  • Conventional 1-1-1 cooperative protocol offers path-loss gain as advantage of multi-hop and spatial diversity which is equivalent to MIMO system. This protocol is enable to get higher reliability and reduction of power consumption than those of the single-hop or multi-hop. But the 1-1-1 cooperative protocol get only the diversity order 2 and limited path-loss reduction gain because this protocol has a single cooperative relay. We propose 1-2-1 cooperative protocol using two cooperative relays R1, R2. The 1-2-1 cooperative protocol can improve path-loss reduction and increase diversity order 3. Moreover, the cooperative relay R2 attains diversity order 2. The signaling method in transmission uses DF (Decode and Forward) or DR (Decode and Reencode) and 1-2-1 DF/DR cooperative protocol are applied to clustering based wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Simulations are performed to evaluate the performance of the protocols under Rayleigh fading channel plus AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise).

  • In recent years, mobile communication service is used extensively as a larger service area for the maintenance of quality of service required by the expansion of service areas and As the ever-increasing role in relays, and the location is relatively easy to install and less constrained costs, operating cost savings in terms of ICS(Interference Cancellation System) repeaters are required. However, an adaptive algorithm that is applied when updating the filter due to the increase in volume of operations increase the complexity of hardware implementation is fraught with many difficulties. In this paper, if there is a path that feedback. ICS repeater utilizing baseband signal processing for the removal of interfering signals from the feedback operation, significantly reducing the amount of reducing hardware complexity Complex Singed Signed LMS adaption algorithm is proposed. Proposed algorithm for evaluating the performance of Static channel WCDMA signal environment for the ICS, the results of the simulation algorithm, convergence speed and better performance in therms of convergence errors that are required through the implementation of the operation greatly reduces the amount of hardware complexity able to reduce the effect was visible.

  • This paper is a study of a prevention of power folding controller's thermal degradation. Power folding technology has been applied for many fields such as side rear vision mirror of vehicles, windshield wiper, antenna, power window. These controllers have been comprised with traditional DC moors, Switching electronic devices, and relays. But this methods have a limitation to overcome such problems of product reliability, endurance, noise margins. Therefore on this paper, to detect the movement of motor, sensing motor brush noise on a load sensing part has been used and controlling a precise RC timing control minimizes the thermal deterioration of motor. And using MOS FETs as a electronic switching device increases life-time and liability of control circuit. After testing such circuit and control method, repetition of operating time, cut-off time, wide operation voltage, power noise margin ware increased over eleven-fold.

  • Network coding has recently emerged as an effective solution for multicast and broadcast communications in wireless ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose a throughput performance model for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks with network coding. Specifically, we consider IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol and linear topology in which traffic sources are located at both ends and intermediate nodes act as relays performing network coding. The proposed analytic model has the form of nonlinear equations in terms of throughput of each node. The solution of the nonliear equations thus correspond to the end-to-end throughput. Extensive simulation experiments have been performed to validate accuracy of the proposed model. Numerical results show that the results of the proposed analytic model agree fairly well with the corresponding simulation results.

  • Watertight 25.8 kV/600 A/12.5 kA fault current limiters (FCLs) have successfully installed in five areas (Incheon, Seoul, Gyeong-gi, Daejeon, Suwon) on KEPCO power distribution line for the purpose of commercial demonstrations. The fault current limiting operation of this FCL, which includes functions of sensing, commutation, and reduction of fault currents, is perfectly completed within 1 cycle immediately after fault occurs. The performance of FCL was verified by short circuit test, impedance test, insulation test, temperature-rise test, and control test, etc at PT&T in LS industrial systems, which is the official certification institute in Korea. In 2013, and also the FCL field test was performed in order to test the protection coordination between conventional relays and FCL, on the 1.5 kA and 5.0 kA faults, which were made by connecting the Artificial Fault Generator (AFG) to the distribution line in test grid at KEPCO Power Testing Center. The next step of this project is to check the FCL conditions caused by real external environment, and acquire the various data from five regions installed with FCL. In this paper, we intend to explain the FCL specifications and performance characteristics, and check the expected effect by application of FCL to power distribution line based on the power system analysis of an application site.

  • In this paper, the use of an amplify-and-forward (AF) helper station in a cellular network with device-to-device (D2D) communication links is considered to enhance D2D rates and control the interference caused by D2D users to the cellular network. Two design criteria for the AF helper station are considered to improve the overall system quality-of-service (QoS). One is maximization of the worst D2D user rate under a constraint on interference caused by D2D users to the cellular network and the other is its dual, i.e., minimization of interference caused by D2D users to the cellular network with minimum rate guarantee for each D2D user. It is shown that the considered problems reduce to semi-definite programming (SDP) problems. Numerical results show that the proposed AF helper station significantly improves the system performance.

  • In wireless networks, it is well-known that intermediate nodes can be used as cooperative relays to reduce the transmission energy required to reliably deliver a message to an intended destination. When the network is under a central authority, energy allocations and cooperative pairings can be assigned to optimize the overall energy efficiency of the network. In networks with autonomous selfish nodes, however, nodes may not be willing to expend energy to relay messages for others. This problem has been previously addressed through the development of extrinsic incentive mechanisms, e.g., virtual currency, or the insertion of altruistic nodes in the network to enforce cooperative behavior. This paper considers the problem of how selfish nodes can decide on an efficient energy allocation and endogenously form cooperative partnerships in wireless networks without extrinsic incentive mechanisms or altruistic nodes. Using tools from both cooperative and non-cooperative game theory, the three main contributions of this paper are (i) the development of Pareto-efficient cooperative energy allocations that can be agreed upon by selfish nodes, based on axiomatic bargaining techniques, (ii) the development of necessary and sufficient conditions under which "natural" cooperation is possible in systems with fading and non-fading channels without extrinsic incentive mechanisms or altruistic nodes, and (iii) the development of techniques to endogenously form cooperative partnerships without central control. Numerical results with orthogonal amplify-and-forward cooperation are also provided to quantify the energy efficiency of a wireless network with sources selfishly allocating transmission/relaying energy and endogenously forming cooperative partnerships with respect to a network with centrally optimized energy allocations and pairing assignments.

  • IEEE standard 802.16, often referred to as WiMAX, is considered a "last mile" broadband wireless access alternative to conventional DSL and Cable Internet. One extension that is recently receiving great attention is the IEEE 802.16j Mobile Multihop Relay (MMR) amendment. The focus of this amendment is the development of simple and lower cost relay stations (RSs) that can enhance network coverage and capacity. We use our proposed simple scheduling scheme for serving the SSs in a fair manner and evaluate the performance of WiMAX networks with relays, especially we analyze the impact of interference between RSs on cell throughput Through simulations and numerical analysis, we make several fundamental observations about interference aware cost effective coverage extension in such networks.

  • In this paper, two receive diversity combining techniques are proposed for single-carrier Sequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA)-based cooperative relay systems when DFT spreading sizes for mobile station (MS) and relay station (RS) are different. A simplified-MRC (5-MRC) technique performs diversity combining in the time domain using the estimated channel weight and initial values obtained by SC-FDMA signal detection. An interference rejection-MRC (IR-MRC) technique performs diversity combining in the frequency domain by adjusting DFT spreading size in the receiver. It is shown by computer simulation that the proposed receive diversity combining techniques achieve a significant performance gain over the conventional MRC technique with zero forcing (ZF) detector.

  • In this paper, multiple-relay cooperative communication network with multiple antennas is considered. Applying the soft-decision-and-forward protocol to this system, pairwise error probability(PEP) is derived and then symbol error rate(SER) is also calculated. However, in general, signals are transmitted through the orthogonal channel in the multiple-relay cooperative communication network for the prevention of interference, which is inefficient in terms of the throughput. For the improvement of throughput, the relay selection is considered, where the relay having the maximum instantaneous end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio is chosen. Performance of the system is analyzed in terms of PEP and SER. As the number of the relay increases, relay selection method outperforms the conventional multiple-relay transmission system where all relays participate in the second time slot.
