The investigation on possible causes of failures related to documented collapses is a complicated issue, primarily due to the scarcity and inadequacy of information available. Although several studies have tried to understand which are the inherent structural deficiencies or circumstances associated to failure of the main structural elements in a reinforced concrete frame, to the authors knowledge a uniform approach for the evaluation building static vulnerability, does not exist yet. This paper investigates, by means of a detailed case study, the potential failure mechanisms of an existing reinforced concrete building. The linear elastic analysis for the three-dimensional building model gives an insight on the working conditions of the structural elements, demonstrating the relevance of a number of structural faults that could sensibly lower the structure's safety margin. Next, the building's bearing capacity is studied by means of parametric nonlinear analysis performed at the element's level. It is seen that, depending on material properties, concrete strength and steel yield stress, the failure hierarchy could be dominated by either brittle or ductile mechanisms.

Global warming awareness through energy conservation is growing due to the regulatory policies issued by governments and voluntary organization that established carbon emission limits. Transportation is one of the major contributors to carbon emissions. Bike will be simultaneously saving money, getting fit and helping to reduce global warming. Web design has been identified as a key factor for the acceptance and success of the websites and electronic commerce. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effective implementation of the proposed Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) technique on a bike case study whose company (Bike Company) is involved in web design for a critical component in the demonstration. Survey research used a variety of data collection methods, with the most common being questionnaires and interviews of some exporters. The research results reveal that the top five key success factors are Good reputation, Transaction security, Ease of use, Promotion, and Diversified choices, which provide the guidelines and directions for decision-makers to design effective websites in the current competitive business scenario. The major findings of this study are suggesting that Internet marketing channels are securing the company's relevance, together with paving the way for methods to increase web traffic.

The Onishi model is an objective indicator which can be used to evaluate the relevance of city environmental management in regard to the capacities and processing status of existing urban infrastructure. This study is to analyze the facility carrying capacity and processing status of Jeju Island, a famous tourist site in South Korea. General variables covered by the Onishi model are considered, including water supply, wastewater treatment, waste disposal, and air pollution. Furthermore, the facility carrying capacities for transportation, such as airports and ports, as well as accommodations are assessed as variables pertinent to the characteristics of Jeju island. With the annual number of tourists exceeding that of residents on the island, more facilities for sewage treatment and waste disposal are required. Furthermore, transportation and accommodations used by tourists have already exceeded their capacity. For the future sustainability of Jeju Island, a plan will be needed for adjusting the volume of tourists based on the capacity of each relevant facility.

Stress drops of Brune's single-corner ${\omega}^2$ source model were estimated for the earthquakes (2.0$M3.5{\sim}4.0$ and increase up to $M4.5{\sim}5.0$ above which the level of the stress drop could be assumed to be flat or decrease according to whether the rupture process accompanies buried fault or surface rupturing. The converted data of corner frequency and seismic moment were nicely fitted to the relation of $M_0{\propto}f^3$ but show systematically higher corner frequencies for $M_0>10^15$ Nm. This relationship enables systematic evaluation of a scaling relation between magnitude and stress drop. The inverted level of the stress drop is comparable to the recent studies conducted domestic and abroad. A result of lower stress drop estimated by Jun(1991) is supposed to be due to the use of low frequency spectra and existence of two-comer source model around the Korean Peninsula.
The purpose of this paper is to review critically the validity and relevance of the pan-national language culture improvement movement, Annyeong! Urimal(Hello! Our Language) implemented for the last three years as part of the government-driven projects, and to seek for improvement direction or fundamental reorientation of this movement. In order to accomplish this purpose, this paper firstly points out abstract and conventional aspects of the diagnosis for background and the purpose of projects, and suggests that this movement focuses on verbal abuse rather than language destruction and pays attention to positive aspects of newly rising language use. Then, with reference to main agent, this paper argues that the government must lead actively formation of voluntary nongovernmental agent with indirect financial and institutional support. Thirdly, it is suggested that public language should be the top priority target sphere and the language used by the leaders of society and the older generation should be also included in the target spheres of this movement. Finally, this paper indicates that enlightenment/public relation projects end often in one time events, imposing unilaterally the normative contents, and also emphasizes the importance of survey/research projects and deliberation/evaluation projects.
Background: This paper aims to evaluate the clinical utility and radiation dosimetry, for the mobile X-ray imaging of patients with known or suspected infectious diseases, through the window of an isolation room. The suitability of this technique for imaging coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients is of particular focus here, although it is expected to have equal relevance to many infectious respiratory disease outbreaks. Materials and Methods: Two exposure levels were examined, a "typical" mobile exposure of 100 kVp/1.6 mAs and a "high" exposure of 120 kVp/5 mAs. Exposures of an anthropomorphic phantom were made, with and without a glass window present in the beam. The resultant phantom images were provided to experienced radiographers for image quality evaluation, using a Likert scale to rate the anatomical structure visibility. Results and Discussion: The incident air kerma doubled using the high exposure technique, from 29.47 µGy to 67.82 µGy and scattered radiation inside and outside the room increased. Despite an increase in beam energy, high exposure technique images received higher image quality scores than images acquired using lower exposure settings. Conclusion: Increased scattered radiation was very low and can be further mitigated by ensuring surrounding staff are appropriately distanced from both the patient and X-ray tube. Although an increase in incident air kerma was observed, practical advantages in infection control and personal protective equipment conservation were identified. Sites are encouraged to consider the use of this technique where appropriate, following the completion of standard justification practices.
Purpose: This study analyzed the information and accessibility of toxic substances provided to Internet websites. Methods: From August 1, 2020, to August 31, 2020, we analyzed eight internet websites regarding toxic pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and chemicals. The website-evaluation criteria were divided into five categories for information and five categories for website convenience. Results: All eight websites about toxic substances were hosted by reliable institutions or organizations and provided accurate information in terms of informational relevance. The website run by the Safety and Health Corporation scored the highest with 100points. Analysis of the websites' accessibility to non-members' revealed that six (75.0%) were accessible, but two (12.5%) provided only limited information. Access to information through mobile apps was only available in three of the eight cases (37.5%). Conclusion: This study can be used as a reference for Internet websites about toxic substances. Toxicological information that can be viewed only with membership and manager approval requires membership in advance of viewing. In addition, emergency medical personnel working at a site or hospital should be familiar with the characteristics of toxicity information retrieval.

Every public agency governing infrastructure has to plan effectively for rehabilitation of existing facilities within the constraints of the capital program. Numerous technical, social, political, financial, and management constraints govern the decision to rehabilitate a facility. However, without a systematic procedure for selecting facilities for rehabilitation, within the prevailing constraints, it is possible that the funds available for rehabilitation might be suboptimized. Therefore, a decision support system that assists the user in selecting facilities for rehabilitation while considering the technical, social, financial, and political and management constraints will be useful in the decision-making process. This paper compares the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) with the Swing Weight method used to prioritize functional criteria for suburban station rehabilitation. This paper also contains a brief discussion about the relevance of the Multi Attribute utility theory in developing a decision model for the problem at hand. The results of this paper provides the user with a decision support system that would prioritize the stations in order of their weights obtained by a systematic evaluation of various criteria and sub-criteria involved in the decision making process
As the definition and role of design changes over time with the times and society, design education needs to update teaching methods to match it. The course design in this study began with an optimisation of the learning model based on previous research and analysis, followed by in-depth interviews, the application of the interview results to the final curriculum design, and finally a questionnaire to verify the positive effects of this teaching model. This teaching model has been applied to teach a pilot class in a university of applied sciences in China. The main characteristics of the course design are Project-Based Learning (PJBL) oriented, team cooperation centric, and an educational model developed based on peer assessment. In every stage of the UI design course, realistic project simulations are adopted, enhancing students' abilities through practical experience, teamwork, and peer assessment. The innovation lies in validating the effectiveness and advantages of this model at every stage of the UI design course, innovating existing teaching methods, optimizing learning models, and combining practice with evaluation. This research found that a project-oriented team course design based on PJBL has a high degree of effectiveness and relevance in each stage of the UI design course, significantly improving students' overall competence. It is expected that the results of this study can be applied in various ways to the course design of the courses that similar to design majors.
