementary filter is able to design the complementary filter by applying modern filtering techniques like Kalman filter and $H_{\infty}$ filter. To show the usability of the proposed state-space representation, the design of Inertial Navigation System(INS) vertical channel damping loop using Global Positioning System(GPS) is described. The proposed GPS/INS damping loop lends the structure of Baro/INS(Barometer/INS) vertical channel damping loop that is an application of complementary filter. GPS altitude error has the non-stationary statistics although GPS offers navigation information which is insensitive to time and place. Therefore, $H_{\infty}$ filtering technique is selected for adding robustness to the loop. First, the state-space representation of GPS/INS damping loop is acquired. And next the weighted $H_{\infty}$ norm proposed in order to suitably consider characteristics of sensor errors is used for getting filter gains. Simulation results show that the proposed filter provides better performance than the conventional vertical channel loop design schemes even when error statistics are unknown.
While the unionization of contingent workers is at a standstill, the newly emerging peripheral workers' representation mechanism is CSO(Civil Society Organization). Unlike trade union's representation based on coercive collective bargaining and agreements CSO represents the interests of marginal workers through counseling, advocacy, public relations, and education. In the case of Korea, since the 2000s, labor CSOs, called "contingent centers", have started to spread. As a result of the survey, contingent centers which are contracted out by local governments show the possibility that the representation activities are restricted, because most of their resources are covered from the local government. This is because CSOs have limitations due to a dilemma in the process of representing funders and the represented. Nevertheless, the contingent workers' CSO in Korea shows the possibility of supplementing and supporting the role of trade unions' representation. In this regard, through the solidarity of trade unions and CSOs, it will be possible to expand the representation of unorganized and contingent workers in Korean society.

We described a method resonant mode identification in dielectric-rod loaded cylindrical cavity resonators. Resonant frequency of dielectric loaded cavity is calculated by analyzing the characteristic equation. The characteristic equation is solved by using the ContourPlot graph of Mathematica. As the result of comparing calculation value and experimental value of resonant frequencies, we know that the field representation of non-decaying mode is exact. The contour graph method is not a method using approximated representation of electromagnetic field variation at the outer area of dielectric in the resonators but a method using exact representation.
Visual representation has been a useful tool in mathematical problem solving because it vividly express and structure the variables in the problem. But its effects may vary according to the types of problems. So, this study analyzes the survey results on the 5th graders' visual representations using questionnaire consisting of the routine problems and the non-routine problems. The results are follows: The rate of correct answers in routine problems was higher than that of the non-routine problems. Even though the subjects were asked to solve the problem using visual representations, the ratio of solving the problem using the numerical expression was high in the routine problems. On the other hand, the rate of solving the problem using visual representation was high in the non-routine problems. The number of respondents who used visual representation in the non-routine problems was twice as many as that of the routine problems. But, among the subjects who used visual representation in the non-routine problems, the proportion of incorrect answers was also high, which resulted in using visual pictures. So, it is necessary to provide an experience that can use various types of the visual representations for problem solving and pay attention to the process of converting problems into visual representations.
Since Adolf Loos' Ornament and Crime was released, ornament had been regarded as a vice in Modern architecture. In Post Modern architecture, the ornamental vocabularies extracted from the classical architecture have been symbolically expressed. As a result, the significance of existence of and the use value of architecture have increased with improved intimacy to the public. However, many studies that have analyzed architecture in terms of semantics and semiotics focusing on communication between architecture and the public have admitted instability in architectural meaning because of the fundamental difference between architecture and language. At the same time, the architectural representation has encountered a lot of limitations along with the deconstruction and non-presentation theory in Post-Structuralism. Even under these circumstances, the ornamental representation can be a critical factor which makes communication possible while expressing spatial identity in this pluralistic contemporary society. Hence, this paper has established logical grounds for research based on theoretical investigation on the concept of representation, semiotics, and ornamental representation, with regard to spatial communication through ornamental representation in commercial space. Based on Peirce's Semiotics which is the typical theoretical science in terms of representation, this paper has analyzed the three kinds of signs (Icon, Index and Symbol) that he proposed. Peirce's classification of signs becomes ideal when the factors are well balanced, with room for combination instead of strict classification. It appears that his theory of signs would be useful in understanding and analyzing ornamental representation. This study on representational ornament could offer a plan for ideal communication and abundant spatial experience in the interior design of commercial space in which the expression of creative space identity is required.
