Versatile Shunt Hybrid Power Filter to Simultaneously Compensate Harmonic Currents and Reactive Power

  • This paper introduces a novel topology and an effective control strategy for a shunt hybrid power filter (SHPF) to simultaneously compensate harmonic currents and reactive power. The proposed SHPF topology is composed of an LC passive filter tuned to the 7th harmonic frequency and a small-rated active filter connected in parallel with the inductor Lpf of the LC passive filter. Together with the SHPF topology, we also propose a control strategy, which consists of a proportional-integral (PI) controller for DC-link voltage regulation and a PI plus repetitive current controller, in order to compensate both the harmonic current and the reactive power without the need for additional hardware. Thanks to the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, the supply current is sufficiently compensated to be sinusoidal and in-phase with the supply voltage, regardless of the distorted and phase lagging of the load current. The effectiveness of the proposed SHPF topology and control strategy is verified by simulated and experimental results.

  • As the 4th industrial revolution and artificial intelligence technology develop, it is expected that there will be a revolutionary changes in the security robot. However, artificial intelligence system requires enormous hardwares for tremendous computing loads, and there are many challenges that need to be addressed more technologically. This paper introduces precise tracking control technique of autonomous system that need to move repetitive paths for security purpose. The input feedforward signal is generated by using the inverse based iterative learning control theory for the 2 input 2 output nonminimum-phase system which was difficult to overcome by the conventional feedback control system. The simulation results of the input signal generation and precision tracking of given path corresponding to the repetition rate of extreme, such as bandwidth of the system, shows the efficacy of suggested techniques and possibility to be used in military security purposes.

만성외상성뇌병증과 관련된 반복적 경도 외상성뇌손상(rmTBI)모델에서 cerebrolysin의 별아교 세포활성 억제효과 (Cerebrolysin Attenuates Astrocyte Activation Following Repetitive Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: Implications for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy)

  • 만성외상성뇌병증(Chronic traumatic encephalopathy, CTE)은 운동선수와 매우 밀접하게 관련되어 있으며 장기간에 걸쳐 반복적인 외상성뇌손상(traumatic brain injury, TBI)로 인한 퇴행성뇌질환이다. 신경영양인자(neurotrophic factor)는 여러 종류가 알려져 있으며 이들은 뇌와 척수의 물리적 손상시에 신경보호효과가 있다. 따라서, 신경영양인자의 혼합물인 cebrolysin을 이용하여 CTE질환에 가장 적합하다고 여겨지는 repetitive mild TBI (rmTBI) 모델에서 cerebrolysin의 신경보호효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 실험군은 5군(groups 1 and 2: rmTBI for 4 weeks following cerebrolysin injection for 4 weeks; groups 3 and 4: rmTBI for 8 weeks with or without cerebrolysin injection for 4 weeks; group 5: control)으로 나누어 진행하였다. CTE의 가장 대표적 표시인자인 tau 단백질의 인산화를 조직학적으로 조사한 결과, 대뇌겉질과 해마내 CA3 영역에서 phospho-tau단백질의 발현이 증가되었으며 cerebrolysin ($10{\mu}l$ of 1 mg/ml)를 미정맥으로 투여시 p-tau발현이 감소되었다. CTE의 병인으로 알려진 별아교세포와 미세아교세포의 활성을 각각의 표시인인 GFAP, iba-1을 이용하여 면역조직화학염색을 시행하였다. 별아교세포의 활성은 rmTBI에 의하여 증가하였으며 cerebrolysin에 의해 회복되었으나 미세아교세포의 활성은 관찰되지 않았다. 또한 rmTBI모델에서 체내 탐식세포(macrophage)의 뇌내유입유무를 관찰하고자 CD45 염색을 시행하였으나 유의한 차이를 관찰하지 못하였다. 이상의 결과를 종합하면, cerebrolysin이 rmTBI에 의한 tau단백질의 인산화 및 별아교세포의 활성을 조절하는 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 cerebrolysin이 CTE 환자에 대한 치료 약물의 후보가 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

  • The research developes short-run standardized control charts(SSCC) and short-run acceptance control charts(SACC) under the various demand patterns. The demand patterns considered in this paper are three types such as high-variety and repetitive low-volume pattern, extremely-high-variety and nonrepetitive low-volume pattern, and high-variety and extremely-low-volume pattern. The short-run standardized control charts developed by extending the long-run ${\bar{x}}$-R, ${\bar{x}}$-s and I-MR charts have strengths for practioners to understand and use easily. Moreover, the short-range acceptance control charts developed in the study can be efficiently used through combining the functions of the inspection and control chart. The weighting schemes such as Shewhart, moving average (MA) and exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) can be considered by the reliability of data sets. The two types according to the use of control chart are presented in the short-range standardized charts and acceptance control charts. Finally, process capability index(PCI) and process performance index(PPI) classified by the demand patterns are presented.

들기/내리기 빈도와 회복시간 변화에 따른 몸통 근육의 피로도 분석 (Analysis of Trunk Muscle Fatigue as the Frequency of Lifting/Lowering and Recovery Time Change)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the cumulative fatigue of trunk muscles and the period of recovery time during repetitive lifting and lowering task with two different frequencies(4 times/min and 6 times/ min). Eight healthy males with no prior history of LBD(low back disorders) volunteered for this study. Subjects had 2, 3, 4, and 5 minutes recovery time respectively while they were preforming the lifting and lowering task at 15% level of MVC. EMG signals from six trunk muscles were collected and the fatigue level was analyzed quantitatively. In results, the fatigue levels of LES(left elector spinae), RLD(right lattissimus dorsi), LLD(left lattissimus dorsi), RRA(right rectus abdominis) and LRA(left rectus abdominis) were recovered when 3 minutes recovery time was given at 4 times/min frequency. However, the fatgue level of RES(right elector spinae) was recovered when 4 minutes recovery was given. On the other hand, when 6 times/min frequency was used, the RLD, LLD, RRA and LRA were recovered at 5 minutes of recovery time. But for RES and LES, it took longer than 5 minutes to be recovered. This results can be applied to design the adequate length of recovery time to control the cumulative fatigue of trunk muscles in industry with repetitive lifting and lowering task.

만성 뇌졸중 시 반복경두개자기자극에 의한 경직성 발목관절의 관절가동 범위 향상 및 H-반사 억제 효과 (The Effect of Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on H-Reflex Inhibition and Fascilitation of Range of Motion of Spastic Ankle Joint in Chronic Stroke Patients)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was carried out to investigate the effect of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation on increase of H-reflex inhibition and fascilitation of range of motion of spastic ankle joint in chronic stroke patients. Methods : 30 chronic stroke patients were randomly divided into three groups, a control group(placebo rTMS group), 5 Hz rTMS group and manual therapy group. The MAS and ROM of ankle joint and H-reflex inhibition of soleus muscle were evaluated on each group. Results : The rTMS group decreased MAS of ankle joint and increased H-reflex inhibition of soleus muscle, and ROM of ankle joint than manual therapy group. The placebo rTMS group did not affected the change of MAS, ROM of ankle joint and H-reflex inhibition of soleus muscle. Conclusion : The rTMS was a good therapeutic tool to improve the foot drop in the chronic stroke patients.

  • The power relay can easily control high voltage and high current through metallic contacts. In addition, it has the advantage in reasonable price. So it has been used in many applications. But the power relay has a weak point by mechanical movements. These mechanical movements cause the bouncing phenomenon. Arc and bouncing phenomenon are the main causes of electric abrasion and material erosion. In this study, mechanical repetitive experiments and repetitive experiments in electrically connected state are conducted. Then these two experimental results in terms of bouncing phenomenon and changes in the contact surface are compared. In all number of repetitions, contacts in an electrically connected state cause smaller number of bounce. Also, It has lower contents of silver on eroded surface than the other. The experimental results would be helpful to the further study of contacts life span.

전동식 보행 훈련기를 이용한 뇌졸중 환자 보행훈련의 사전연구 (Preliminary Study of Ambulation Training on Electromechanical Gait Trainer in Stroke Patients)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of electromechanical gait trainer therapy in stroke patients. The gait trainer was designed to provide nonambulatory subjects the repetitive practice of a gait-like movement without overstraining therapist. To simulate normal gait, discrete stance and swing phase, lasting 60% and 40% of the gait cycle respectively, and the control of the movement of the centre of mass were required. Methods : This preliminary study investigated during 8 weeks therapy on the gait trainer could improve gait ability in 5 subacute and chronic hemiparetic stroke patients. Gait ability(time up & go [TUG], comfortable and maximal gait speed and functional ambulation category[FAC]), functional movement of lower extremity(Fugl-Meyer Assessment [FMA] and composite spasticity score [CSS]) and sensory of lower extremity(Fugl-Meyer Assessment sensory [FMA-s])were the measured. Results : TUG, comfortable and maximal gait speed and FMA were improved significantly. Although FAC, FMA-s and CSS were improved, there were not statistically significant. Conclusion : Therefore, the gait trainer enabled affected patients the repetitive practice of a gait-like movement, which is important for the restoration of walking ability.

  • Salmonella spp. is the most common cause of gastrointestinal food poisoning worldwide, and human salmonellosis is mostly caused by the consumption of contaminated food. Therefore, the development of rapid detection methods for Salmoenlla spp. and rapid identification of the source of infection by subtyping are important for the surveillance and monitoring of food-borne salmonellosis. Therefore, this review introduces (1) History and nomenclature of Salmoenlla spp., (2) Epidemiology of Salmoenlla spp., (3) Detection methods for Salmoenlla spp. - conventional culture method, genetic detection method, molecular detection methods, and aptamer, and (4) Subtyping methods for Salmoenlla spp. - pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and repetitive sequence-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Development of Shoulder Wheel with Adjustable Rotating Speed and Rotating Angle and Application Contents

  • The purpose of this study to improve the shoulder wheel that is used frequently during shoulder circumduction exercise in a park, to link the shoulder wheel to a game application comprising various shoulder circumduction exercise and shoulder ROM exercise, and to enjoy the game during the exercises. A step motor was added to the shoulder wheel, and the rotating speed and rotating angle, and rotating direction can be controlled. The shoulder height, different for different people, can be controlled as well, so that any user can use this device. The developed application content includes the game elements, to enjoy the repetitive and boring exercise with fun and interest, and the control to adjust the degree of difficulty. This was to help users heighten their desire to rehabilitate by inducing active participation during repetitive shoulder rehabilitation exercise because the game vests users with intrinsic motivation and immersion. If the shoulder wheel and application contents proposed in this study are used, shoulder diseases can be prevented in advance by performing muscle strengthening exercises required in an aging society. This study is expected to contribute to the field of research related to serious games and rehabilitation.
