We investigate mobile multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) molecular communication via diffusion (MCvD) system which is consisted of two source nodes, two destination nodes and one relay node in the mobile three-dimensional channel. First, the combinations of decode-and-forward (DF) relaying protocol and network coding (NC) scheme are implemented at relay node. The adaptive thresholds at relay node and destination nodes can be obtained by maximum a posteriori (MAP) probability detection method. Then the mathematical expressions of the average bit error probability (BEP) of this mobile MIMO MCvD system based on DF and NC scheme are derived. Furthermore, in order to minimize the average BEP, we establish the optimization problem with optimization variables which include the ratio of the number of emitted molecules at two source nodes and the initial position of relay node. We put forward an iterative scheme based on block coordinate descent algorithm which can be used to solve the optimization problem and get optimal values of the optimization variables simultaneously. Finally, the numerical results reveal that the proposed iterative method has good convergence behavior. The average BEP performance of this system can be improved by performing the joint optimizations.
In this paper, we study an asymmetric two-way relaying network where two source nodes intend to exchange information with the help of multiple relay nodes. A hybrid time-division broadcast relaying scheme with joint relay selection (RS) and power allocation (PA) is proposed to realize energy-efficient transmission. Our scheme is based on the asymmetric level of the two source nodes' target signal-to-noise ratio indexes to minimize the total power consumed by the relay nodes. An optimization model with joint RS and PA is studied here to guarantee hybrid relaying transmissions. Next, with the aid of our proposed intelligent optimization algorithm, which combines a genetic algorithm and a simulated annealing algorithm, the formulated optimization model can be effectively solved. Theoretical analyses and numerical results verify that our proposed hybrid relaying scheme can substantially reduce the total power consumption of relays under a traffic asymmetric scenario; meanwhile, the proposed intelligent optimization algorithm can eventually converge to a better solution.

A sequential optimization algorithm (SOA) for resource allocation in a cyclic-prefixed single-carrier cognitive relay system is proposed in this study. Both subcarrier pairing (SP) and power allocation are performed subject to a primary user interference constraint to minimize the mean squared error of frequency-domain equalization at the secondary destination receiver. Under uniform power allocation at the secondary source and optimal power allocation at the secondary relay, the ordered SP is proven to be asymptotically optimal in maximizing the matched filter bound on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. SOA implements the ordered SP before power allocation optimization by decoupling the ordered SP from the power allocation. Simulation results show that SOA can optimize resource allocation efficiently by significantly reducing complexity.

This paper studies the problem of secure information exchange between two sources via multiple relays in the presence of an eavesdropper. To this end, we propose a relay beamforming scheme, i.e., relay beamforming with artificial noise (RBwA), where the relay beamforming vector and the artificial noise vector are jointly designed to maintain the received signal-to-interference-ratio (SINR) at the two sources over a predefined Quality of Service (QoS) threshold while limiting the received SINR at the eavesdropper under a predefined secure threshold. For comparison, the relay beamforming without artificial noise (RBoA) is also considered. We formulate two optimization problems for the two schemes, where our goal is to seek the optimal beamforming vector to minimize the total power consumed by relay nodes such that the secrecy of the information exchange between the two sources can be protected. Since both optimization problems are nonconvex, we solve them by semidefinite program (SDP) relaxation theory. Simulation results show that, via beamforming design, physical layer secrecy of two-way relay networks can be greatly improved and our proposed RBwA outperforms the RBoA in terms of both low power consumption and low infeasibility rate.

In this paper, we investigate traffic scheduling for a delay-sensitive multi-hop relay network, and aim to minimize the priority-based end-to-end delay of different data packet via joint relay selection, subcarrier assignment, and power allocation. We first derive the priority-based end-to-end delay based on queueing theory, and then propose a two-step method to decompose the original optimization problem into two sub-problems. For the joint subcarrier assignment and power control problem, we utilize an efficient particle swarm optimization method to solve it. For the relay selection problem, we prove its convexity and use the standard Lagrange method to deal with it. The joint relay selection, subcarriers assignment and transmission power allocation problem for each hop can also be solved by an exhaustive search over a finite set defined by the relay sensor set and available subcarrier set. Simulation results show that both the proposed routing scheme and the resource allocation scheme can reduce the average end-to-end delay.
This paper presents OC relay coordination to protect distribution system by Adaptive Evolutionary Algorithm(AEA). AEA is a optimization method to overcome the problems of classical optimization. The results show that the proposed method can improve more optimum relay settings than present available methods.

In this article, we model the distributed relay assignment network as a many-to-one matching market with peer effects. We discuss two scenarios for throughput optimization of relay networks: the scenario of aggregate throughput optimization and the scenario of fairness performance optimization. For the first scenario, we propose a Mutual Benefit-based Deferred Acceptance (MBDA) algorithm to increase the aggregate network throughput. For the second scenario, instead of using the alternative matching scheme, a non-substitution matching algorithm (NSA) is designed to solve the fairness problem. The NSA improves the fairness performance. We prove that both two algorithms converge to a globally stable matching, and discuss the practical implementation. Simulation results show that the performance of MBDA algorithm outperforms existing schemes and is almost the same with the optimal solution in terms of aggregate throughput. Meanwhile, the proposed NSA improves fairness as the scale of the relay network expands.

In this paper, we analyze the performance of an amplify-and-forward (AF) two-way relaying system, where two sources exchange information via the aid of an intermediate relay that is selected among multiple relays according to max-min criterion. We consider a practical scenario, where one source-relay link undergoes Rician fading, and the other source-relay link is subject to Rayleigh fading. To be specific, we derive a tight lower bound for the outage probability. From this lower bound, the asymptotic outage probability and average symbol error rate (SER) expressions are derived to gain insight into the system performance at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) region. Furthermore, we investigate the optimal power allocation (PA) with fixed relay location (RL), optimal RL with fixed PA and joint optimization of PA and RL to minimize the outage probability and average SER. The analytical expressions are verified through Monte Carlo simulations, where the positive impact of Rician factor on the system performance is also illustrated. Simulation results also validate the effectiveness of the proposed PA and relay positioning schemes.

We present joint radio selection and relay scheme that delivers data from a source to a sink in heterogeneous stationary sensor networks consisting of various radio interfaces. The proposed scheme finds the optimal relay nodes and their corresponding radio interfaces that minimize energy consumption throughout the network while satisfying the end-to-end packet deadline requirement. We formulate the problem of routing through radio interface selection into binary integer programs, and obtain the optimal solution by solving with an optimization solver. We examine a trade-off relationship between energy consumption and packet delay based on network level simulations. We show that given the end-to-end deadline requirement, our routing algorithm finds the most energy-efficient routing path and radio interface across mesh hops. We demonstrate that the proposed routing scheme exploits the given packet delivery time to turn into network benefit of reducing energy consumption compared to routing based on single radio interface.

The exact closed-form expressions for outage probability and bit error rate of spectrum sharing-based multi-hop decode-and-forward (DF) relay networks in non-identical Rayleigh fading channels are derived. We also provide the approximate closed-form expression for the system ergodic capacity. Utilizing these tractable analytical formulas, we can study the impact of key network parameters on the performance of cognitive multi-hop relay networks under interference constraints. Using a linear network model, we derive an optimum relay position scheme by numerically solving an optimization problem of balancing average signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of each hop. The numerical results show that the optimal scheme leads to SNR performance gains of more than 1 dB. All the analytical expressions are verified by Monte-Carlo simulations confirming the advantage of multihop DF relaying networks in cognitive environments.
